How I Changed my Life – Thanks to Serge Benhayon

Before meeting Serge Benhayon and coming across Universal Medicine my life was a mess; I had a string of abusive relationships that did not honour me as the woman I am.

I was constantly running away from life and society and had spent ten years traveling on and off, often finding myself in some really dodgy and unsafe situations. On numerous occasions I found myself sleeping rough on a beach and I actually lived in a cave where I survived on mountain water and food found growing nearby. When I did go back into society to work it was easy for me to numb myself from what I was feeling with alcohol, sugar and caffeine.

I viewed society as the enemy. I saw it as an uncaring, heartless, cold place and wanted as little part of it as I could get away with.

This all changed when I came across Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine.

This was a magical turning point in my life where I was given a very honest but loving reflection on how I had been living and how there was so much more to life than the daily struggle I was finding myself in.

I was going in a ‘one way’ direction which consisted of continually repeating patterns of behaviour that were unhealthy, unhelpful, unloving and harming to both myself and others. But after meeting Serge Benhayon I changed my life completely. Through his loving reflection I realised the harm I was causing to myself and the harm I was causing to society by not being fully committed to life.

Since attending Universal Medicine presentations and receiving Esoteric healing sessions, I have learnt how to honour myself and to commit back to life.

I had been travelling on and off for ten years, flitting from job to job, house to house, relationship to relationship, but since coming to the Esoteric work and The Way of The Livingness, I realised it was time to grow up and face the maturity and responsibility I had been running away from.

I have now been in regular full time work for over four years, and in the last year I’ve been working as a manager for a successful business.

This would not have been possible if I had not listened to and taken on board what Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine have been presenting for many years now.

I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside… not running away or turning a blind eye, or using distractions such as travelling, sugar, alcohol or caffeine.

I had always seen humanity’s sufferings as too big to comprehend and would get lost in the overwhelming feeling that I needed to do something to help in some way. When this seemed impossible it was easy to give up and use something to distract myself.

Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.

We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.

I am now taking responsibility and claim my part in society. I work hard, commit to life and to people and I no longer run away.

None of which would have been possible if it was not for Serge Benhayon and the truth he presents.

  1. True Elizabeth, what are we contributing to the world, ‘ we must first take a look in our own back garden and see how we are contributing to the mess we now live in and don’t like.’

  2. When we truly know and recognise love again, we can not help to commit, commit to life, commit to relationships commit to work. Love heals us and we are reminded of our responsibility to help others also heal.

  3. Thanks to the presentations by Universal Medicine I am now working longer hours than any other time in my life, and at 66 my life has a True feeling of vitality without the sugars etc. as you have shared SLE.

  4. SLE you feel so incredibly solid and committed, you really do. What an incredible transformation, you are living proof that The Way of The Livingness can change the very foundation of Life by fundamentally changing us the people.

  5. The principles of The Way of The Livingness support a growth and maturity which is not common. I have loved the input from the many people who live by those principles, the honesty and care that comes with helping a young girl grow into a woman (as it has been in my case) are deeply touching & nothing like I have come across anywhere else.

  6. ‘Through his loving reflection I realised the harm I was causing to myself and the harm I was causing to society by not being fully committed to life.’ when I first met Serge Benhayon there were some uncomfortable moments because of the beholding way he held me, I was given space to feel where I was at, and to feel how my choices felt in my body. Until I met Serge, no one else had had the capacity to do this, and to do this with zero judgment but with total love. This lack of judgment gave me permission to be with what I felt, and even though I judged myself at the time, I was given a marker through his inspiration of what living without judgment felt like.

  7. So true and to do so without judgment of ourselves means we then don’t judge others who may not consider this as something they would like to do.

  8. It is hard sometimes to accept that all that is messy, ugly, bad, unkind about the world is all from humans. We have lost what connection is about and have placed more importance on our differences. For sensitive people, staying committed to life when you feel all of that is hard, but as you have shared here, not impossible. In fact, when you commit to life, life becomes much LESS complicated!

  9. The other day I reflected on my life and what I’m now doing and I know I couldn’t be doing what I’m doing without the wisdom that’s come through Serge Benhayon. It’s amazing how I’ve been placed in life.

    1. Absolutely Karin, we have the most amazing life, and this is because we have made loving choices through our many lives by being Students of the Ageless Wisdom.

  10. SLE I agree with you when you say
“I viewed society as the enemy. I saw it as an uncaring, heartless, cold place and wanted as little part of it as I could get away with.”
What I am at last allowing myself to feel is the energy behind the way we live, and what if it is all a set up so that we do give up on life and check out rather than live life to the fullness that is on offer. Since meeting Serge Benhayon I have questioned the status quo and found it lacking in so many ways it’s like how did I allow myself to be so deceived by the energy that keeps us all thinking we live in such an uncaring society.

    1. Many people withdraw from life as people can feel very unloving, ‘all a set up so that we do give up on life and check out rather than live life to the fullness that is on offer.’

  11. “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for.” The power of the ripple effect of the pebble making a splash to inspire others to equally take responsibility for contributing to the whole.

  12. “Since attending Universal Medicine presentations and receiving Esoteric healing sessions, I have learnt how to honour myself and to commit back to life.” I have found the same thing and I know that is is something that a lot of Universal Medicine students share.

  13. I used to be majorly overwhelmed and low about the state of the world, I now know that we all, every one of us, can make choices that either support or hinder love and truth on this planet, and that is what I have started choosing…to be more responsible and so; empowerment and no more low.

    1. So true, when we make choices that are more responsible in our own lives we feel less overwhelmed by the mess we see in other areas of life. I wonder if it is not about anyone else but us realising we are no longer contributing to it on the same level as we did before. The challenge then, is not getting comfortable but always being aware that there may be a deeper level of responsibility available to us.

    2. We can trash, squander and even annihilate the planet but at the end of the day we can’t change a single atom in God’s body and knowing this gives me immeasurable comfort.

    3. Returning to being more responsible in life, to living who we are in full, and reflecting that commitment to the world.

  14. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside”…this reminds me of Ghandi’s quote – ‘be the change you want to see in the world’. Before when you were overwhelmed and was running away from life, you where showing people that it is OK to do that, but by turning up every day to life/work/home and being fully engaged in life, you are showing people that it is OK to do this.

  15. SLE, a great learning for us all in “Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.” showing us that we often avoid feeling and seeing everything as we feel helpless to do anything about it, however what if that was not the case? I’ve also come to appreciate, through what Universal Medicine offers, just how powerful I am and that my real power is not in control, but in allowing space for situations to unfold, for society to change.

  16. Are we turning a blind eye, or simply only seeing what we want to see and shutting everything else out? As our eyes receive images, it is our mind that reinterpreted those images and then our perception is shaped by those thoughts. With a True understanding we receive images so then the way we connect to life is different as we start to feel from our essences what is going on energetically first, then allow the image to be received and this a whole different way of looking at life with both eyes open and we cannot be fooled by images or thoughts!

    1. Then as we develop a relationship from with-in or our essences that becomes a Livingness that we deepen on a daily basis and this brings with it a Deep-Humble-Humble-Appreciative-Ness of the energetic awareness we can all re-connect to.

  17. The more we allow ourselves to be aware of what is happening around us the more we will understand what is truly going on and the less will be our reactions to it.

  18. Yes it takes us all, we all need to ‘claim our part’ and take responsibility, this will bring the tide of change that is so needed. We can not push it or force it, but live it and be the love, care, and accountability that we want to see in life, these choices ebb out into life like beautiful golden ripples an change live around us.

  19. The more we truly honour ourselves the more love we then naturally have to bring to all others, it’s like it lays the foundations for all our relationships.

  20. I love the title of this blog “How I changed my life” Serge Benhayon didn’t and doesn’t change anything for us, maybe our perception of life through his teachings and presentations but the leg work to change our lives and put in the effort is our responsibility.

    1. I agree, I love the title, very clearly a choice to turn things around on the part of the writer. I have also been inspired to work on what has blocked my potential and I am committed to continuing to clear out the blind spots and issues so that I can live free and support humanity. This is very much my choice and yes, I have had the blessing of also being inspired by Serge Benhayon, but as you say, it is most definitely me that has put in the ‘leg work’….

  21. It is astounding how different your life is! I never lived in a cave 🙃 But definitely skirted the edges of life so I didn’t have to be fully grown up and responsible, it is still a process really as this desire to get away with things to not be the same as everyone else runs strong. But I am deeply inspired by what is possible.

  22. It is beautiful how only the true truth is what makes us wake up to how we have been living and then we are able to make changes from that realisation. Even though it can be confronting, feeling how we are responsible and needed in the world is super supportive in turning things around.

  23. I found my way back to this blog because I was struck by what you said again SLE
“I was going in a ‘one way’ direction which consisted of continually repeating patterns of behaviour that were unhealthy, unhelpful, unloving and harming to both myself and others. But after meeting Serge Benhayon I changed my life completely. Through his loving reflection I realised the harm I was causing to myself and the harm I was causing to society by not being fully committed to life.”
I know I have been in this ‘one way direction’ of life or ‘rut’ as I call it and it is all thanks to Serge Benhayon and the courses and workshop that he presents that have supported me to also completely change my life. I always had a fear of ill mental health having suffered from it for many years which is all in the past. I live such a full and joyful life having climbed out of the self-made ‘rut’ I put myself into with as I say the complete support of Serge Benhayon and the team of Universal Medicine practitioners.

    1. Yeah I feel that fit like a bicycle stuck in the grooves not able to do anything differently that is until your willing to really look at what you want from life and if you want it to change to realise it is up to you.

  24. How I Changed my Life – Thanks to Serge Benhayon is the title of this blog and I have read many blogs and commented on them too. What has struck me is the thousands of people who have stepped forward to say what you are saying SLE …How I Changed my Life – Thanks to Serge Benhayon.
He is the most incredible man and you would think by now with so many people whose lives he has touched that he would be big headed even pompous, as so many people tend to become, we don’t have to look too far to see them in our society. However Serge Benhayon is the most down to earth man quietly supporting those that ask for support, presenting the ageless wisdom in such a matter of fact way. I personally don’t feel we will in this lifetime or those to come really understand the truth of this man or what he brings as the representative of God on earth at this time. Just as we don’t fully understand Jesus in his time because his life has been so corrupted by institutionalised religion. So my deepest apologies to you Serge Benhayon for not fully appreciating the magnitude of who you are and what you have grounded on earth at this point in our evolution and I say this on behalf of all of humanity who seem to be unready to hear from their hearts what you have presented to them.

  25. “If I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside” – this brings a totally different light to the society these days and how most of us are operating – namely in distraction and numbing, and I am no exception to that. It makes me wonder if the world is as it is because we are choosing not to be in it and it is missing out on us.

  26. This is a very important point to consider in terms of one of the main reasons that people care but go into sympathy or overwhelm when it comes to the giant task of supporting humanity to get back on track….”We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” We are meant to be right where we are with the reflections we have in life, so respond and do not react and those ripples flow out into the rest of humanity.

  27. ‘I am now taking responsibility and claim my part in society.’ We can run from life and responsibility feeling we are free, for me committing to life in full and becoming more responsible has bought simplicity, love, and a deeper connection to myself and my relationships.

  28. The moment we stop and realise that we need to take responsibility for our choices, because truly there is nowhere to hide, we start to make changes and we realise that we not only have a responsibility for ourselves, we have a responsibility to show humanity that we all need to work together.

  29. If we want change we have to change it from the inside, as you share SLE. Accepting responsibility is a big one for us humans, as it seems so much easier to blame or withdraw. When we find the love for ourselves once again, it is so much easier to love others again, and to want to hang on in there, rather than escaping and being irresponsible.

  30. Committing to life and working hard in my work, relationships and home gives me the greatest amount of joy in my body — there is no other way but to commit to expressing in full how life feels from the body.

  31. Valuing ourselves and accepting the massive role we play within the world is a great turning point within anyone. When this is felt the web we have used to keep ourselves small start to undo and we see what great importance we are to all.

  32. I understand this feeling of overwhelm at seeing the large scale mass of human suffering and not knowing what to do or how to make a difference. I understand how this can lead to wanting to run and hide. But what Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon have presented with the reality that we are all not going anywhere but around and around in circles on this one planet that is in amongst the vaster greater whole of a universe that is constantly expanding, makes me want to get up each morning and even if my part of change in the vast sea of human misery is very small, to make the contribution – no matter how small – is truly deeply valuable.

  33. It reveals that we sometimes need a strong truthful reflection and the offering of true tools to change things in our lives. When we are stuck in a repeating cycle, and we have troubles getting out of it, it takes simply a true reflection to make a different movement (choice!). I love that, this is what Serge Benhayon constantly offers to people, more than once.

  34. I used to also see the suffering in the world and think I wasn’t able to do anything to help. But the more I ‘commit back to life’ the more I see how what an intrical part we all play. I love this expression ‘ commit back to life’ as it’s spot on. It’s a coming back to life through commitment – without which we remain half alive or it feels like a living deadness

  35. Awesome how you were inspired to look deeply at your life and fully commit to it. What struck me as I was reading this was the honesty in the way you were so clearly running away. But there’s also the more dishonest running away: making it look as though we’re really committed by doing a lot of activity- and using that as a wall to hide behind. I’m seeing and learning each day that commitment isn’t about doing more, but bringing more of ourselves, more joy and more life into each moment: fully showing up, and never giving up.

    1. I really appreciate what you’re saying here Bryony. Sometimes I look at what I do and I get caught in “should be doing more?” or “perhaps I should have said it differently”.

I get a lot done in my day at work especially when I’m learning and obeying the rhythms of the day that support us in all our tasks. But I start second guessing myself because it was too easy, too simple and I want to take credit, get recognised for what was done and make it all about me – did that person really get what I said or did I make it look so easy, so natural that I’m not going to be praised?!

Life could really be a breeze if I appreciate the quality of what’s able to come through me and deepen this connection to the rhythms of life. Then I’d know the truth of each situation and know when there is no need to add more because it is complete. Then they’ll be no more doing tonnes of stuff that is superfluous – which includes all the time and energy wasted on seeking recognition, on worrying, thinking about the future, planning to an unnecessary degree.

  36. When you look at something that is a gigantic mess it is hard to know where to begin, it’s great how simple you’ve made it here, change begins from within, it’s the small steps we take everyday to live a true, honest, respectful life full of integrity… we all know it only takes one person to change everything around.

  37. You are one of many stories of people whose life’s have changed for the better from the teachings of Serge Benhayon. These teaching are worthy of world sharing and beyond. Creating ripples of change with ever breath.

  38. How crazy is it that when we can’t handle the mess of the world, we pull back and add to it? I think many of us can relate to this as can we also relate to the joy to be found when we pick ourselves up and whole heartedly commit to this plane of life and living fully in it. This is the only way to bring about the change we all crave. One step at a time from the ground up. Together we will get there but we must start with ourselves so we become a point of light that reflects to all others what is possible when we live with true purpose and great love.

  39. How I changed my life? There aren’t words to describe the way my life has changed since I met Serge Benhayon. When people ask me what are you up to in your spare time, I often get puzzled because I don’t do the regular things like going for drinks/ movies/ dinners very often – but then I stop and consider that I don’t actually have spare time. My days are filled with doing things I absolutely enjoy, such as reading these blogs and leaving a comment about what each and every one of them has brought up for me.

  40. “I viewed society as the enemy. I saw it as an uncaring, heartless, cold place and wanted as little part of it as I could get away with.” I can totally understand how anyone who looks around and sees the mess that humanity is in, the cruelty, the corruption and greed, etc. would want to go into Nature to hide and get away from it all. I had a period in my life where I basically did the same thing (without the cave, though). But what I realised is that by me trying to escape a system that I felt was lost, I was actually contributing to the problem and giving up on the Love that is in all of us, and showing others that it is all a lost cause anyway by my desire to ‘get away from it all’. Only through engaging fully with life and all its responsibilities and showing how we can be in it in a way that is as loving as possible at that time, can we show another way to others.

  41. Your change SLE might seem extreme but so many of us have been doing exactly the same thing, isolating and withdrawing just in our own way. Serge Benhayon shows us all – there is a way forward, where life makes sense. It’s so simple sometimes it’s easy to forget what life was like before we met SB.

  42. The brutal reality of how we are treating each other in this world is very challenging to accept. The abuse, the lovelessness, the complete disregard and contempt for a fellow brother was difficult to see and feel. I reacted in a big way to this also, not wanting any part of it, yet in this I now understand was also feeding this culture in which there was no real escape. When we realise that our every move has a great impact on the world we live in, we become empowered in knowing that whenever we move with love through our lives, we are bringing the change that the world is desperately in need of. Through The Way of The Livingness, as lived and presented by Serge Benhayon, I have been inspired and have also experienced how this is very possible, that life can be enriched to no end through the degree of love lived.

  43. It is quite fascinating to read the stories of so many different people, from completely different backgrounds, countries, ages, experience who all share ONE thing in common…. their life totally changed and transformed on meeting Serge Benhayon.

    1. That is one of the amazing things about attending Universal Medicine events. You meet people of all shapes, ages, genders, nationalities, demographics, walks of life – nothing on the outside to link them but on the inside all beating as one heart. I remember once attending an event and being struck by that and also noticing how at the same venue there was another group meeting who were all going rowing and how they all had similar body types, ages and appearances which makes the seemingly outer difference amongst Universal Medicine participants stand out even more.

    2. Not only do we as a society not know what it means to have a joyful life, we aspire to happiness instead of joy. Happy is something quite ghastly if you have experienced true joy!

  44. The absolute beauty of Serge Benhayon’s teachings is that they are very practical, hence why people’s lives change when they applied his teachings to life.

    1. Very true Elizabeth, and the fact is these changes are undeniable through the sustained and increasing well-being and enrichment lived if one was truly open to observing. I am continually inspired by it all.

  45. Great example of how we can live from our hurts, and the unloving choices we can make for ourselves and others because of it. When we take responsibility for our part we play we allow understanding to become part of our everyday, and in this, allow love to be a consistent part of how we live life.

  46. “We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” Very true, we have a huge impact and it is only by us ignoring this fact, for whatever reason, that the world stays as it is.

  47. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside” – This is absolute gold and such truth behind this statement. Its no use blaming others and this is what I used to do much more often than now a days, when play a part in this too.

  48. “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for” – I couldn’t agree with you more. I used to feel insignificant and from time to time it tries to sneak in but I’m more aware when it tries to sabotage me. Every one of us no matter our status is needed to make the whole.

  49. We can’t change anything unless we agree to be part of it, that is so true and something I now appreciate, whereas earlier I wanted to run a million miles away from any form of commitment, and I know my own involvement with Universal Medicine has allowed me to deepen my commitment to life in a way that I’d shirked previously and now I couldn’t imagine living any other way.

  50. “if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…” Beautiful appreciation of the responsibility we all carry to bring true love and Brotherhood to humanity to inspire all to choose to live in and with love.

  51. “Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this”. When we stop reacting to life because of wanting it to be a certain way a great step in our own evolution occurs. This supports not only us but also everyone we encounter.

    1. Whenever we go into despair at the state of anything or anyone then we’ve lost sight of the bigger picture. God has absolutely everything worked out in ways that we can’t even begin to imagine, his intelligence is beyond anything that we consciously know and there is no detail that he could possibly have over looked. God is all over the detail constantly, in fact He is the detail.

  52. This blog demonstrates that no matter how withdrawn from life we are, there is always the opportunity to turn that around and commit to ourselves and life.

  53. ” í am now taking responsibility and claim my part in society. I work hard, commit to life and to people and I no longer run away. ” This is so wonderful to read a simple miracle of responsibility by choice, lovely thank you for sharing.

  54. Yes SLE, to change the world is to change yourself. “We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.”

  55. what I got from reading this blog today is that we need to become aware that we undeniable are part of the society we experience as wayward and very abusive in all aspect of life. Only by participating in full we can change it from the inside out. When we feel to distract ourselves from society we just are fallen for an illusion because then too we are still in it, part of it and contribute to it if we like it or not.

  56. With many of us withdrawing from life and trying to find an easy way to escape the daily grind, the fact that you have returned to the world of work and are committing to life again (and no feeling of the grind being present in your blog) is truly remarkable.

  57. Yet another miracle that is thanks to Serge Benhayon. A man that lets us not forget that we are far more than we are living, and that it is our choice to live that more in our every move.

  58. When we truly honour ourselves it is an honouring of everyone else as well and so all benefit from us making that commitment.

  59. I think many people could relate to living in reaction to the world, there is much to except and surrender to. The more we accept and surrender to the divineness we are the more we start to see the divine beauty in all and the world.

  60. A massive turn around in someones life, supported by a business that has been doing this for many people for years now. It’s no small turn around as I’ve said and testament to the very fact that it’s about us returning to something and not about going anywhere. This, “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside” is a simple but key message for all of us. If we look out and turn away, walk away, feel overwhelmed or helpless then turn back within and build truly, how you are and everything outward will be forever touched by this power.

  61. I had little commitment to life and what commitment I did have was on my terms so not really any commitment at all. What ever our age, working regularly is a great support in getting back into life and finding purpose. Until I met Serge Benhayon I had absolutely no purpose other than to make my life as comfortable as possible.

  62. So true SLE, the lack of commitment to life is an exhausting way to live, I can relate as I did it myself for many years. Learning to commit to life hasn’t been as hard or scary as I once thought, it has been very empowering to embrace life and not to hide from it and to feel the true love and support that is available when we say yes to this.

  63. That is so true – equally for me, without the teachings, wisdom shared, love and truth reflected by Serge Benhayon, I would not be standing as I am – more and more able to live who I am – getting to know myself in full in this human life and equally in the awareness and deep inner knowing that we are not from here. That I am from heaven just like any other person here on earth.

  64. I appreciate the truth and power in your words, and your commitment to you and to all of us, thank you.

  65. I can absolutely relate to feeling dismayed and repulsed by the way we as a humanity treat each other and what we have allowed to be accepted as ‘normal’ in the world. Throughout my life, especially growing up, the feelings of love, and Brotherhood that I felt within were incongruent with what I was seeing in the world we were and are living in. And so the choice I made in reaction to this was to rebel first, followed by trying to just fit in. Through the presentations of Universal Medicine I came to realise that the love we are within remains untouched and we all have a choice in every moment to live this love, as the choices we make on a daily basis is what contributes to shaping the way our society is. In claiming to be the love we are within through our living day we bring the power of one more person living love in the world, rather than one more person living and adding lovelessness the world. This is the responsibility we all hold.

  66. So many of us have been hurt in some way and have then reacted to humanity and society. We turn our back or only give the minimal needed to get by in life but never really offering our all to humanity, fully engaging in society or committing to life. The student body is a growing group of people who are committed and committing to life and who are active in their community – it is beautiful to be a part of and to witness.

  67. Shutting ourselves away from society to not feel the pain is in effect shutting ourselves away from the love that resides within us that would, when connected to, heal our pain as we become responsible for our own life.

  68. Energetically how many of us are living in a cave without any light and are happy to live in this level of illusion away from the light we come from? Every now and then God sends an amazing being who lights up the darkness for those who are ready to leave the cave and feel the reality that living in full day-light brings.

    1. Great point Greg. We can definitely find ourselves living in a cave without physically being in one. I know certainly I had even constructed my own, with walls of protection to cocoon myself from feeling hurt from the world – which in truth never really worked anyway. I now realise that the hurt I was feeling was not coming from the lovelessness in world around me, but all along was from not living in connection to and staying true to me in the face of the lovelessness.

      1. Agreed Carola, Love has to be lived then we need no walls of protection as our divine connection allows the ability to see the lovelessness for what it truly is, then it is observed and not absorbed.

  69. True change can only come from within when we realise that we are an equal part of how things are around us; when we blame and withdraw, and I did my part in it, we basically add to the existence we detest. You’ve shown us here that when you start to commit and take responsibility for your own life, things do change.

  70. Recently I have been realising just how much of a big lie everything in my life has been thus far. I have always been involved in gazillion projects, taking on every opportunity that came my way – however never really committed to any of it. I used to go to a netball club every week, missing only 2 practice sessions in one year at school and used to use that as a pointer that I’m committed to life. However, when I get a bit more honest about it, I can say that the reason why I used to go is to get the recognition for showing up every time because I knew that my teacher valued that. It showed in my performance as well, I was never really any good at the sport. There could be many reasons of course, but when you are not completely committed to doing your best, you never will.

  71. Wow. This is potentially how we could change the world – to embrace being a part of what is needing to change. So easy to criticize and/or ignore what we do not like, as if it has nothing to do with us, but we have everything to do with what we see.

    1. Brilliantly said Fumiyo, taking responsibility for this fact is the beginning of change.

  72. When we get hurt by life, or seemingly so, we can then lead a life of reaction but kid ourselves we are doing it our way and not buying into the rules of society. Yet when we do anything in reaction we are still being ruled by whatever it is we reacted to. We are in no way, shape or form free of it.

  73. Perhaps like me, you have always seen yourself as a victim of life, unfairly attacked, held back and wrongly treated and so justified, to feel put down, sad and hurt and somewhat mistreated in this world. Yes it’s true there is much that’s not loving in this life, but knowing Serge Benhayon has shown me that the world does not owe us ‘a living’ as we think it does – it just returns to us what we choose. We could not be more powerful, better equipped to make a life that’s true, vibrant and rich. But the responsibility for this always comes down to us and whether we say yes to Love. Thank you SLE.

  74. Thank you SLE for sharing your journey of committing back to life, meeting Serge Benhayon was such an amazing gift of love that you opened up to and choose for yourself and take your part responsibly into society , knowing that you can and do make a difference.

  75. What a journey you have been on, its sounds like you always knew the truth but needed a nudge to wake you up. I was the same, maybe not living in caves but I was wayward, I was numbing myself constantly as a way to run away and when I got that nudge, it was the best thing that happen to me. I am very grateful for meeting Serge Benhayon and any person that says a bad word about this man, must not know him because when you do know the depth of his love and care, he is is impossible to hold any ill towards. There are not many people out there like Serge, who dedicate their life to reawaken people and bring them back to the powerhouses they always were.

  76. It’s an amazing change to go from being overwhelmed by the world and given up on what you have to bring to humanity versus the commitment you now have and willingness to respond to what you see and feel in society around you.

  77. Accepting we have an equal part to play in this world is part of the responsibility we each have to contribute something of value to the world. Otherwise we sink into the stance that the world owes us something, and withdraw through the hurt we feel when people and life do not deliver.

  78. Amazing to see people choosing to re-commit to life after having wanted to step away from it.

  79. A remarkable turn-around, SLE, which is such a powerful testament to the loving and empowering influence that Serge Benhayon has through his lived example and presentations of the Ageless Wisdom.

  80. It’s a pretty incredible turn around. To live with such enormous hurts for so long and yet be open to the possibility that you can contribute to changing that is quite miraculous. It’s better that you’re here with the rest of us, that’s for sure.

    1. It is a total miracle, when you look at how many people are feeling disempowered, disengaged with society because they feel the emptiness and pointlessness of the way things are. To be able to step back into life and be open to what that will look like is indeed a miracle.

  81. Thank you for sharing SLE, your story is remarkable but it’s not the only one I’ve heard like this when it comes to Serge. Our society is full of good advice, practical tips and ‘helpful guidance’ but none of it seems to lead to true, substantial change. Speak to people who have been inspired by Serge Benhayon to become students of Universal Medicine and themselves and you start to see the amazing difference that has taken place. It’s no coincidence to me that Serge actively lives what he presents. This seems to effect us on a molecular level, like seeing him draws out the potential inside of us. And then if we live it too we have the same effect on the people that we know. Now this is how true inspiration works to me – how beautiful.

  82. Thank you for your honest and inspirational sharing SLE. There is no doubt there are many parts of our society that are uncaring, heartless, cold. However, what a joy it is that you now bring care, heart, love and fire into the community; which in turn supports and inspires others to do the same.

  83. Contributing to life is SO much more meaningful (and useful) than giving up. Yes, it can seem like there is too massive a tide to turn back – a tsunami perhaps – but as you have realised SLE what we choose makes a difference. To paraphrase Gandhi, all we need do is; ‘be the change we want to see’ and we can do this moment to moment, which is to say movement to movement. Every move we make matters.

  84. Getting to know ourselves by the quality of our beingness allows for true movement of our bodies and we get to know the power that we hold to dispel the what is not.

  85. Sometimes we need to fess up and realise that we can be our own worst enemy with the unwise choices we make ourselves, and not the society we blame.

  86. This shows how we all have a responsibility to live to our inner truth, as, how else are we able to return to a one unified truth if we are already compromising ourselves by not living and expressing that what we deep down feel to be our truth.

  87. Thank you for sharing this stunning story SLF. I used to react to bureaucracy and feel like nothing I did mattered but Serge Benhayon supported me to change all that through his incredible presentations on responsibility, reflection and energy. Now I know that every single move I make matters and it has changed everything.

  88. ‘…I no longer run away’. in fact you are not running away from yourself anymore, you are not blaming society anymore and feel yourself the victim. You (and others who embraced The Way of The Livingness) have become aware of how we are all part of humanity and live in this crazy society with our responsibility to consistently bring our light into the world to reflect there is another way.

  89. It’s amazing that in the reaction to the lovelessness, corruption, abuse etc. we see around us (and are part of) in life, so many of us choose to run away in some way – whether that be as you did quite literally SLE, or by burying ourselves in our own stuff so we don’t have to feel the enormity of the rot in society as a whole. It does feel overwhelming and can relate to the feeling of not knowing what I can do to change it so instead just ignoring it. But ironically by doing this we are adding to the problem. By staying silent and choosing not to change our part in the mess we are confirming it is ok, so we perpetuate it with our apathy, overwhelm, anxiousness…..or whatever it is for you. But one person choosing to live consciously and responsibly has a massive effect on the world. We do not need to wake up with the thought we are going to change the world. All we need to do is to love and care for ourselves, understanding that in doing so we are offering a choice to others to do the same. The power of this reflection is immense and unfathomable.

  90. WE all have a huge part to play in the way society is currently functioning. Taking responsibility for the way we live and communicate with others is a big step in the right direction to arrest the current ills of our existence.

  91. It’s interesting SLE that you went from living in relative isolation, existing on water and bush food, to living in society numbing yourself on sugar and caffeine… what strikes me is that both these ways of getting through life are essentially the same. Both offer a ‘way through’ that is not engaged fully and not taking responsibility for what it is we are contributing. They are both a way of copping out… thank God for Serge Benhayon and his reflection of truth and love… and for the fact you allowed yourself to wake up to the fact it lives within you equally so.

    1. The extremes are only the other end of the same continuum, we are forever offered the opportunity to align to love and all that it can support us with.

      1. Exactly Vanessa, and we are endlessly offered the opportunity to cop out and align to anything but that. Aligning to love and all that it can support with does require us to go against the tide and no longer fit in with the status quo, which can feel daunting for a while.

  92. Sometimes when we are presented with truth, we may reject it and push it away because we choose to avoid it. But you certainly embraced love and truth SLE, reflected and presented by Serge Benhayon and people at Universal Medicine. This is a beautiful blog showing us what life looks like when we choose to take responsibility, commit to life and purpose. Amazing SLE, from your choices, you too reflect truth and love to people around you.

  93. Hear hear. What I can relate to is feeling inspired by a man who lives a life full of responsibility and self love – to the point where I choose to change how I live based on what I see. Amazing!

  94. Imagine a marathon with no end, a Grand Prix with no finish line, or a cricket game with no end of play. Exhausting? Well, this is where we end up when we bury our head in the sand and try to escape from our ‘stuff’ and life. In running we make ourselves prisoners of something we really needn’t be. Thank you for the change you chose SLE.

    1. That is a funny analogy Joseph. A football game that never ends, that is like a horror story, but for 2 hours its awesome entertainment, but that extension of time exposes that it is not the truth, as if it was true and loving an eternity of living it would be natural.

  95. It is truth that calls us in from the wilderness of our lost selves, where we live in reaction to a world that has been deprived of our true light and choose to withdraw and seek solace in the shadows that offer some form of comfort by way of shrouding our vision of all that is there to be seen. Stepping back into the light is as simple as making the choice to no longer hide the beauty of that which burns within us all. It is the light of truth, of love and of God. Serge Benhayon is one of many teachers that have walked beside us throughout history that by virtue of their living way, remind us that we too can arise once more back to the truth of who we really are.

  96. This blog reveals that we there are a million directions to run away from oneself and life and that no matter how far we think we can go, we are destined to return to truth.

  97. Even when I was on a so-called good working relationship and was well respected there was no way that the truth of the energetic harm I was doing got a look in. Then I discovered the works of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine and life has become a pursuit of energetic integrity and responsibility for I can see and feel a greater purpose to life than I used to.

  98. As long as we feel insignificant we can justify running away and not committing to life because we feel powerless. All the distractions we use to keep us away from our power are simply part of the illusion that we are not magnificent and deeply powerful just by being ourselves.

  99. I love how you are claiming your part in society and what an awesome reflection for all those who are still running away from their overwhelm of seeing how things are and not being able to cope with what they see. Recognising that each and every one of us has their part to play and it is only when we step up that things will start to change. So many have changed their lives around thanks to Serge Benhayon, I know I have and am now committed to playing my part and doing whatever is needed, however painful it can be at times, to really feel where humanity is at.

  100. Thank you SLE, and I wholeheartedly agree with you – each and every single one of us plays a significant part in the whole. Serge Benhayon has most certainly supported me to appreciate the effect we have on everyone through the choices that we make and way that we live and it’s something that I’m continually developing my awareness and livingness of.

  101. It is easy to talk about changing our lives for the better but harder to actually do so !This is where role models come into play! To actually be able to see what it takes,( commitment) and dedicate our lives to making those changes for ourselves by starting with self nurturing and from there the ripple effect takes over. We could not choose a better person than Serge Benhayon to show us the way by his Livingness !

  102. To me it feels very important that we appreciate the true role models in our lives and Serge Benhayon is definitely a true role model in my life. I deeply appreciate all that he has brought to my life and into the lives of others.

  103. I have discovered over the years that running away from life, hiding from the world or dismissing what we see and feel is simply a choice to avoid embracing the truth. Not only the truth that we feel and see but also the truth that we are responsible for the choices we make in our lives, which directly contribute to the way the world is today. The truth is that we are far greater than what we are living today as a whole. Through The Way of The Livingness as presented and lived by Serge Benhayon I have come to know that within us all is a universal truth and through honesty this truth comes to life. When we embrace our truth we are empowered to be ourselves as we are guided to live with a far more loving and Soulful quality through our daily lives. A quality that is lived in honor of the truth we all are within.

  104. It is truly beautiful to read stories such as these SLE of how students have completely turned their lives around with the support of Universal Medicine. The steps you took to change your life and to take responsibility are very inspiring and remind us that no matter where we are in life we can begin to make true changes when we make self-loving choices.

  105. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…” So true SLE- we cant force another to change, but we can change ourselves – and it’s amazing how different the world seems to be then!

  106. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside”.This is it in a nutshell, we need to be the change we want to see in others. Taking full responsibility for all our choices and choosing self love and self care, reflecting this out to the world.

  107. We use many things to numb our body, until we are prepared to uncover the love we truly are, lovely to read how the support of Universal Medicine helped you change your life, take responsibility for your choices and open up to love.

  108. I find that work is super supportive in reconnecting to my purpose to life and service to humanity.

  109. I can relate to the string of abusive relationships that did not honor you as a woman. My relationships were not abusive in the physical or violent way, but what I accepted and compromised on, I can now see was abusive. What I have realised is the lack of honouring came from me. I had lost touch with the beautiful woman I am and had significantly downgraded how I treated myself. If we do not treat ourselves lovingly, we cannot expect anyone else to.

  110. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside”. This is the missing link in society. We want to look at everything that is wrong outside but all we need to do is to start rebuilding society from within ourselves. Each building block in society needs to be strong for us to have a solid foundation together.

  111. Hear, Hear SLE. Like you and hundreds/thousands of others, my life has changed enormously due to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. What is incredible is that as I make choices to further commit to a way of living my life that feels true – the ripple affect on others and our environment is HUGE. I see at work the way that more and more people now view me as a reliable and consistent employee. There’s nothing special about me; it’s the integrity that I live with that people feel. This allows them to trust.

  112. Much of my life has slowly turned around all the abusive situations I lived in and the majority of them all were self based or in other words I was my own worst enemy. Thanks to the presentations by Serge Benhayon I have turned my abusive behaviours on their head.

  113. SLE I love how you share that “we often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say”. This is very true that we think this and even say this to each other. But when we ponder on this of course it’s true. We have influenced each other to live in the way we are now and accepting life as it is. Serge Benhayon has opened the door (and so much more) to there is another way, to the grandness we are and we come from and that we get to feel this through being committed to life…everyday.

  114. Meeting Serge Benhayon for me too was an enormous check-point, I will always be forever grateful for him opening my eyes to what commitment to life truly means. It is about being in life, fully, engaging, joyfully so, fully committed while you can see all the suffering and corruption taking place. When we withdraw from the hurt and reaction to what we see, we are actually abating the status-quo. But when we bring ourselves in full with a joyful spring in our step, we bring what humanity desperately needs – inspiration and true reflection for the way it naturally is and can be.

  115. I wonder just how many blogs with this same title could be written by people around the world…

  116. Thanks SLE I needed to read this this morning, committing to people no matter what they may be choosing.

  117. When we measure ourselves and who we are by the parameters of the world outside of ourselves we will always fall short of feeling truly fulfilled, as we can sense deep down that something is missing. It seems to make sense to rebel, escape and blame the state of the world for how we feel, it did for me for some time until the buzz of this distraction wore off and the restlessness of feeling empty was apparent again. But in truth all that we seek is only found within, through connection to our Soul, to who we are. It is from here, from a place of stillness and fullness that we can truly begin to embrace and commit to life and all that we are inescapably connected to and part of, and accept the responsibility of the way we choose to live contributes to shaping the world we live in.

  118. Amazed at the turn around in this story every time I read it. And, to think about all the lies being spread about Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon, which paint a picture that better matches your before life SLE, than what he actually inspires all to do – which is simply return back to who we are.

  119. Just beautiful and very powerful to read SLE, the changes that came in your life and many other people’s lives by understanding the truth presented by Serge Benhayon which is, little by little world changing.

  120. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside.” Hiding in an actual cave or hiding within our own personal cave doesn’t change the world we live in but being part of life we can be inspired by others and inspire others to change the world to bring harmony to all.

  121. SLE another example of complete life turn around from the inspiration you felt after meeting Serge, and as I know its our choices that make the real difference, i.e. what we do with what is presented and what we feel. It still perplexes me why more worldwide studies are not recording the fact that the answer to world problems is already known and your story is a lived example of them.

  122. Hear, hear SLE. I was walking along the same path you have described and as you say, it is a massive illusion many of us fall for. The world is in a mess, and feeling like it is too massive for us to do anything about is an irresponsible trick we can play on ourselves. It takes the tiniest rock to make a ripple, imagine what many rocks could make.

    1. The power of reflection – A gift in truth, however it can be used to mask the ills we live in.

  123. Feeling small in the world must be common, I mean there are billions of people! But like you I no longer feel small and rise each day knowing I can choose to be all I am, and that is never small.

  124. This is so interesting and brought up some very old beliefs that used to try and run me. I actually aspired to ‘living off the grid’ – meaning, not being part of the same electricity systems as everyone else, not voting, not being registered with the government for anything – pretty much not being a visible part of humanity! Thinking about this now feels so wrong and totally irresponsible to the bigger picture. So glad I am actually here and saying YES to being part of humanity, committed and wanting to show who I am to everyone – thanks to Universal Medicine.

    1. I have lived ‘on the grid’ so called, and I feel this so called good when considered with a deeper understanding of energetic responsibility did more harm than the ‘dropouts’ who were at least looking for a different answer. Thank you, Rachael, I can also feel that my life is becoming one of energetic responsibility and energetic integrity because of Universal Medicine.

  125. I too once did not want to be part of society. All I could see was what was wrong with it. At no point did I ever look at my responsibility and was happy to sit on the fringes and complain. Since meeting Serge Benhayon I’m now an active and contributing member of society. The changes in me and the way I live range from subtle to grand. Serge played a very big role in my commitment to life, for which I am eternally thankful.

  126. Every time I feel overwhelmed and things feel too complicated and too much to handle, I have gone ahead of myself and it is wise to commit once again to just one moment at a time, and therefore, stillness is also a responsibility.

  127. Taking responsibility is the best choice I have ever made, it has changed everything, absolutely everything in my life. Nothing is too big when I committed to taking responsibility. The first responsibility to take is the responsibility to be present, so I can only take it one step at a time, one moment at a time, so nothing is overwhelming and too much.

  128. Finding my feet and placing them squarely on the shoulders of responsibility is something I feel is going to be an ongoing process for years to come if not life times! Actually on reflection, responsibility will always be an important part of my expansion.

  129. SLE your turn around is amazing and you have a great story to tell many who might be going through the same. Like you say you cannot run from life, you have to stop, commit to life and start changing it from the inside, that start to change from within ourselves first. Then our changes are reflected out to humanity.

  130. Judgement has got us all no where as a race. We have been judging ourselves, each other and God for aeons and still have many of the ills we started with such as war, murder, rape and senseless abuse.

  131. The part each of us plays (and together) is more important than we know. Being committed to life, people and apparently ordinary everyday things is one of the most important things ever.

  132. SLE you are a perfect case study in what is healing, and what it is that allows true and sustainable change to occur. Such an all-encompassing shift in your health, your relationships, your life in every way… is absolute confirmation of the fact.

  133. Thanks to Serge Benhayon just doesn’t seem to be or every feel like it is enough. What I have learned and been able to reclaim within myself has been monumental. Words actually cannot describe the level of appreciation and love for what I now understand about life, love, space, time, movements, energy – prana and fire, the esoteric modalities, so so much. But here is a huge thank you to you Serge Benhayon, our gift back it to live it, reflect it and share is with every single person we come into contact with.

  134. Absolutely – none of us are the small unimportant beings we consider ourselves to be. There is so much power in being true to yourself and what you feel and living everyday with this dedication. That is what is inspiring, and that is how Serge Benhayon has inspired so many. As the saying goes … The world changes one by one.

  135. Have you ever been in a fully packed tram, skin to skin with all the people around you? In those moments it is easily felt that how we live and are has an effect on everyone around us. The reason such a situation in a tram is not enjoyed most of the times is that almost none of us lives in this responsibility.

  136. This is such a great point . . . “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside” . . Yes as you say it is the only way to make true changes and these changes start within ourselves first and foremost and this instantly changes things around us. We can change our car, our house , and our job but we will only really feel like we have made a sustainable change when we change the very energy we are running on. To run on love or lovelessness is the choice. Looks like you made the right choice SLE.

  137. That last part really summed up how my life has also changed since being introduced to Serge Benhayon in 2011. And what I am coming to appreciate is that committing to life, committing to people which includes myself, working hard, and claiming and taking up my own space in life is not only healthy but the most natural way to be in the world. The tension in life comes when we withdraw and gradually overtime my outlook is changing from reacting and judging myself (which is a reaction) of having withdrawn to questioning and being open to more of me is able to come out and fill the gap of previous withdrawal. Thank you SLE.

  138. It is not that getting a secure job and working 9-5 is the answer, because some of us choose to lose ourselves in that just as much as the ones who opt out of life and run away. Both are forms of giving up on life if we are not living true to who we are and living love in our daily interactions, then life will seem meaningless and harsh.

  139. I remember having a similar feeling of inadequacy when younger – feeling the suffering and the lack of love and care in the world, but also feeling that there was so much of it that I was too small or insignificant to be able to do anything about it. And if we focus on ‘doing something’ then this is how it appears. If we understand energy and how it works, this changes things a lot and suddenly I realised that we all have much more impact on the world than we think by how we live on a daily basis – our way of being is much more powerful than anything we can do.

  140. Incredible transformation you have made SLE. You are an inspiration of what is possible. As we the individual makes changes, the world will change. We can be part of the problem or part of the solution.

  141. It is generally overwhelming when we look out at what is happening in the world and see the chaos and the seemingly unending deeply entrenched string of problems. Until I heard Serge Benhayon present I had found the easiest way to deal with this was to shut down and just focus on myself. However this focus was in a narrow, non caring type of way with an attitude that others would just have to fend for themselves. What Serge presented was quite an eye opener to me as I came to see that the best way to help everyone was to be prepared to learn to develop a very self loving way with myself and to open myself up with others so that they could see exactly what was possible in terms of living this way. Thanks to the work of Serge and his family, the ripple effect is growing as more and more people are changing their lives in this way around the world.

  142. You have described my life quite well, as you stated where you were before Serge Benhayon. We are now living in a world where our before SB has become the new standard for the life we are living. We are told to think outside the box, we took the next step and are living outside of the box. The problem is the box is who we are and have the lost the way back in! All Segre has done is show us the door and told us we are the key to unlocking the door and choose to look inside.

  143. SLE the constant unwavering truth and love which Serge Benhayon lives with and presents with is deeply inspiring and as you say life changing. Serge has been the wake up call many of us have needed to se through the fog and return back to truth. Serge has given us a choice, a choice to live with love, the rest is up to us.

  144. You talk about the harm you were causing yourself and others by withdrawing from life and I appreciate your honesty in this. We can easily delude ourselves that we are heroic in our rebelliousness when we turn our back on something when we are in fact saying no to not just ourselves but a huge potential for learning and evolution.

    1. Whenever we turn our backs on anything we are usually in reaction. And whatever or whoever we have turned our backs on is, as you say Gabrielle the very thing or the very person who was designed to bring us evolution in that moment. If we truly want to evolve then we need to stay put and have a closer look at what the situation is highlighting about us.

  145. Learning how to honour, nurture and love ourselves is such a gift. By taking responsibility and making wise and loving choices we are able to serve humanity in an energetic quality the honours everyone.
Thank you SLE for highlighting this and for sharing your amazing transformation.

  146. Thank you SLE for a beautiful sharing, of turning your life around to be one of true commitment to life, society, and people. Realising the power and responsibility we have in the self loving choices we make and the impact that our lives have on each others.

  147. “I viewed society as the enemy. I saw it as an uncaring, heartless, cold place and wanted as little part of it as I could get away with.” Society is simply a reflection on how we’ve been and how we are in the world.

  148. ‘We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.’ Well said and very true SLE. This is asking us to consider a deeper level of responsibility we have to everyone around us as well as ourselves. Every choice we make in life can either harm or heal, I agree our choices have an impact on others around us, people will either have the opportunity to feel supported and inspired by our choices or harmed by our choices.

  149. It used to be impossible for me to accept the world and the people in it for all my life, yet what I didn’t’ know was that I had no acceptance for me to begin with either. Since meeting Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine, literally EVERYTHING made sense as to why things were the way they were, and how I was not a victim of it, but a contributor to that, and that there was a purpose.

    1. Similarly for me too Fumiyo – understanding why things are the way they are and that there is a purpose to us being here completely changed my outlook on life and the way it is and how it makes sense that each and every one of us without exception has an integral part to play in society and a responsibility to commit to life in full.

  150. ‘We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for’ So true SLE. Every single time we choose to speak up we make a difference. Each one of us can and will make changes once we are willing to feel the joy and power we have when we are responsible.

  151. Yes, humanity’s woes can seem overwhelmingly insurmountable most of the time. However it takes all of us to commit to life and be responsible for calling out the harm in our own unique way when we see it, feel it or hear it. The alternative is apathy followed close at heel by shame for our part in the process of decline that inevitably follows. I’m reminded of that lovely metaphor about the drop in the ocean – how many drops does it take to make an ocean? We’re each of us a drop every time we speak the truth, with our own unique role in the sea that eventually turns the tide.

  152. So beautiful to read and feel that you have learnt to honour yourself and commit to life; this is such a wonderful lesson on self responsibility.
Thank you SLE for sharing your inspirational story.

  153. Thank you SLE for this. I could feel in me a reaction while reading this blog – that belief that we have to do something to make a difference, those thoughts of ‘we don’t have love within and available to us right now’ is a pure illusion as you say. Playing small makes me feel small but in the past I have lived life actively trying to be as small and invisible as possible. It’s one thing to then on the flip side say – if so much effort is being made to play small then how big are we that requires such effort. This has been presented by many over the years I’ve known Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine but how does this fact feel? What if I surrendered to how big I feel, how grand I feel, how open and how much love there is that I am to feel?

  154. So true, Brendon. I have been deeply inspired by Serge Benhayon and other Universal Medicine students but I am also inspirational for others an i need to appreciate this.

  155. I really loved this sentence “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside… It’s easier to stand on the outside pointing the finger and waiting for others to change things for us then it’ll be ok this to was a bit of a default program I had running to, it’s amazing what you can actually do when you reengage with the world.

    1. I realise I had been standing on the outside pointing the finger for most of my life, it wastnt until I came across Universal Medicine that I started to look within and then hay presto my life started to change. Learning to take responsibility goes hand in hand with giving and receiving more love.

  156. The realisation of the ‘play’ on words can be very powerful and ‘playing small’ are some of those words. Is it not true that by playing small we are putting ourselves on a pedestal for others to look up to? Pure illusion. We are so amazing and to simply bring our love to every moment in movement and expression is living the truth and fullness of who we are. We are greeted by the greatness in others in every interaction, spoken or unspoken, and by meeting that in our own fullness is ‘playing big’ in the way we have come back to be. Thanks SLE for exposing the illusion of playing small.

  157. I love this comment “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” I share this with everyone and anyone, we have been so caught in the illusion that we can’t make a difference but one smile, one look, one word can change on other persons trajectory in life, so it is crucial that that look, word, smile comes from knowing the power of love in this world. We have to be engaged in life to make a difference in life. Count me in.

  158. Great testimonial on the benefits of what is presented by Serge Benhayon and also your commitment to self responsibility.

  159. What an amazing turn around in life you have made happen for yourself SLE. Truly amazing, all credit to you for taking on the wisdom presented and having the commitment to see it through to being true to you. A vastly different expression to what you once lived.

  160. ‘I viewed society as the enemy. I saw it as an uncaring, heartless, cold place and wanted as little part of it as I could get away with.’ This is an amazing point to bring up here, as there are many who feel this way about life. Yet there is another way, a way to bring joy and the feeling that there is love all around us, just waiting for us to connect to it.

  161. I could really relate to the line….”I viewed society as the enemy. I saw it as an uncaring, heartless, cold place and wanted as little part of it as I could get away with.” Before coming along to Universal Medicine, I to saw society as the enemy, I was always in a lot of reaction to how people treated each other, I lacked commitment to my job, to myself and cared very little about current affairs, politics or what was going on in my own community. I can only thank with all my heart, Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine, for reflecting all they have and do consistently.

  162. Dear SLE it was a great pleasure to read your honest blog. At my workplace I met people who too feel “too small and insignificant to change anything” It is so beautiful to feel and see when they “find out that this is an illusion and instead allow themselves to feel that they are important and that they have an impact in this world”. It is our job to show people through living it by ourselves that they matter – I was deeply inspired to do so through Serge Benhayon – he was my first role model and he still is and will be it forever!

  163. The missing ingredient in the world today is true love. Serge Benhayon presents and lives life from, in, with, by and through love, a love that is shared with all and inspires all to live love so that love will one day flow through all humanity.

  164. This is an absolute amazing sharing and needs to be deeply appreciated. Your choices and the teachings of Universal Medicine and the work of Serge Benhayon is truly incredible- to see someone so switched off from life and humanity to the point that they are living in a cave! Then make a turn around and work full-time managing a business is HUGE. Thank you for your sharing, Australia needs to hear this along with health services as it is an inspiring story and a way forward for many.

  165. A truly powerful sharing SLE that deserves to be heard by many, many people. To make such a change in life – from the depth of overwhelm and retreat in the face of the callousness and harshness of our world, to actually knowing the power of what one person can bring, when he/she commits, is profound beyond words.
For how many who are seemingly living as a ‘contributing’ part of our societies have truly moved beyond the giving up and overwhelm? How many appear to be living committed lives, but seek in the main to secure their own fortresses and places of safety – to have the things and the means to avoid as much as possible, all that does truly overwhelm…? Are their lives about themselves, or truly aware of the part they can play for all – as you have shared in your blog here.
Hats off to you SLE, for you are a living inspiration. And I can categorically state myself, that without the love and powerful inspiration of the man that is Serge Benhayon, I would also still be living my own version of hiding and not wanting to be a part of it all.
    Thank-you.

  166. One of the big lessons for us in this life is that we are all connected. Our deep connection with ourselves and therefore, everyone else, is the thing that fills us up and shows us that we come from love. This is so joyful that there is no need to escape.

  167. It is amazing how when we see society as heartless, cold and uncaring we become that ourselves and lock away all the love that is there to bring to the world. Serge Benhayon has inspired so many of us with his steadiness and extraordinary love for people, to stop focussing on past hurts and to start to see the beauty in life and people again.

  168. I too feel as if I was running from the world a few years ago; playing the victim, not facing up to people, not really expressing, not being honest. This was all a way of making myself small and not taking responsibility. I allowed a lot of abuse to confirm me as small. I thought I was never the issue – but I was in fact the common thread. Once I dropped the arrogance and actually saw that, I was able to see that perhaps that isn’t really who I am, and perhaps I have a guard up to the world because my first thought is ‘I’ll get hurt’ instead of ‘stay open.’ I am learning to drop this guard – to let people in and let the true me out. To stop running.

  169. It is a mass illusion that we are too small to do anything about the way life is. By being our amazing selves we make a huge difference. By coming back to absolute truth we are an amazing marker for everyone. The more who do this the more encouraged others will be.

    1. So true Amanda. It is so embedded in our consciousness that we are ‘only one person’ and ‘what difference can we make?’ I used to look for obvious and instant outcomes to prove that we can make a difference. However now I just know and trust that without doing anything, we can offer a real difference by the quality of our being.

  170. Wow SLE what an extraordinary turn around from living in a cave on the beach to managing a successful business. Your story is a living miracle and was made possible through the love and support of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. By taking responsibility for yourself you were able to commit more fully to your life, became more engaged with society and began to make loving choices for yourself. This is deeply inspiring to many people and a powerful sharing of what is possible with true love and true support.

  171. I can so relate to your sharing, the inspiration I too have received from Serge Benhayon is immense. The reflection he offers, for each of us to accept or not, is there to behold in our own time. There is a marked transformation within myself as to how I view life, my commitment and how open and willing I am to be loving. He provides a lived example of what we all innately know is within us. Because of Serge we are able to visibly see what it is to live a different way and create the space to make other choices for ourselves.

  172. You were inspired by Serge Benhayon and now in turn you are able to inspire many others through sharing your story. As you have now found and presented for the world to know responsibility and commitment to life are key to living a true life.

  173. I agree SLE we can ‘often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say..’ it’s true, it is a mass illusion. If we know we are all connected and know it deeply within us, then can we really sit in the comfort of the illusion that what we choose for ourselves is not going to have repercussions for everyone else and the environment (Earth) with life?

  174. I ran away from life in very different ways to you SLE; but none the less still ran away.
There are times today when that feeling of numbing or running away still haunts me, causing anxiousness and nervousness. Taking responsibility and committing to life, i.e. not running away, is absolutely the key.
Serge Benhayon and his family are wonderful examples of fully committing to life; the truth he presents is life changing.

  175. A great question, Ariana. The inspiration that Serge Benhayon has offered to those who have chosen to listen has been nothing short of life changing for so many people. This inspiration will be one that is felt for a very long time through those who have made those choices to be, not ‘just like Serge’, but to be themselves. This is as a part of the exploration of what that means to truly be one’s self, it is truly living with that knowingness, and it has been inspired by Serge Benhayon simply living what has felt true for himself.

  176. When we run away from life and society because it is too overwhelming we are giving up on our selves as well as other people. I can see that if this is happening on mass, then it is understandable why the world is in the state that it is today, but I also see very clearly, if we each change and commit to life, how we can turn this around.

  177. Thank you SLE for committing to be a part of humanity again. We’re all blessed to have you back in the brotherhood. The changes that you have made are inspirational, thank you for sharing.

  178. More and more I am learning that ‘doing life’ is not the same as committing to life. When I worked hard and played hard I was living in a mental energy, a drive always in the next moment and looking for the next thing. This was actually a way to escape life, as in not wanting to really feel it and my part in it. There are so many ways that we have found to escape life and be in distraction and most of them are pretty good disguises so we can all agree to not expose them and keep going in this way. But we are starting to see the praise we pay for it and that the race to escape is getting faster and more intense, how much longer can we continue? For me it is about getting very real, with my feet in the Clay, doing everything that needs to be done with energetic responsibility and integrity.

  179. Tanya, your table of facts clearly shows the difference between these two organisations. When I was younger I lived with nuns in a Buddhist monastery and though the people were very dedicated and disciplined, their lifestyle was also one of escaping ‘the real world’. Universal Medicine presents a religion for people of all walks of life who are involved in everyday living and are endeavouring to bring love to whatever they do. Since being with Universal Medicine I have come to realize how much I was hiding and holding back from committing to life and now at 70yrs of age I feel I am just beginning my real work. Retirement is not an option as there is so much needing to be done to restore harmony to a corrupt world.

  180. Absolutely Ariana, the impact of one or many living what is true for them has the power to make more change than anything else ~ because it’s real, it’s lasting and it’s all about living ones true qualities and not holding back from claiming how amazing life can be and can turn lives completely around, just as in the experience here of SLE.

  181. Thank you for sharing your story SLE, I am deeply inspired by your commitment to life and as you say you are a pivotal part in that commitment and in bringing about true change to the world. We make the difference in life by truly serving, that is by being true to ourselves and bringing this truth of who we know ourselves to be into every facet, nook and cranny of daily living. This is how we inspire people, by being real, being dedicated to ourselves and humanity and enjoying the whole process!

  182. So many of us have had major life turn arounds thanks to Serge Benhayon, It’s such a huge thing to realise that we are not insignificant and because all is energy everything we do has an impact one way or the other.

  183. Wow that’s a pretty amazing story, to have your life turn around like that is no mean feat there’s a strength to been seen and shown that anything is possible with the reflection of love and when taking responsibility for ourselves is presented, Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon are all of these.

  184. After reading this story (and many others) of someone committing to life through the support and inspiration of Serge Benhayon and the esoteric work no one can any longer
judge or claim Universal Medicine or the true ‘esoteric’ way of living to be airy-fairy, secretive, exclusive, withdrawing from life, separating people, destroying relationships or else. The true esoteric means full commitment to being oneself, to all of life, to people and to service for humanity.

  185. I had a moment of exhaustion and overwhelm when reading your blog but the sentence ‘Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society…’ immediately made me reconnect to people and the bigger picture I am part of and have a responsibility to contribute to and I can feel now how I am reviving.

  186. Commitment to life, to really being part of it, being me in full in every area of life is super powerful, for oneself but also for everyone else as we bring something that enriches and inspires everyone around us. Taking full responsibility makes us burst for life and the willingness to feel and care and stand strong in love and truth is amazing.

    1. I agree Alex, commitment to life is super powerful and supportive for everyone, including ourselves. And it is natural for us to commit to life in full, it is holding back that is a drain and not of our true nature.

  187. Committing to life, yes I can relate to not having wanted to be a part of the world as it was, having given up on life and trying to change some areas. Now, with commitment and purpose back I understand how I am makes a difference and contributes in a harming or healing way.

  188. Your whole blog is a great testament to having to be engaged in life to make a difference in life SLE and I thank you for the confirmation. When you say “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” We have an affect on everything just like the ripples on water from a drip, it is not always seen but it is always felt by someone somewhere. If we choose to contribute, then those drips start to make a body of water for others to swim in. Imagine each drip of love having that effect. I imagine it would make the world less prone to mans inhuman behaviour towards man.

  189. Great question Ariana and one that should be documented, how the life of one man inspired thousands of others to change who then went on to inspire others. The knock on effect is truly remarkable, many thousands of lives today living more healthy, vitality and joy-fully and yet never having heard of or met Serge Benhayon. Such is the true power of inspiration and all it takes is one. To all the ones out there, thank you.

    1. Yes Caroline, we are all indeed the one who can inspire others and this brings with it a responsibility to live with love and integrity and yet it doesn’t have to be a burden – it’s just a natural expression of the love within and the more we connect to that, the more it expands out as we have seen with the enormous impact that Serge Benhayon has had on many thousands of lives.

  190. A fabulous account SLE – thank you for sharing this amazing turnaround in your life. Your words felt deeply honest and real and made me deeply reflect on similar choices that I have made since meeting Serge Benhayon and attending Universal Medicines presentations.

  191. It’s interesting how we can perceive the whole of society to be our enemy, when now I realise I have been my own worst enemy in my life. So learning to honour myself and treating myself with gentleness and love is what I have gained through listening to Serge Benhayon’s presentations. And the effects of this are extraordinary, and totally life changing.

    1. Yes Esther, very true, we can blame society, the world, anyone other than ourselves for not stepping into our lives, growing up, engaging, but in the end the main person to suffer is ourselves.

  192. SLE, I can totally relate to what you share, and it has been very similar for me; trying to ‘stay out of harm’s way’ or go ‘under the radar’, to not have to be a part of the mess we can feel in the world. Through attending workshops with Universal Medicine and Presentations by Serge Benhayon I became to clearly understand that the mess in this world is also my responsibility, and by not claiming my space in it all, I am allowing it all to keep going and getting worse. How can things change when we all decide it’s too hard, I’m not playing anymore? I have totally changed the way I have lived too, thank you again SLE for what you have expressed here.

  193. I so relate to your experience SLE and I too ran, and hid and moved and withdrew from life. I am now currently on the mend and healing all of my feelings around the world being ‘too much’, ‘too intense’, ‘ too overwhelming’ and I am learning to live from my inner essence first and from this place observing the world and all its troubles and leaning not to get caught up in the issues but to just see them and bring my light and love to them.

  194. I had no commitment to life for so many years, and felt I did not belong here in this ugly world where no true love could be found – hence my life was a contant struggle full of complication. Since meeting Serge Benhayon and attending his courses, my life has totally transformed and now I am able to commit fully to life and most of all have a desire (which I never had before) to connect with people and to just be myself around them.

    1. Yes jacqmcfadden04, it’s the same for me, even though it did take me a bit longer to really get the message of what Serge Benhayon was presenting, but his ongoing love and support meant that I did not want to stay away, even though the level of responsibility required did and can feel a bit uncomfortable sometimes, lets say : ).

    2. I agree jacqmcfadden04. What Serge Benhayon presented made sense of all that was going on around and in me. He shared with me the tools I always had but had forgotten to use.

    3. Beautiful jacmcfadden04 – I can very much relate to this. I didn’t have any idea that not committing to life was the reason that I was always feeling tired and worn out. Life has certainly transformed since meeting Serge Benhayon.

  195. Thank you SLE for sharing your life’s turn around. We are all very sensitive people and accurately feel the lack of love in humanity, and this can be overwhelming. Some people shut down their sensitivity so they do not feel the extent of it. This struck a chord with me: “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” Serge Benhayon encourages us to live a full and loving life at the same time as feeling the extent of the lack of love in the world.

    1. Yes Bernard we are all each individually immensely powerful, when connected to God and the universe anything is possible just look at Serge Benhayon and his family; they are direct examples of what can be achieved when we no longer play small and victims of life.

    2. Bernard what a important and valid point – we think we can’t change the world and often try to look for big changes without appreciating that we all have the power to impact and effect every person on this planet and all those around us. Either we all grow, expand and evolve or not. therefore we are far more powerful than we think and that I feel I can truly grasp at this point.

    3. Extraordinary to read this blog and these comments of people re-committing to life and learning to see it in a whole new way. It is very very inspiring and Serge Benhayon is quietly leading a revolution.

      1. Ha ha yes Sarah he is!! The most loving revolution on record I reckon. No violence just a revolution of love and engagement in life. Truly starting to value the contribution we make and starting from the very start with the next generation. Watch out world, a more caring, loving world is calling!

  196. A very powerful revelation to realize that in order for things to change in life, we need to be a part of it and this change begins with how we are with ourselves.

  197. I can echo the first sentence you write SLE … I certainly wasn’t ready to admit that my life was a mess, that I was allowing abusive relationships and I was running away from the pain I felt from being in life, but this was the truth of how I was when I first met Serge Benhayon. I was in reaction rather than being the change I wanted for the World. The loving presence that he holds was a stopping point for me to begin to feel the magnitude of this and begin committing to life again.

  198. It feels amazing in how you have completely changed your life around SLE. A beautiful sharing and one that when read would inspire another to truly look at how they commit to life in full or not. Until meeting and listening to what Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon presented I too was running away from truth – the truth of how I was committing to life and shunning taking responsibility for all my choices. To see and feel so many making those choices for themselves and showing the world that we can make a difference – like you have, no more hiding in caves.

  199. To truly change things we do indeed need to be a part of it, whatever it is, and then we can change things from the inside. Looking at ourselves and our behaviours and then making different choices is so important. Otherwise we are viewing the world with an arrogance, just on-lookers. Every choice we do make is important. The old adage ‘from little acorns oak trees do grow’ is so relevant.

  200. I remember a saying that being so broke meant; that if trips around the world cost 5 cents you could not afford to get out of town. Well, if you are trying to run away from your problems it is real hard to run away. The military pays you to go away, there are a few conditions to employment that have a tendency to restructure your expectations of this job and your choices. Small things like War or Peace Keeping things. But they did pay to you run and get out of town. I have been there, have done that and got the Tee shirt. I always like the saying that you can run away from your problems but you can’t run away from your feet. I got a Tee shirt for that also. Universal Medicine has allowed me to make choices that I never have had to run from. I am now committed to life and all that it brings.

  201. A very touching and inspiring blog about your life you have shared with us SLE, when you spoke about having as little to do with society as you could get away with, it reminded me of how I lived in the past at times, feeling that the problems of the world were to big for me to make any difference and then giving up on committing to life.

  202. Thank you SLE for your blog, you have brought to my awareness that travel can be a huge distraction and escaping form committing to life and responsibility. I spend many of my life travelling and searching for something outside of me happiness, through connecting to myself I have found that there is nothing more joy-full and fulfilling, than simply being myself.

  203. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside… not running away or turning a blind eye, or using distractions such as travelling, sugar, alcohol or caffeine.”
Thank you for sharing SLE. My life has very much changed from deeply given up and holding back, not committing to life: work and relationships to bringing myself and love in all areas. Understanding and learning how powerful we all are and how much energy we have once we stop getting ourselves out of the way to serve.

  204. Awesome blog – if we truly care about the world and want it to change from the suffering, struggle and disharmony that we see all around us, then we must look first within for the world becomes what it is through us all making choices each moment. This is our key forward, to make choices from a deep connection, care and honoring within – changing the world from the inside out rather than hiding from our power and responsibility and sitting in blame and overwhelm.

  205. I have had this realisation myself “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside.” I spent a lot of life hiding and feeling sadness and rage at what was going on in the world. I now participate more fully in life and in so doing I am feeling that step by step I can make changes that ripple out further than my life alone.

  206. I thought I was always committed to life but the difference between back then, before I attended Universal Medicine presentations, and now since being a student for 7 years, is the responsibility I take for how my life is; not blaming others or asking others to change, but through honesty, understanding what I can change in me and feeling what I bring to others by bringing more of myself to each day through consistently making more of these self loving choices.

    1. Before I met Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine I did not really realise what commitment to life truly was or that it was even necessary. Since attending many presentations by Serge Benhayon I have come to more deeply understand what this means and live it more and more.

  207. SLE this is inspiration. Living in a cave?…sleeping on beaches? What an amazing turn around in your living and wonderful that you have shared it with us to know what can be the result when one commits to themselves and takes responsibility to bring all of who they are to the world so others can also feel the way back. Thank you

  208. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…” I love this, as it highlights the responsibility we all have, that we are the only ones who can actually make the choice to change the way we live and that no-one can do it for us, but also so empowering isn’t it? That ultimately we have in ourselves such a huge power to make such great change.

  209. It was so good to read your blog SLE. If each and every one of us only knew how important we are individually, how we can help the world by showing love to another. How the world can change, and it is up to us.

  210. It is easy to think that if we feel that things are not right in the world and simply withdraw from human life and its problems that we are not contributing to the mess, but by not bringing the fullness of who we are to the world we are actually saying that we condone things to stay as they are and we are actually harming society as you say SLE.

    1. Yes I agree andrewmooney26. There are many people who abuse themselves but would never treat others or animals in the same way. Imagine giving your dog a cigarette or never taking it for a walk for example or constantly nagging and criticising your child. Becoming aware of how much harming ourselves harms others is often a trigger for us to start to make more self-loving choices. Strange that it takes that to break the cycle!

    2. As you suggest andrewmooney26, considering ‘self responsibility’ really turns everything on its head. I have often thought I was attacked and I have seen sorrow in the world and I chosen to hide or play it small in life because of what was not ‘right’ with the world. And by doing this I was condoning what I felt was not true. Withdrawal from society does not reduce the pain, disorder and chaos which occurs. Participating and expressing our true selves as much as we are able, truly counters that which does not feel truthful and loving. It require self responsibility. Thank you for sharing.

      1. Yes Samantha and andrew – I have found the same – withdrawal from the world only allows that which is hurtful and not love to flourish and thrive, so is just as harming as those who are obviously abusive. I am understanding that each are protecting their hurts, just in different ways, and both ways are confirming the world as an unloving and dangerous place. So it can only start with us. The more fully committed we are in the world, expressing what we know to be true, the more others can see there is another way possible – that it doesn’t have to be a cold unloving corrupt and vengeful world.
And the bonus is, by choosing to reconnect to ourselves and to people – and be fully present and engaged – the things which originally hurt us no longer contain the same potency, or rather we have become so full of love, that abuse is seen and understood, and can no longer affect us.

  211. I can really relate to feeling I had no option but to withdraw from society because I could not understand why people chose so wilfully to hurt others including myself. I reached a point where I just could not stand it anymore. For me it was a giving up on life because I had no idea how to either heal from my experiences or deal with what I knew would continue to happen when I ventured out again. With the support of Universal Medicine I have been able to substantially recover from all of this, still taking step by step, to trust people and myself in life again.

  212. I agree SLE what is the point of criticizing humanity and running away or indulging in drugs etc, because we do not like what we see. We can take responsibility for what we notice is not true, contribute to life and bring the change that is so needed. Imagine if each one of us did this instead of thinking we cannot make a difference.

    1. well said marylouisemyers, it is all to easy to blame what we see and want to run away, I have done the same and still do at times, because I don’t like what i feel and see, but in doing this I at times, without realising take on the sadness of what I see, which doesn’t help or make a difference, I end up caught in it, which leaves me unclear and adding to it. Rather than able to step back, observe, acknowledge, have understanding and act on anything if needed.

  213. I was deeply touched reading your honest and amazing blog SLE. Once we give up on life everything feels to overwhelming and to much to handle. But it is possible to turn around your live choosing love and become responsible for your live, this is also my own experience i have made.
What an inspiring story you have shared with us, thank you!

  214. SLE I can relate to your whole story, the giving up and running away, but thanks to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine I got to see and feel how it feels when someone is absolutely totally one hundred percent committed to love and holding that love for all equally and in equalness.. and also go to feel the bleakness and desolation of how I had been living, towards myself and all others – and understood that this is exactly what I was contributing to the world by the non-commitment and dismissal of life. Once you feel the difference, the choice is becomes clear. The most so-called intelligent minds in the world have not made a difference. It is Love that makes the difference.

    1. I agree Annie once you have felt the difference between total commitment to love and humanity and withdrawal and non-commitment it is a very clear choice. It only takes one person to reflect to everyone that this commitment is not only possible but very simple to do and the ripple effect just from one person is massive. So imagine if we all committed to love and humanity in this way?

      1. Yes andrewmooney26, how would humanity look then? It takes only one person to reflect how it is possible, so we can know how it feels to be met with this. And once felt, the light inside that sparks up to meet this starts to shine out of its own accord – then others will recognise the same inside them and ignite also from within. Imagine that ripple effect out in every direction, and dimension. Not just the world but the whole Universe will light up.

    2. Well said Annie – at the end it is love that makes all the difference. Serge Benhayon is a great example of one man who made the choice to live and express love and the whole world has changed (whether people know it or not)!!! The love that you and I are speaking of is available to all of us equally and can only express to all equally. Furthermore it does not have one ounce of emotion in it. It is also described here: http://www.unimedliving.com/unimedpedia/word-index/unimedpedia-love.html at Unimedpedia Love.

      1. Great point Nicola, we heap abuse on ourselves usually far more than on anyone else. So if we take the first steps and let go of the constant criticism and self-judgement, we can learn to allow love for ourselves fully – as it is then we have the capacity for loving all others.

    3. I love how you have said so-called intelligent minds here Annie. Because how we have used the word intelligent based on the recall of information does not feel true especially as you have shared, that the choice of how to live is clear once we have felt what love really is. Should not this be the definition of intelligence – choosing to live a life from love?

  215. You have made some fantastic choices SLE to return to society and show how we can live in a way that is not ruled by caffeine, alcohol and sugar. It is interesting and amazing to learn of all the ways that people use to cope and get by in life. Sometimes even those that seem completely immersed in society and the centre of all the action are also struggling with how the world is. By all accounts, my life appeared to be going quite well. After meeting Serge Benhayon and working with Universal Medicine I now understand what being well actually means.

    1. “Sometimes even those that seem completely immersed in society and the centre of all the action are also struggling with how the world is.” This I have noticed is key Simone because not only for everyone else but also for ourselves we find it hard to accept that we are actually struggling with an area of life or have an issue in some part of our life where we have been hurt in the past, and as long as we don’t accept what is going on for us then we can’t take that first step on healing the issue

      1. Yes Oliver, I guess first we must come to an awareness about what is really going on and in general, we only develop that awareness through being honest about the fact that the way we are living in not truly working. For me, this honesty came from and continues to come from my body. Any illness and discomfort that I have felt or feel in my body is constantly communicating to me that there is more love to allow in to my life. More of the love that I am to share with the world. But yes, accepting where I am now and the loveliness of me in every moment is an important part of accepting myself and everyone else. There is a beautiful audio about acceptance here http://www.unimedliving.com/the-livingness/who-we-truly-are/accepting-your-divinity.html.

  216. Honouring for women, is the antidote to abuse. When we honour ourselves, consistently so, we build to a point where abuse is no longer allowed, or even fathomable, in our relationships.

  217. Once we feel the truth of what the Ageless Wisdom presents there is no turning round: time is up as far as flitting around is concerned and it is time to get on with the job of growing up and not blaming others for our predicament or withdrawing from life.

    1. I love this Gabriele it is so true, when presented with the real truth no longer can we deny what we are in fact creating. We then have a very clear choice to make to change and choose love and purpose or to carry on choosing harm.

  218. There are numerous Universal Medicine WEB sites and blog areas with thousands of comments. Research can show with large numbers of responses to be a more accurate representation of trends. I have observed a trend reading comments for 3 years now that the number of people including mine that the life’s we were living before finding Universal Medicine were filled with… pain, hurts, disease, drugs of any description, addictions to anything that was not loving from relationships to food to the other end of the scale were everything was fine but something was missing… this was our normal complex life. Once we are re-introduced to our true self that has been sitting on a dusty shelf some where deep inside of us, just a bit of work begins it back to shine once again for all to see that there is another way.

  219. It is easy to fall into the comfort of playing small and feel there is no way we can make a difference but as you have mentioned SLE it is only a choice to commit to self first and bring that to the world. Each and everyone of us have so much to contribute, support and inspire others in their own path of evolution and all we have to do is just be who we are.

    1. I agree Francisco, it was only when I began to actually commit to life and all those around me that I actually started being able to notice all that I can bring to a myriad of situations

  220. Your story feels very familiar to me, and I like you am also learning to embrace life thanks to the guidance and support of Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon.

    1. I am in the same boat Joe. The experience of embracing life like I did when I was a child is proving to be a very special experience. I can understand why some people say how being student of life is such a wonderful thing.

  221. It is hard to feel all that’s going on in the world and not feel overwhelmed at times. Living life, loving life is truly amazing and when we are in that loving relationship with ourselves, loving others is so much easier. If we can feel energy for what it is and stop taking things personally. For me this is a work in progress but one I am loving.

  222. SLE your old view of seeing society as ‘the enemy’ is one that many people share, or at least many people view certain parts of society as the enemy. When I consider this in more detail it feels like this then means that we are viewing ourselves or at least parts of ourself as the enemy as, in truth, we are all one connected body of God. There is actually no us and them, we are all the All. One united truth.

    1. Great comment Alexis – so full of gold. The main message I got was that it is much easier for some people to keep society at arms length as the enemy because there is a part of us that wants to stay in comfort. We do this because we don’t want to actually admit and feel our part – to feel our responsibility – in creating the pain and emptiness that we can feel in the world. But by delaying this process, we are continuing to contribute to it. When we take responsibility and confront what we have been hiding from as shared by SLE, we can be the change from the inside-out; because has working from the outside-in ever really worked anyway?

    2. I agree, I used to have the view of everyone is an enemy unless they are super close with me. This brought me to a separation from humanity as I became a sort of hermit. Not quite to the extremes of living in a cave.

      1. The open road can be just like a cave… travelling in far off wild places, you can easily shut off from people or engage a little bit, and then run for the hills! so no-one can get too close, and it means you can be a hermit surrounded by people, and it has better scenery than a cave. The same feelings though are inescapable, we know it is not the answer and is only serving to not face something we know one day we need to face.

  223. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside… not running away or turning a blind eye, or using distractions such as travelling, sugar, alcohol or caffeine.” This is truly inspiring SLE. The fact that you chose to take responsibility for your life and turn it around 180 degrees is amazing and indeed a miracle. This is a story worth sharing with the world.

  224. The corporate world has stolen our democracy thank god for Serge Benhayon who presents with such genuine authority that everyone matters equally and we all have a place in the world and that we can make a difference by the way we live each day.

  225. Thank you SLE, “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…” I have been feeling this lately, and how I too have ‘run’ from things. It is very interesting and amazing to begin to commit to life more, to let people in and to be ‘in’ life and to change it. Feeling the utter and constant support of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine (and all it’s modalities and branches) along the way. If not, this would completely not be possible.

  226. SLE spot on with what I too have gained from Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. I now can look at the world and not want to run, but feel I am a major part of how it is lived. It is indeed one of the greatest illusions that we believe ourselves to be too small to change anything. Believe we are small and small we shall stay. Know we are great and watch the greatness grow.

    1. Beautifully expressed Kimweston2 – we have the ability to be God on earth and heal the terror and separation that clouds the masses – this is absolutely challenging at times but I am connecting more and more with this purpose and know that the most subtle changes to how I am with myself has a huge impact on humanity. We all have a huge and glorious responsibility to live the love we are and reflect that to the world – Like Serge Benhayon, thank God he said yes to this responsibility so others may feel Heaven through our bodies too. We are so very Grand indeed.

  227. I can sooo relate to what you are writing about SLE, from both the angle of shunning society and being completely uncommitted to myself and life and secondly of being inspired and supported by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine to take responsibility for, and recommit to myself and my life and as time went by to humanity. A miraculous turn around for us both!

  228. Whilst certain things in life have also hurt me SLE and as a consequence I had also withdrawn from work and society to a degree, their was always still a burning light inside me that could not wait to claim my part in society again, working hard and committing to life and people. I have come to feel that for me this is everything; to engage life and work alongside my brothers is entirely what it is all about.

    1. Absolutely Dean and there are many who feel like this and withdraw from life. However as you, SLE and many others have found, once you are drawn to meet Serge Benhayon and listen to his presentations, ‘the burning light’ that is always alit inside each and every person, has a chance to ignite into a burning flame that lights the way back to being committed to life and claiming their part in society.

      1. ” ‘the burning light’ that is always alit inside each and every person, has a chance to ignite into a burning flame that lights the way back”
Lighting the way for our return, back to me, back to all, back to brotherhood, back to one.

    2. Well said Dean – to commit to life and people is really the key to a true way of being. When we hold back, we are lost, we can’t contribute something to the world. When we connect to our divinity we are a true reflection for other people and we can show, that there is another way to live.

      1. If i didn’t get involved in life, and I mean completely committed to all aspects of it including work, family, relationships, health, being religious, expressing myself, communicating clearly and so on, I cant see how life could possibly work. Being idle and disengaged has always felt like a death sentence to me.

  229. “Through his loving reflection I realised the harm I was causing to myself and the harm I was causing to society by not being fully committed to life”. There comes a time in many peoples’ lives when they have a choice, more of the same, or truth. You choose truth SLE and have gone from strength to strength. Thanks to Serge Benhayon I choose truth too. I came down with a bump in the realisation that I had never really committed to life, or committed to me in a way that was truly honest or loving. Serge Benhayon has shown me what true commitment is by reflecting back to me a way of living that can only be imagined and is not too good to be true, it is possible to live a loving, harmonious, joyful life, and live in contentment, which is something that eludes most of society. Bravo SLE for venturing out of your cave into a true way of living, one that can be had by all.

    1. Sandra, Also I am at a level of my life where I am able to see more of truth and commit to this truth. Great sharing SLE about your return to truth.

  230. I could say meeting all people changes my life to some extent. Serge Benhayon is no exception. Although he would not take credit for it, meeting him has changed my life and all the changes have been instigated by me. It is a challenging path, but is always beautiful and full of learning.

    1. “all the changes have been instigated by me. It is a challenging path, but is always beautiful and full of learning.”
That’s what I love about Serge Benhayon. He only presents what he knows and the rest is up to us. Jinya, I agree totally it can be testing quite often but when I don’t struggle with what I am being presented with in life and take the learning offered I can feel the love and grace available to be part of.

  231. This was a truly fascinating blog to read. The transition from literally hiding away in a cave to becoming a manager in business is a huge one to make in a relatively short space of time. What comes through strongly was the overwhelm at life you felt, but how learning to commit starts to address this. Thank you for sharing SLE.

  232. Amazing how you chose not to be a victim or hopeless for the world but instead chose to take responsibility for you and the life you live.

  233. The responsibility that you have taken for your life is such a blessing, because with it comes freedom. I have deeply felt this as I have become ever more pro-active in my life and the world around me. And this is such a crazy irony. The whole reason we go running off travelling the world, or living in cave, or whatever, is because we think it gives us freedom. You only have to read the most mainstream travel magazine and the word freedom is littered all over the place. Running away does not set yourself free. You will always be looking over your shoulder at the choices you have made and the issues you have ignored.

    1. What you are saying ottobathurst makes so much sense about that word “freedom”. I spent my life running away from me as I did not want to look at the ugly choices I had made, take responsibility, grow up and be real. Burying my issues and ignoring them made me very ill to say the least.
After coming across Universal Medicine 10 years ago, I can honestly say it was a final stop in a true way. I was able to take off my running shoes and learn how to take care of myself and commit to life in all areas. With consistency I now claim that I live a life of true responsibility and that it does require me to be open and honest about what is actually going on and the freedom I can now feel leaves me with no pull to go running again.

      1. Love that – “Universal Medicine – the last stop.” So true. After hearing what has been presented to me by Universal Medicine and by embracing The Way of the Livingness then holidays/running away/freedom all take on a very different taste. And now there are plenty of amazing adventures to be had travelling through my hurts, facing my past choices, accepting the glory that I am, embracing the evolution that is offered to me every second. Beats riding a motorbike through the desert – hands down!

      2. I agree Bina, I have no desire to get back on the bus that took me further and further away from myself under the guise of freedom. I choose my own direction now, and it is The way of the Livingness.

    2. Hello ottobathurst and yes it’s like the world is upside down when it comes to the word ‘freedom’. As you say, “The responsibility that you have taken for your life is such a blessing, because with it comes freedom.” So responsibility brings freedom and I agree and yet the world will tell you otherwise depending on where you look from. ‘Freedom’ can come in any moment and that comes from connecting and feeling what is there to be felt, from there choosing the next point to do the same. As you say, “Running away does not set yourself free” and this blog from SLE highlights an extreme measure of that. We need to face what is there to be felt and from there face the next part and so on. This is true freedom for me. Thank you Otto.

    3. I agree ottobathurst and SLE, I was also in the place where I was travelling the world and truly thought it would set me free. In truth after some years I found myself more and more in a prison as I used the travelling to run away and to check out. Even visiting the most beautiful places in the world my life got more and more boring and I was very unsatisfied and sad.
By learning to know Serge Benhayon I understood what I was doing and through his huge support and his deeply understanding and holding love I was able to turn my life around and start to be part of the society, start to understand and love people again, to enjoy my work and to see and understand that my commitment to love people again encourages others to be more open again themselves. I deeply appreciate Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon for bringing this understanding and light to the world.

      1. It is true what you say about it becoming boring. In fact I started to feel this way even before I came across Universal Medicine. I could really feel the lack of purpose in it all. Now, even if you dangled the most luxurious travel brochure in front of my eyes, I’d say no, because I know that it would be of no service to me and even worse, it would take me out of my life and thus I would stop being of service to humanity.

    4. well said ottobathurst and another huge exposure of how we keep ourselves in the quest of freedom. I travlled a lot when I was younger and was always contemplating my next job, moving to another country or simple letting everything drop and choose a whole other lifestyle, trying to escape as much as I could. I have come to see that the shackles I wanted to break free from were inside of me, the ideals and beliefs I had taken on from life around me. So of course my new found freedom never lasted, as I was taking me with me everywhere I went. Until I came upon Universal Medicine and found that true freedom lies within and comes from undoing all those patterns and behaviours that unwittingly control us. And with this freedom and strength within myself being an active part of society has become a joy.

      1. Such a joy to read – “the shackles I wanted to break free from were inside me”. When I was travelling a lot my partner at that time sent me a fabulous greeting card. It was a cartoon. First picture – a man in a suit climbing a mountain. 2nd picture – he is getting near the top of the mountain. 3rd picture – he hauls himself up on to the top of the mountain. 4th picture – already standing on the mountain is a carbon copy of him. “Tom was very disappointed when he finally found himself”. Perfectly exposing the illusion of the travel industry!!

    5. Absolutely Otto, running away does not set you free, it only increases our own incarceration into patterns and behaviours we have to choose to avoid feeling the tension of knowing that we are running away – from what we could be and what we could bring, and what we could learn but are refusing . And the anxiousness doesn’t dissipate only runs more deeply, and issues become more entrenched,… and so whatever the adventure, it’s just an illusion of freedom that helps us repress the knowing that we are actually even more imprisoned.

      1. I remember the feeling so clearly. Of being in amazing places in the world and feeling empty, of knowing that this isn’t it. Indeed, the more amazing the place, the greater the emptiness. Now I see why, now this make’s absolute sense – the greater the illusion the further away from our truth we are. And that really hurts. So how do we ignore the pain – book another holiday and spend six months looking forward to it, rather than living in the emptiness of the today.

    6. So true Otto – running away is not an option. I did this for a long time in my life. I didn’t want to feel my hurts. Since I become more honest with myself and since I’m more brave to feel what is coming up in my body, I enjoy life much more. Life starts to unfold in front of my eyes and that is just beautiful.

  234. From living in a cave to this…..”I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside.” Now THAT is what I call a miracle.

    1. It sure is a Miracle – to be that isolated and distant from the world and to now being fully apart of it and to be working on making changes within and around you is seriously a Miracle. Universal Medicine is teaching a way of living that is supporting us to be with all of humanity which is clearly expressed in this blog.

    2. I think we have the power to change and influence the things around us more than we ever realised.

      1. Or is it that we have always known this, but have resisted the responsibility that comes with fully living this fact? What I mean is – are we playing dumb on purpose? I know that I have, and still do at times. Taking full responsibility for what I have created and accepting my part in the devastation that society lives, is a huge step and one that I have massively resisted. And I have definitely done that knowingly.

  235. Such a great blog SLE, Thankyou. I used to stand on the sidelines a lot, fence-sitting as a way of avoiding rejection, except when I was out on demonstrations protesting against this and that. Those of us in the various movements never looked to ourselves to change. Since coming to Universal Medicine I now know that the only way to truly change anything is to start with myself. When I reflect out all of who I truly am, then everyone receives that quality. It becomes less about doing and more about being first.

  236. The topic of committing to life is enormous. I used to be really good at pinpointing everything that was not right in the world and get upset about it. Yet I had placed myself on the sideline and felt that it was others that created and sustained the mess. However trough Serge Benhayon’s presentations I have come to see my own part in it. I now know that every choice I make in the day, the quality I live in impacts on the entire world around me. Knowing this and claiming the responsibility whilst being in every way a part of life is what true commitment is about.

    1. “the quality I live in impacts on the entire world around me.”
Caroline, I’ve come to love the understanding around this fact and have experienced the truth of it. Since bringing more awareness to the quality of how I do everything on a daily basis, I have seen and felt the shift that has taken place in all my relationships, at home, work, with family friends and work colleagues as well as with myself. Truly amazing teaching by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine.

      1. I have felt the same Elizabeth but in truth the fullness of it has only been every now and then and not a consistency. In the past week I have seen how a true commitment to life is much deeper then just being busy with doing (many) things. I have found that all in all it was still just scratching the surface of what commitment to life actually means. Big ouch but also very inspiring to take the next step.

    2. Disengaging from life and standing on the sidelines is what creates the misery. We know we are co-creative beings and committing to life is key to bringing back the joy of feeling the connection with the all that is. We are responsible for the misery that has been created however there is much to celebrate once we wake up and realise we have a choice.

      1. “Disengaging from life and standing on the sidelines is what creates the misery.” I would agree Suzanne,I have found when I am not fully committed to life or myself then the misery and given upness sneaks in – but this can and has been changed instantly by choosing to commit to the moment I am in, to myself, the people around me and what I am doing. I am always amazed by how completely different I feel in a split second – and say to myself ‘just goes to show everything is energy’. It shows that we do have a choice and it’s what we are choosing that creates the life w know.

    3. Carolien, I can very much relate to what you say here – I too used to point my fingers outwards, not for a second considering that I am actually equally part of creating the mess – maybe not physically so, but by not speaking up I am equally responsible for it all.

  237. SLE what you share is huge : if we want to change society we need to be a part of it, in full no holding back and no avoiding of all that is there that we all have an equal responsibility for.

    1. I agree absolutely Carolien we can’t avoid the ‘all’ that is there for us to take our ‘equal’ responsibility in the original creation.

    2. That’s it Carolien, we are all equally responsible for the world we live in – we have the opportunity to fully engage or withdraw or stand by passively while the world around us spins out its dramas. If we have not committed to bringing all of ourselves and the truth of what we live to the world then we are denying the world the chance to know something different and every reason to continue down its self-destructive path.

      1. absolutely Annie, I love how you mention the staring by passively as this we do much more then we think. The occasional dinner conversation or complaining about a situation does not change it. It takes us all to make a change in how engaged we are willing to be, and how much we are willing to change our own ways to show a different way.

    3. Yes Carolien – we can’t wait for anybody, it is our responsibility to go out and meet people and show through our livingness, that there is another way to live.

  238. This is a true inspiration SLE. So much of what you share I can relate to , especially the need for us to be ” in life” not escaping into the safety of our rabbit holes and hiding and hoping for the changes to be made by someone else. To be all of who we truly are can inspire others to do the same and the ripple effect has no end. I too can’t thank Serge Benhayon enough for his loving support that he offers all.

  239. What I have come to deeply appreciate from meeting Serge Benhayon and regularly attending Universal Medicine courses is the way I have been able to change my life around, I have been able to work through patterns and behaviors of mine that almost feel innate and ingrained with all that I do. For that I now have a far greater awareness of how I am feeling all the time, now that I have been able to see past all the issues going on in my life with the support of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine.

    1. Oliver this is such an important point – when I first met Serge Benhayon my reality was that I had given up on life. I had no idea that it is actually possible to turn around and change old patterns and behaviours, to the extent that it is completely life changing.

      1. Me too, Eva. I am amazed at how my whole outlook on life has completely changed since meeting Serge Benhayon and attending presentations by Universal Medicine. I have opened to life and aspects of life in a way that I never knew was possible. So many old ways have been replaced by new ways that I would not have considered before. It feels remarkably expanding and I can honestly say I was not only given up but half dead to boot.

      2. In my case as well Eva – I had completely given up on life and I was totally disempowered. Thanks to Serge and Unimed I’m claiming my power back. The more I do this, the more I can be a living example for other people, that there is another way.

  240. ‘I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…’ This is very profound for it calls for a lack of individuality and a choice to be responsible on a broad level, not leaving things for others to deal with but doing it ourself. Inspirational!

    1. Well said Michelle, it is so easy to say I will leave it to others, but largely nothing changes, we are all needed in our own ways to stand up for and express truth only then will things truly start to change. It is important we say no to what is not love or truth, and yes to what is only then will everyone learn and see for themselves what love truly is. I needed Serge Benhayon to do this for me and now I can do this for others. No longer do I feel I should simply sit back and wait as all that does is delay everyone else from having the opportunity to be love – it is incredibly selfish really.

      1. What you say here is great James: ‘we are all needed in our own ways to stand up for and express truth, only then will things start to change’. True and this is something for everyone on this planet to grasp. Often it is our lack of self-worth and self-doubt which can stop us feeling that we have anything worthwhile to contribute (who me?) but we need to value that no matter how seemingly small or insignificant we each have a part to play.

    2. Hello Michelle M Ryan and this line I love as well, ‘I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…’ This calls us to stop the outward blame and look inside us for the answers and to bring change, love it. So simple and absolutely makes sense, thank you Michelle and SLE.

  241. Meeting Serge Benhayon helped me see how individual promoting and separative the spiritual new age is and I am ever glad to be returning to what I know to be true.

  242. Shying away from life is a such a massive illusion, hey, even just those fleeting moments of “checking out”, heading off into the daze can leave you feeling like everything has moved on around you. Seeing the world’s pain and issues is not a good enough reason to reject your own existence and I too am coming to terms with that. Learning that a consistent committed approach to living your way, and how that fits into the Universal way is giving me the understanding and feeling to make changes, some slight and some significant but all meaningful. When you start making meaningful changes the world absolutely brightens up and responds to your inspired actions. It’s a beautiful thing.

  243. What a great blog SLE – I am blown away by your story and how far you have come. This is deeply inspiring to read and feel and you are confirming that it is possible to come back and commit to life and be a part of the community and society once again.
In my case I too had been overwhelmed by the way the world was and had a deep need to help others but had given up as the task felt too big. The truth is it was because I was numb, checked out and absolutely exhausted.
“We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for..”
That statement is so true and what an illusion it really is. I never thought that one person could have and make such a difference but 10 years after meeting Serge Benhayon and applying what he presents I can claim that I am Committed to Life in Full and my job is to support others to not give up and that is exactly what I do. I know I make a huge contribution to this world and it comes from my consistency which is true responsibility.
Most of the world are not yet aware of how many people Serge Benhayon has reached as it is way beyond the students of Universal Medicine and they come from all walks of life – from professionals to prisoners, from olympic athletes to addicts and I could go on..

    1. True Bina, Serge Benhayon is a walking example of how one person who never gives up can make such an enormous difference and light the flame in so many people who then ignite others. I have often felt the same, that the students of Universal Medicine are only a small example of the enormous numbers of people Serge Benhayon, with his absolute dedication to humanity, has reached in this world.

      1. Well said Josephine and Bina, it is easy to think that we do not make a difference but we do. I too had essentially given up on life before meeting Serge Benhayon, I had succumb to feeling the best way to cope was to simply try to get through life in the best possible way even though I was not truly happy.

  244. This is a very inspiring article showing the love and joy of true responsibility of living life committed and being part of it fully embracing and honouring of oneself and all we are. This is the real gold and not money ,distractions or escape as the focus of our lives. Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine are offering the real truth and what is going on in the world and what we are really all about, by their own deep reflection of love ,honesty, commitment and very being. They are the inspiration for humanity and their reflection is for us all. We now have the role models for ourselves and life and the way we can live and through our own choices, people are starting to change and bring true love health and vitality into their lives too. This change is much needed in the world today.Thank you
    ,

  245. This avoidance of life can seem to be the only way to deal with life, but what we are not wanting to engage in is that we are responsible to how life is. That everything that is going on is actual a reflection for us to look at and the parts that are messy and ugly we need to speak up about. If we continue to ignore or not engage in life we are saying that the way it is, is ok. There will be no true change until we do so. The more we check out with substances and distractions the more it is going to get messier and uglier.

    1. Eventually the cupboard door will spring open, the mess under the carpet will start to seep through or the chaos will collapse out of the attic. Wherever we metaphorically hide the stuff that we don’t want to face, it will always come back round. Moreover, and this is what I have really been able to feel in the last few years, even if it is in the darkest cupboard with the biggest padlock on it, it is actually still with me every single second of every single day. This is the big illusion. We may be ignoring it. But it is definitely not ignoring us.

  246. Thank you SLE, like you and many others I too lived a life running away form the world’s tensions and stresses thinking that i was better off than everybody else, it didn’t take me that long to realise I was living an illusion and it is only now thanks to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine that I have learnt to confirm and appreciate myself for who I am and for the loving relationship I have with my own body and others and the vitality like never before.

  247. “Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.” What Serge Benhayon has shown me is that when we drop our expectations of what we want from the world and live from the love we naturally are, we make a difference and we show others that we have choices.your blog is inspiring.

  248. SLE when I read the first line that you have written ‘I had a string of abusive relationships that did not honour me as the woman I am’ what struck me in relation to my life is that up until fairy recently I had a very defined idea of who I was as a woman. I believed myself to be strong, committed to myself and life, someone who had life worked out, a loving woman, a great Mum, a woman who had it all going for her and yet honouring myself or others honouring me was not something that I ever considered. Having done the work of Universal Medicine for several years the ideas that I held of who I was as a woman have completely disintegrated. As I begin to feel the truth of who I and all other women actually are, then naturally what arises is the knowledge that we deserve to be honoured.

  249. What struck me most reading your blog SLE is your statement… ‘I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…’ I can relate so much to your withdrawal from society, albeit mine was not to the same degree in a physical sense. But in terms of staying ‘in the trenches’ so to speak, and in terms of feeling I could do anything about how I found things, I was very much the same. And like you, I had no idea this was the very thing that enabled it all to continue. Committing to life, as Serge Benhayon has always called it, is key, and being responsible for the quality I bring, is the only other part needed. The rest takes care of itself, and change does happen… one by one.

  250. This is such a basic, yet strong premise, to contributing to society: “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…”

  251. Hello SLE, you lived in a cave? Wow that is full on in this day and age. To come full circle with the support of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine is truly amazing to see. From cave to, “I have now been in regular full time work for over four years, and in the last year I’ve been working as a manager for a successful business.” is a dramatic turn around. The self responsible approach you have taken is truly the key, “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside.” Great story and great blog thank you.

  252. I also didn’t take responsibility for my life. I felt that life was short and then you die, having experienced many people die when I was young, and because of having experienced so much death I did not commit to life at all.I saw life as something that could end at any minute. Through Universal Medicine I have embraced life and know how everything I do has an affect, that me being in the world has a purpose, that I am here to serve. We can make a change in the world and its up to us to lead the way. Great blog

  253. Great blog and great comments.
Serge Benhayon’s teachings are every thing he himself has learnt about the esoteric:- we are all equal, we are all sons of god, we are here to serve humanity and our integrity is of the utmost importance.
We all have the power that Serge Benhayon utilizes by connecting to our soul and his ulterior motive is to share this way of life with as many people as he can so they in turn can share with others, for humanity. http://www.unimedliving.com/unimedpedia/word-index/unimedpedia-esoteric.html

  254. Mary what you say here is of great importance. In a world I’ve experienced as ‘thriving on’ competition, prides itself on survival of the fittest (whilst pertaining to being charitable), to feel someone who presents with genuine authority, that we all bring something vital and unique and equally important to this world, is both inspiring and healing.

Despite people saying they want an end to suffering I see people continue to ask others to deliver to them solutions with the condition they don’t then have to address their part in creating their suffering. I see people being rewarded for only bringing a fraction of what they are capable of: solutions which don’t address, but more often perpetuate our irresponsible ways. We reduce intelligence to what can be remembered and regurgitated; we say success is running the fastest for no purpose except to be the best at running a certain distance (again to me, no real purpose).

It is no wonder so many people feel unappreciated, purposeless and pointless if what they have to offer they don’t see the world having a place for. I used to feel this way. I knew there was more to me but didn’t have a clue what. With the support of Universal Medicine I’ve had glimpses of living a different way and making my everyday living all of me. Yes, I can still be irresponsible but I have a choice now.

Seeing Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine live what is possible when one takes full responsibility for our choices, I cannot deny, allows us the grace to deliver the gifts we were born with.

  255. It is so easy to shrink away from society and not engage in the world but the problem is that when we do this the world becomes a mess. We wonder why the world is the way it is and yet we have created it but sticking our head in the sand. This is how I led my life up until I met Serge Benhayon. From that point on I started to learn about our great responsibiity we have to ourselves and to everyone in society. He taught me that we are incredibly powerful and that it just takes one person expressing from Truth to change the world.

  256. It is incredible what we can do to ourselves because we don’t know how to express what we feel is going on in and around us in life. Escape happens in many forms but what you sharing here is true with so many of us, we are only trying to escape because we feel powerless. Time to bust out of hiding and commit to discovering how to truly support ourselves and humanity- I’m in – it’s the only way forward and there is a universe of support for true loving action.

  257. I stopped in my tracks reading the opening lines as it could have been me. Well, not the part about living in a cave, but the rest of it was me. I spent 10 years moving from place to place, only ever dipping my toes in society and thinking the world was in a such a mess and I didn’t want to be a part of it. Enter Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine and all that has changed. In reading this blog I have been reminded of how much I have changed my life. I was on a bitter path and viewed the world as a horrible place. Not so anymore, I now engage with life and whilst I don’t shy away from the state of the world, I can now feel the beauty in the world.

  258. Seeing that something is wrong or does not work and running away or turning a blind eye to the situation will neither serve us nor anyone else.
Observing what is truly going on and expressing all that we observe. Doing this without expecting any results and living differently as an inspiration: this is what will bring changes.

  259. There are so many great things in your blog SLE – gems that I relate to so much, having for much of my life wanted to live somewhere remote and away from people. Don’t get me wrong – these are not the gems, it’s phrases such as, ‘Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.’ which resonate more with me now. I too have turned my life around after meeting Serge Benhayon. I was on a one way trip to middle-of-nowhere’s-ville, and yet since committing to life and work I am now living in the bustling metropolis of London and am working as a team leader for a large cooperation.

  260. Hi SLE, Changing from living in escapism to becoming a true member of humanity is a huge turnaround. It shows what is possible when we begin to understand what life is truly for. Universal Medicine presentations also supported me in changing my life from one of distraction and avoidance of feeling the distress of humanity to one where I see the distress and know the only true help is me living me, accepting myself in my amazingness and in my oops moments.

    1. Judy it’s big change. When I reflect on SLE’s line “I am now taking responsibility and claim my part in society.” not only does it show the wise choices made but it also begs the question how many people in the world actually take responsibility and claim their part in society? I know for me I was in the attitude for much of my life that “The world Owes Me” and I suspect I was not alone.

  261. You sum it up very beautifully:
“We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.”
Each of us counts and makes a difference with every choice we make and this brings the responsibility to make choices that are loving to ourselves and to others.

  262. It’s taken a long time, but I can see fundamental changes occurring in me as a direct result of my association with Universal Medicine and having one to one esoteric healing sessions and attending the courses, workshops and presentations. I’d never understood why I had such difficulties in life and like I was always fighting myself. My work with Universal Medicine has helped me to see in me deeply ingrained patterns of behaviour that had me stuck in repeated self – harm. Not self-harm in terms of cutting myself, but self-harm in the form of always putting myself down, thinking negatively of myself and putting myself into situations that were very unloving and unsupportive. Now I know my own mind and accept that I am worthy of respect and care in my relationships. My relationships with people are changing so much. They are much more respectful and engaging, but the only reason they have changed is because I now have a deep level of respect for myself.

  263. I agree, we each can access the power and help change the world around us to a much greater degree than most of us would admit to. It just takes a lot of lived integrity and truth, which we are all very capable of.

  264. Wow, what a transformation. I agree, that one of the benefits I have gained from the teachings of Universal Medicine is a sense of responsibility for myself and all that happens in my life and to know that everything I do that is not true is harming others – we think we are safe hiding away and not harming anyone but our absence means that our expression is missing from the whole.

    1. “…our absence means that our expression is missing from the whole”, great line Carmel. It is true that if we hold ourselves back and hide our light from others then we are doing an injustice, not only to ourselves but to everyone and everything. We are, in fact, already the whole, so playing small and hiding doesn’t make sense, even though we have spent aeons doing just that.

    2. Absolutely true Carmel, this is one of the greatest illusions that l’ve been very much part of too. That the bystanders are innocent of the crime and corruption of the perpetrators. It’s such an easy position to take… comfortable actually… in it’s inactivity and selfish concern only for oneself, rather than being prepared to act for the all.

  265. I agree Mary. In school they push students super, super hard in order to get good grades so that in the future they can be successful. Everything is about the exams and the result, which has lead the kids to believe that if you don’t become ‘successful’; a doctor, lawyer, banker etc. and have a high up job (because that’s what the teachers expect of you), you are less important and have less of a say. On the absolute contrast – Serge Benhayon presents that EVERYONE matters equally, and true success is not measured by money, grades or status, but actually the joy you feel and live on a day to day basis.

    1. Completely love your words Susie Williams: “True success is not measured by money, grades or status, but actually the joy you feel and live on a day to day basis” – is a true motto of any business or company to infuse HR policies, workforce and talent strategy plans that bring the responsibility and work healthiness back to the employee. As an employee our own joy and vitality is our own job, and not the employers to bring, but instead to behold and instil through its working culture of care.

      1. It would indeed be incredible if businesses were moulded this way Zofia… Instead of being single-mindedly focused on money and attracting more customers, what would it look like if they made their goal to build relationships, eradicate office politics, have great customer care?

    2. That is beautiful what you have shared about Serge Benhayon in what he presents. I really feel that too. We are not what we do and it is not what we do in life ‘as a job’ that is important more how we live and feel and treat others.

  266. So many people’s lives has been turned around since meeting and working with Serge Benhayon, mine included. Why is that you might ask? It is because Serge Benhayon lives a soulful life, that is a life that is about love and truth. Seeing that reflection in him woke up something within me that make me realize that we are all exactly the same, that we have a soul and that soul is love and that we too can connect to it and live it. It is by re-connecting with our soul and making life about love that changes everything.

  267. Thanks SLE for your story about coming back to committing to life and yourself more than ever before. So many people like you , me and many others how found the teachings and presentations , and healing modalities founded by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine so supportive to be able to make huge leaps in claiming back our lives .Your story is another one to list of miracles in action -The livingness.

  268. We can often hold a resentment towards something when we feel unfilled in our own lives. But from the teachings of Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon the fundamental teaching is to look within self and change with self in mind. Meaning that all the answers that we could have ever wanted were waiting inside of us all along.

Each human being holds great wisdom, commitment and care. With gentle encouragement and support everyone has the potential to live within these means.

The above blog is a great example of this.

  269. The deeper and more obvious aspects of corruption we so easily see are actually nothing more than a distraction from the real end game, a lure to keep us in despair that all is lost and forlorn, a distraction in itself to ensure we do not look beyond the shadows. Meanwhile, the sun continues to set, and the sun continues to rise, sharing itself for all the world to see – even though for the most part we ignore its unshakeable beauty, lost are we in the seeming complexity of a world that demands our attention. Well be done that, I say. Spend only 5 minutes appreciating the Sun,for such beauty needs not your acknowledgment. Spend the rest of the day appreciating your own skin, and you will understand that the corruption we see stems not from evil as we might think, but rather from the fact that we have forgotten the fire of our own divine being. From there anything else we look out to is but a shadow of our true selves.

    1. Deeply profound Adam thank you… ‘the corruption we see stems not from evil as we might think, but rather from the fact that we have forgotten the fire of our own divine being’

  270. It’s interesting how we can “get lost in the overwhelming feeling that I needed to do something to help in some way”. I’m gradually experiencing that by building my relationships and commitments that I don’t actually need to DO anything to help solve anyone’s problems – that for me to commit to being there and knowing that I am enough, IS enough. I had to suspend belief at first because I was good at solving problems and it let me feel good about myself. However I’ve found it’s a much richer experience all round to let things change and unfold naturally.

  271. No coincidence that at one of the lowest points in my life I worked for a homeless charity in London, I was so empty inside that I was using “good” as a means to make me feel more fulfilled. Today I can see the emptiness that I was living on a daily basis, looking out to the world to give me a sense of who I was – Serge Benhayon turned this around when he drew a simple diagram on a piece of paper – showing how I had been living life outside of myself, holding the world responsible for my deep despair, and that if I began to take real care of myself and honestly honoured my feelings, life would turn around. Indeed, I too have changed my life – thanks to Serge Benhayon.

  272. Your writing reflects how deeply inspired you have been by Serge Benhayon to be able to make different choices in your life to come from living in your cave!
What a joy to celebrate and appreciate the changes YOU have made in your life and responding to the magnetic pull to return to the love that you /we are in truth.
What an inspiration you offer to everyone reading this blog and anyone meeting you in your daily life.
“I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside… not running away or turning a blind eye, or using distractions such as travelling, sugar, alcohol or caffeine”.

  273. It’s quite inspiring to read the account of how you’ve changed your life, when we compare this to society as a whole it is deeply unique, yet within those who attend Universal Medicine events it’s very common. I know the difference in my life and those in my family is quite staggering. So when we look at how is this possible I feel it comes down to the fact that no-one is following a set of rules or guidelines when it comes to how they live their life, they are inspired and with that build a deep connection with themselves. From there the miracles truly happen including continued and sustained lifestyle choices. There is of course a very deep appreciation for all that Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine has bought and continues to bring to humanity.

  274. When faced with the harsh reality of the world today it is understandable that people go one of two ways – either escape and avoidance of the whole thing as much as possible or giving up on ourselves and enjoining ‘the system’ and trying to play it to our best advantage at our own expense. I have tried both methods and did not feel satisfied by either. Neither takes away the background uneasiness or tension of not being true to ourselves and neither changes anything on the planet. Serge Benhayon has presented a third way which is to be aware of everything and to commit to the world completely but stay true to yourself at the same time. This is the only way anything is going to change.

  275. This is absolutely amazing to read how inspired you have been, from Universal Medicine, Serge Benhayon and from within yourself and how we all benefit from your choice to get more involved in society.

    1. Hello abbyhinchcliffe and I agree it really is one of the keys. At times we withdrawal but yet the answer at that point is the opposite. As this blog is clearly showing, living in a cave isn’t the answer but yet committing to being in society is. There is a quality here that is also another key so just working full time is only a part and the connection is the bigger picture or key. As Universal Medicine presents everything comes from connection, a connection to yourself and what you feel and all else goes out from there. Thank you abbyhinchcliffe.

  276. SLE, I can relate to when you speak of repeating unloving patterns of behaviour that are not supporting me or others. I am now able to notice these patterns much more clearly than I could before and how strongly they play out. It is great to have a better understanding of why I do certain things and how I can change that through the choices I make. I am now much more committed to life having for years always looked for escape, that is to me a great thing and I appreciate the support Universal Medicine has given me in this regard.

  277. This is such a joyful story. What a celebration to come back to yourself in this way. It does not feel good when we retreat and do not commit to life. It must feel amazing now that you are no longer ‘running away’.

  278. I really appreciate the honesty you have shared in this blog and feel your story is another great example of the life changing inspiration Serge Benhayon is by his lived way.

  279. Just this morning I heard on the radio that for equality between men and women we need to change the system – and it reminded me of how helpless I used to feel in the face of it all, the whole mess that we are in. Since Universal Medicine I know that I don’t have to change anything outside of me, just be honest, take responsibility and make different choices and thus, everything changes – one man, woman or child at a time. It might take a few thousand years, but hey, it’s the only way to go because what we are all looking for is already within us, in each and every one us.

  280. I have spent a lot of this life and probably other life times living in my self-made men cave. It was a great place to retreat into and you did not have to travel to get there. Universal Medicine has allowed me to move out of my cave and back into the world to be me in my fullness to express to the world who I truly am.

    1. Great point sjmatsonuk that we don’t actually have to go overseas or travel or be a ‘drop out’ to live in a cave! We could be carrying our cave around with us everywhere, even though we have a ‘normal’ job or career and even a family, house etc. If we are not expressing who we are in daily life and holding that back from the world this is still not committing to life.

    2. That’s me as well sjmatsonuk. The man cave is a very cosy place with all sorts of distractions and numbing devices. I chose to come out of it and I am finding out what an amazing person I actually am!

    3. The man cave doesn’t sound to dissimilar to a woman cave! No matter what trimmings the cave has, it is not a nice place to be and I never felt good being in there.

  281. This is a really inspiring read and I can feel how much more I am committing to the world. Commitment is not easy, but when the incredible understanding comes ~ about how much more meaning and depth come with true commitment ~ it is worth working hard to maintain that level of commitment.

    1. Natasha, I find committing is not the hard part so much as staying committed but when I do I feel the profound difference it makes to my life and those around me.

      1. Ah yes, the staying committed is a testing ground ~ but what I feel is that when we truly commit to something we go to a deeper layer and at that deeper layer we are asked to once again commit and deepen.

    2. I find commitment is actually a decision and I don’t find it hard by itself. The hard part comes when I realise that I can only be committed when I express and receive love and the more I do so, the easier it becomes to be committed as the commitment comes back as love to me. The hardest part is seeing the parts of us that are not love and therefore holding us from commitment and to drop them and the embarrassment about some of those unloving parts.

      1. Great point Christoph… what commitment means is key, not just the ‘doing’ of life but letting people in, accepting and receiving love and expressing all that’s there. That’s the tricky bit for me too 🙂 but sounds a bit ridiculous to say it like that. If we are love in our essence then it ought to the the most natural, simple thing in the world!

      2. Such an awesome comment christophschnelle. The line where you share with us about commitment becoming easier once we open up to love is incredibly inspiring and I know it from small experiences. It’s really incredible what can happen and how much can get done by being open to receive and be love.

  282. I love the title of this article ‘How I changed my life – thanks to Serge Benhayon’ and can echo and relate to this completely after taking a moment to stop and appreciate my life and just how far I have come. With the help, support, absolute reflection of love and integrity from Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine I have turned my life around completely. From being depressed, feeling lost in the world, no self-worth, self-esteem or self-love, unloving relationships and constantly running from life to now … feeling well, appreciating and valuing myself and others, committing to life, starting a degree and working full time in a job that feels incredibly purposeful and which I love as well as building and having some truly beautiful relationships with many people. Never before have I had such a positive change or turnaround in my life and this is just the beginning. So thank you Serge Benhayon 💕

    1. Vicky it’s an interesting thing to consider that before Universal Medicine I felt that I was super committed and very happy, I felt that I was doing everything that I wanted to be doing and that my relationships were great. And yet since coming to Universal Medicine I too have turned my life around and as a result I now realise that most of what I thought I had before actually had no substance to it at all.

  283. I never considered whether I was committed to life or not before Universal Medicine – I was alive here on the planet, doing what needed to be done, therefore I was living life. However what was revealed upon attending Universal Medicine presentations was that ‘my life’ was actually just an existence, a way of coping in the world that I had developed over the years to manage what I perceived was happening ‘out there’ – it was a way to ‘get through’ life. I wasn’t truly committed to life at all. Through the presentations of UniMed I have committed to making more loving choices for myself, and as confidence within me builds, I have been able to be in the world in a way that I can see what is happening ‘out there’ but not be affected by it, and with this my commitment to life develops, and over time I see how this positively affects others around me – which is a magical way to live life!

  284. It is so easy to turn away when we see what is truly going on in society but so much more powerful to stand and face the world with a commitment to life and to humanity.

  285. Thank you SLE for sharing what so many of us have done in our lives. Hiding from life was one of my favourite occupations but eventually I realised it served no one least of all myself. Universal Medicine supported me in changing all that for that I am truly appreciative.

  286. This is a great point, about the harm caused by not committing to life. I would include in this not being fully there in my work or my rest, even though I may be very busy or deeply ‘relaxed’. In fact it is not just about what we are doing, but the quality of connection and presence we do it in. And taking it further, even connecting and being present with ourselves to get the job done ‘well’ or relaxing ‘well’, can not be truly committing to the expression of love through what we do and in all that we do. So great to explore what true commitment means, let alone the detail of the harm it causes.

  287. It is amazing how easy it is for us to separate from humanity because we feel it is too hard! As you have expressed…..all we need to do is to commit to being the love that we are to be truly a part of society.

  288. It’s quite incredible the number of blogs that speak about Universal Medicine, mentioning how people have started to care for themselves and commit to life. This is no exception and it’s always a wonderful message to hear.

    1. It is also quite incredible how many people are not committed to life. When I think about it, we are all here on this planet living life, yet so many are not committed to that. It’s crazy and when living that way there is such an unhappiness that comes with it. It’s crazy, but I understand it as I too was once less committed than what I am now.

      1. I agree nikkimckee, it’s crazy but true!
We are all born into this world, and there is no escape. It is guaranteed that we live a whole life here until we die – however, for so many, the living is replaced with existing. I used to live a life in my head and escaping reality wherever possible – a terrible reality in comparison to the joy of actually living the life you were born to live – with full commitment.

      2. It could even be said that everyone is so busy not committing to life. If there is no commitment to who we are first then there is no commitment. All that busyness, just to avoid the fact that we haven’t committed in the first place. What a trap so many of us have allowed ourselves to get caught in.

    2. Yes I agree, committing to life and caring for themselves is no exception Oliver, it is the norm, beautiful transformations from unsatisfactory lives to ones with purpose joy and vitality.

  289. SLE, your words ‘We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for’ apply to so many of us – that sense of the enormity of suffering and corruption all around, the resulting sense of impotence to do anything about it on such a mass scale. But, as you have so clearly pointed out, this is an illusion . . . and it is an illusion with many tentacle threads to it: we think we have to ‘fix’ things (mainly because they are so uncomfortable for us, so it is about self); we are still part of the same game when we react like this and then withdraw from the world (self protection so about self again); it is so untrue that we are small, we are in fact grand and glorious if only we choose it; responsibility for choosing to commit to life has been lacking (as you so well illustrate in this blog). Your sentence describes a whole stance that is designed to keep us powerless. Thank you for your great blog!

    1. Very true Lyndy. Feeling too small and too insignificant is one of the most powerful illusions there is, and a lot of people put a lot of effort into keeping humanity trapped in the headspace of thinking this. The whole media for example, focuses on the importance of celebrities – because they are apparently ‘more significant’ that other people…

  290. Wow, SLE, you have truly transformed your life. But I can understand how you felt so strongly what was wrong in the world, with no knowing how to help with that, that you felt you did not really want to be part of it. I too owe so much to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. My life too was a mess what I discovered such a different way of living. I hid myself away in my family, was so shut down, I actually describe it as “disappearing myself”, as if I did not really exist. I just worked on auto pilot for most of my life, just doing what was needed. I have learned so much from Serge, made a true commitment to life, still somewhat a work in progress, but very much more out there now. I realise now I always knew the truth, I have a job to do in this world, to live it and show others that there is this beautiful way to be living, fully committed and full of life.

  291. “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for.” This is so true. And what a blessing that Universal Medicine has been providing such inspiring support for so many and has been holding up a figurative mirror to show people so clearly the significance and the power of our every thought and every action not only on our own lives, but also on the whole of life. Even when we choose to stay silent and hold back any action we are having an impact on everyone and everything around us. It reading brings how the immense responsibility we have in who we choose to live.

    1. Golnaz I totally agree, the mass illusion we have fallen for is that we feel too small and insignificant to change anything – “what can I do”. I see so many people checking out on their phones, ipads, in their heads, watching tv and so on. They don’t know what to do they are like lost sheep not knowing which way to turn, and the solution is so simple that the majority overlook it – self love, connecting and feeling your body – listen to what it has to say. We are so lucky we have Serge Benhayon, Universal Medicine and the many students who choose to live this simple way and express true love for all to feel.

  292. I can very much relate to your feelings of overwhelm with wanting the world to change and I can totally understand wanting to run away. I have witnessed people around me feeling and doing the same thing, they have simply given up on people, life, they just want to hide and have nothing to do with society. Your blog is extremely inspiring because it shows us that we don’t have to hide, we can choose to commit to life like you have and make the changes we all so longed for by making loving choices for ourselves first. It seems like a loveless world because we are choosing to live in a loveless way. When we choose to open our eyes and our heart there is much joy and love in the world. When we choose to bring love into our lives we reflect love back to people. The love we all crave for is all already within us, we just have to live it to experience it.

    1. That is so true – “the love we all crave for is already within us”. I certainly did not know this before Universal Medicine and used to feel totally overwhelmed by the mess humanity and the world are in.

      1. I did too Gabriele. And Serge Benhayon was the first who put it all into perspective and it started to all make sense… even though I was not able to live that in full right away, it is a work in progress but as the perspective has changed, my life has transformed.

      2. So true. We not only have to live love, we have to accept that is to be found inside us and stop looking for it anywhere else. That is one of our greatest responsibilities, not to fix the world but to know the love we already are.

    2. Beautifully said Chan “It seems like a loveless world because we are choosing to live in a loveless way.” When living this way we create a lovelessness. When living in a loving way, that is what is created and it is all a choice as to how we live. We each have the power to make that choice.

    3. Powerful words chanly88. You have expressed the truth in such a simplistic way, that what you have written is so obvious. I loved your line – It seems like a loveless world because we are choosing to live in a loveless way – this is so true.

    4. Very powerful chanly88, bring the awareness back to our choices and what responsibility we hold when making them. ‘When we choose to open our eyes and our heart there is much joy and love in the world’. Crazy that we can all live in the same world, but not all see the joy and beauty that is pulsating all around us, all the time.

  293. This sounds very familiar to me, SLE. Before finding out about Serge Benhayon and applying what he teaches to the way I live, I was quite content to live amongst the ‘counter culture’ of copious recreational drugs, spiritual searching, and seeing the rest of society as people who were ‘lost’.
But the truth is I was the one who was lost. I thought that through my lifestyle I was finding myself, but I was in an unhappy relationship, broke, working at a job that was not going anywhere. Within just a couple of years I started to completely turn my life around and engage in society again. Now, I have an awesome relationship, and am managing a team as part of an international organisation. This is quite simply down to putting into action what I have been inspired to do by Serge Benhayon. My life would not be what it is today without him.

    1. I can relate to what you are sharing here – I looked down upon the rest of humanity and couldn’t really figure out how I fitted in; I worked part-time but hid away in a rural area and found it quite hard to answer or make phone calls, I sort of muddled through as best I could. All this has changed since I came across Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine and the changes in me and in my life are nothing short of miraculous.

    2. I am with you on this Naren, without Serge Benhayon I too would still be living the false, stressful and very insensitive life I once lived. Having had these amazing reflection from Serge Benhayon, Simone Benhayon and Sara Williams, naming but a few, I have got to feel and reflect on how amazing life can be if I am willing to let go of what does not work or feel right. It is an amazing leap forward for me to have changed so much in just a few years and what I love feeling is that this is just the start.

      1. That’s beautiful Amina – “..and what I love feeling is that this is just the start.” It would be easy to sit down so to speak when we get to a better place in our lives rather than appreciate the change and be open to seeing what is next, how much more love can we be..

      2. I agree aminatumi and Jane. Without these reflections from the Benhayons and my Practitioners I would hate to think how my life would be right now. Six years ago I was running on empty, being refueled with sugar, anxiety and stress. Universal Medicine presented a different way to live life and I have never looked back, there is just a continual unfolding of love for myself and humanity.

    3. Yes, my life wouldn’t be what it is today either. I was fully committed to being a victim of life, of using society and my upbringing as excuses to do the bare minimum to get by and just survive – if life was a swimming pool, to make it to the other end.

Now I know there is so much more, that I am so much more and so is everyone else. I am no longer waiting for everyone else to realise this and make the first move to live lovingly before I feel safe to do so. I know I still hold back and I’m working on this but I also know every time I don’t I get to feel the truth of who we really are more deeply, that we are all Sons of God no matter how much we try to hide this fact.

      1. Talking about being a Son of God is something I never shy away from nowadays, there was a time where this was not something I would express or feel but today I am profound and very aware of this truth and enjoy expressing it to myself and others.

      2. Karin reading your comment I realised how committed I was to not being committed, this is a way I had never looked at before. It makes me see that I have always been a committed person, just as I am now to be a part of life and live as a son of God. I guess it shows we are all committed, but to what is our choice.

    4. There are so many ways we can choose to hide ourselves away and not engage in society, whether that be through drugs, alcohol or spiritual seeking. It is all the same, a means to keep us disengaged from the world at large which in turn keeps us living less.

    5. I too lived in the counter culture of spiritual searching and I lived with an arrogance that I knew more than others. But had I been honest, I would have seen how unhappy I was and how disengaging myself from society was not serving me or anyone. Looking back, it feels like I was caught in a trap. Once I made the choice to go there, it was hugely challenging to get out, which I was not able to do on my own. Serge Benhayon and other esoteric practitioners supported me in gently coming to a place where I was able to have more clarity as to what I was doing.

      1. Yes, nikkimckee! I know that one! I remember recognising that I was really unhappy with the way things were in my life, but I could not see how I could possibly change things. Mainly because I was thinking that I needed to change something outside of me. I moved cities and even countries, but I still was ending up in the same situations with the same issues. It wasn’t until I met Serge Benhayon and realised that I needed to start by making changes within myself that things finally started changing. And what amazing changes they have been!

    6. Your experience, like SLE’s could be applied to so many people Naren, thank you for sharing. I too have been and continue to be inspired by Serge Benhayon to consider and address the state of my life, such as my commitment to my relationship, my family, my work and myself with astonishing results. I too was lost although in my arrogance I would never have admitted that, my level of self care, self worth and self love was dire, flagrantly evident in the state of my health and the quality of my relationship. The teachings of Universal Medicine are a complete package of wisdom, philosophy, healing, religion and science all rolled into one, delivered from an exceptional lived experience that is prompting thousands of people to make fundamental changes in their lives with miraculous results. Serge Benhayon is central to these changes, a man who consistently evolves his own way of living and unconditionally shares his experience and wisdom in order to further the true evolution of humanity.

      1. I love what you have said here, rowenakstewart. Especially about Serge Benhayon continually evolving and sharing with everyone his lived wisdom.

    7. Hi Narren, your have created quite a thread here, I was also part of the counter culture, was arrogant and thought every mainstream person was lost.
What is amazing is how Serge Benhayon empowered all of us esoteric students to change.

      1. For me that is the key word, Rosie: ’empowered’. He has never told anyone what to do, but simply provided the tools. It has always been up to us how to use them.

    8. Hello Naren Duffy and it seems we all have our own flavour when it comes to how we were living to try and get through the world. Some looked better than others but as we are all saying they all lacked a certain quality. Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine bought me back to that quality and now the way I live comes from a quality that I feel from within me. A connection to how things feel first before I just do them. Before I was just doing things to be better, it always had to be better and when it was ‘bad’ better was better. Now the way I live supports everything and everything comes from that connection, no better or worse just a quality of connection. If I don’t feel that then it doesn’t matter what I am doing it becomes about connecting again, simple. Thank you Naren.

      1. And thank you, Raymond. For that is what was one of the greatest, if not the greatest, thing that I learned from Serge Benhayon: it comes down to the quality that we choose to live in.

    9. Naren I can relate too. I would think that ‘straight’ society were the problem, and more or less gave up on trying to fit in. I had found employment when I first meet Serge Benhayon, and through applying what he presents I was able to change my relationship with work to one of positivity and joy, not the burden it had previously become. I have learned how important it is to engage with all aspects of life because all change comes from within first.

  294. And yet another great inspirational story of how Serge Benhayon & Universal Medicine have inspired someone’s life. I can relate to your story SLE as I too tried to runaway from life. But I knew this was not the answer – it was just a momentary relief from the lovelessness of the world. Committing to life and being in the community is an amazing way to live…we are here to support each other and grow and we can only do this together.

  295. “We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” Coming back to life and choosing responsibility over passivity is one of the main lessons I retain from Universal Medicine. Embracing life and committing to it is a full time job and I love it.

  296. You are spot on SLE. The world is so hurt and disillusioned with all the hurt and corruption and everyone has shut the doors and closed the blinds. But this causes an even greater hurt because we are beings who naturally need to love, interact and be in relationships. So as you have beautifully articulated, it is not about reacting or feeling small to do anything; it is about first opening up to observe, commit to not reacting and then bring in the understudying that we can each of us make a huge impact by simply expressing what we see. Individually we are still huge, together we are enormous. We absolutely can and do make a difference, in each moment, in each day.

  297. The impact that each one of us has on our world is immense actually, even though it may not seem so at the time. As the author states ‘this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for’.
Even the way we move each day, our posture and the words and tone we use to communicate with each other all over time have a DRAMATIC impact on the way our relationships evolve… or not.

  298. “This was a magical turning point in my life where I was given a very honest but loving reflection on how I had been living and how there was so much more to life than the daily struggle I was finding myself in.” I love this line SLE. I have experienced this from Serge Benhayon – he never shies away from the truth and telling you how it really is – however, he holds such love for you that this never seems like a criticism and he absolutely never sees anyone as less than himself. Amazing and a continuing inspiration.

  299. I hadn’t even considered whether I was committed to life prior to attending any workshops by Serge Benhayon. Slowly I came to recognise how uncommitted I was and yet how at the same time I could think I was committed. The irony of committing to life is that it is not what it looks like. You can look fully committed from the outside, engaged in all sorts of things, without having any commitment at all.

    1. So true Vicky…the commitment has to come from within us first – commitment to ourselves, to knowing who we truly are, and then committing to bringing all of that out for all the world to see…and then commitment in what we do naturally flows – because commitment was there before we began any doing.

    2. Yes it feels that there are so many layers to see regarding commitment to life…and then there is the question of what exactly are we committing to?

  300. I agree with Mariette’s comment in that the biggest commitment I have made has been to myself which has been inspired by Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon. To live in a way that truly supports me, requires me to commit to life, to be an active co-contributor. Like yourself SLB this has totally transformed my whole life. No longer am I wanting to run and hide but stand right in the middle and be here, being myself with the all.

  301. It is amazing how you have changed your life SLE by making the loving choices for your self fist that then led to you being able to commit to life in full. It is amazing though that we tend to turn our backs to our societies when we are lost in ourselves. For me I do have this experience as well. Before I met Serge Benhayon I was positioning myself as separate to the main stream society. I was different because I made what I called at that time conscious decisions on looking after myself but at the same time I was placing myself outside the community I lived in. I did not wanted to belong as what society showed me was not that pleasant to see, and hard for me to acknowledge that I was an inseparable part of it. After I have met Serge Benhayon and having many healing sessions I am now growing in the understanding that I am an integral part of society and that I have an important say in it. I do belong in full and have a responsibility for the state it is in and it is such a blessing to be this way as this is what human life is about. I do matter and have an important say of the state society will be in as of now.

  302. I’ve come to realise that it’s much more depressing and devitalising to not commit to life than it is to see all the corruption and abuse in our world. If I react to seeing abuse by withdrawing and holding back, this hurts much more than seeing it, staying present and responding to it.

  303. Meeting Serge Benhayon is life changing, even if we are not aware of it straight away. If we are open to Serge and what he presents our lives can change beyond measure. Even when I have not understood in my mind what he is talking about, I could and still cannot dismiss his love as this is felt very deeply.

  304. We are held in this illusion that we are either to insignificant to change something or that only a massive and big change serves and if we don’t have the resources to change on a big level its just a drop in the ocean and doesn’t impact anything. Universal Medicine supports people to re-connect to their true grandness and the amazingness of change impulsed by a drop in the ocean.

  305. Absolutely we are the essence of change, the world merely reflects back what we are putting into the world with our thoughts & actions. We don’t tend to like that level of responsibility but its the truth and until we take full responsibility for all our thoughts and really love and care for ourselves nothing will change.

  306. Thank you SLE. I too felt overwhelmed by the suffering and terrible way we are with each other and didn’t know how to cope with it other than withdrawing from the world. Through the presentations and help from Serge Benhayon I started to understand that self-love and self-care is the answer to my not coping and that what brings me closer to everyone else. As the more I make sure I am ok in every aspect of my life the less problems I carry with me in my daily life, leaving more room for everybody else.

  307. I have witnessed many people blossom after taking similar steps as you SLE. What Serge Benhayon has shared with us all is nothing short of miraculous. So many inspiring stories are being told in these blogs and other platforms where lives have been turned around and people are claiming their truth, love and power. I too am on that path where I have come out of my cave and am starting to be in and with the world. As you say, the illusion that we are powerless allows the prevailing situation where we know we all deserve to live in a world that is loving, but it is not our daily reality. And here we are we are taking steps towards that new normal. Commitment is the medicine for us as individuals and as a society. Yes!

  308. I am committing more and more to life and I am starting to absolutely love it. Committing to work, to paying bills, to earn money, to relationships, to take care of myself, to go to the gym, to do the dishes straight away and all those other things. Every day there are new things to commit to, but the most important choice I have made is to commit to myself. From there, it is one big commitment adventure.

    1. I love that Mariette, ‘a commitment adventure’! I’ve been realising too that for all the commitments in life, like you describe – I’m pretty good at all those daily commitments, I have fooled myself, as in fact the fundamental commitment must be to me, because without that the other commitments cannot be as rich or as full.

    2. Thank you Mariette, I agree, to me this is the Livingness. The more you involve yourself, the more energy that is given to us to be of service to humanity – this is evolution.

  309. I think many of us miss being right in the heart of society claiming our part in it. Whilst it is challenging sometimes to be around the everyday issues that can happen between people, rather than running away from these I have begun to use them as opportunities for understanding and to respond more supportively and with greater clarity to whatever is going on that day… instead of running away as I once did.

    1. Absolutely Dean, facing up to not running away from life is a huge issue that most of the time had become a non-issue for me, because I did not consider that my non-committing to life was actually running away.

  310. I have felt this exact thing “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say”. When I was younger I was so arrogant and not wanting to feel what was really going on with humanity that I would say “if it doesn’t effect me then who cares what’s going on on the other side of the world”. This was actually my protection to not feel or let in others. Thank-fully for Universal Medicine I have become aware of another way to live, connect and commit to life, people and work.

  311. I can so relate to in the past being overwhelmed by where society is at and I reacted in the same way as yourself, by disengaging from life. I have now found a truer way which is me committing to life and people and feeling and accepting, to the best of my ability, what is going on it the world without taking it on and using this to hold myself back.

  312. You certainly turned your life around SLE – that is an enormous change. I like the way are taking responsibility for your life, understanding now that by withdrawing from life and checking out you harmed not only yourself but others also. It is a huge step up, and I for one appreciate that you had the commitment to do so.

  313. What an amazing come back. Awesome to see you claiming your important place in life back. Over the years associated with Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine I’ve witnessed people who have left a life of drugs, alcohol, abusive relationships and all the varied hooks we can find ourselves in, all behind them. When we choose to take responsibility and bring love into our lives miracles become the norm. It’s fantastic that you chose to live the real you.

  314. Dear SLE
Thank you this is an amazing sharing and what a huge change around. I am so inspired by your willingness to fully commit to life. Thank God for Serge Benhayon and his unending loving reflection. Many have benefited.

  315. “Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.” I relate to what you have shared so much SLE. Alcohol, sugar and food were some of the tactics I used to avoid feeling the mess the world is in. I too felt hopeless and incapable of doing anything to help. Now I know that true change is possible and it starts with every choice I make.

  316. Great blog SLE, I can relate to the “living in a cave lifestyle” but doing it my own way by simply not committing to life, until like you, one day, I met Serge Benhayon who has inspired me a different way which was also more loving to myself and equally loving to others.

    1. The huge amount of arrogance we have Alexandre to think that we can figure out a ‘better’ way, our ‘own way’ to get through life. For me I would always take the quick route, minimal work for maximum reward. but I never felt content with life or in my body I was always after more – bigger and better things. It was not until I met Serge Benhayon and his family that I started to see what living lovingly was actually like. Instead of thinking I needed to isolate myself from life and the atrocities it was actually to embrace life, get a ‘normal’ job and not simply run away when things gets hard. Serge has taught me that no matter what comes up for me to look at I am already prepared and equipped to deal with it.

  317. There is a pervading perception that we are too small and insignificant to inspire or affect change. However, a person living the truth of who they are and allowing this to be seen by others is the impetus for huge change. The person themselves might never come to know of the change that has come about because of them, but in a world where people are lost, when they see someone living the real them they notice.

  318. And the world is a vastly better place with you in it SLE, a remarkable turn around thank you for sharing you.

  319. We make such a huge difference in life when we commit to the people around us. We underestimate the impact one conversation or meeting can have on a person. It could just be a single sentence that resonates deep within to make change. Great you are committing back to yourself and humanity.

    1. That’s right Gail…sometimes we don’t realise we are inspiring or supporting another just by being there or in what has been expressed. Each one of us is needed in this world for just being themselves.

  320. SLE, yours is an extreme story of not wanting to be part of society, one that many of us, certainly I can relate to. I would always dream of where I can go next to escape, but now I know that it is only by committing to life that this will change and I won’t any longer feel the need or the desire to run away. Wonderful to hear of how you are now in full time employment as a manager and being amongst society, contributing. Life is after all about people and we can only make our life so, if we are amongst everyone.

  321. Along with living lovingly, taking responsibility and committing to life is something that lies at the heart of what Universal Medicine presents. Even those who thought they were already doing this before to some degree have found that these loving principles need constant developing and refining and through them people have experienced truly unbelievable changes in their lives. It seems that eternally deepening these is in-truth the key to accessing and forever expanding love in our lives.

  322. Thank you SLE. You have made great changes – living in a cave to managing a business – this is so inspiring! “Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.” A huge statement here – we can only really see the enormity of humanity’s mess when we have that deep loving connection with ourselves for then we know we can be a true reflection for others.

  323. SLE that is a solid piece of writing from a woman who feels wonderfully solid in herself. What a fantastic turn around and how different will your life be now as a result of the changes that you have made. The life that you were living would have become increasingly more difficult the older you got, it can feel quite exciting to live like that when you’re young but gets tougher the older you get.

  324. It is so interesting how many people actually cannot cope with the world around them and seek to escape from it by every means possible. As I well know myself running away from life does not change anything, in fact it only prolongs the inevitable. True freedom comes from dealing with our hurts and letting ourselves feel the mess humanity is in and then start to do something about it, beginning with cleaning up the mess in our own lives.

  325. It is easy for us to feel overwhelmed by all the problems and misery in the world and then turn away thinking we can do nothing about it. What Serge presents is that being fully responsible for how we live in all areas of our life is the only way to change the world as this is reflected to others who may or may not also change how they live. So what you have done, SLE , with the changes in your life is very powerful and can be felt by all. This is what miracles are all about.

  326. I think we would be surprised by how many people who also like to simply travel the world and have as little responsibility as possible – why is it that we often struggle against being fully present and committed to life? What Serge reflects from many people is the fact that to be committed to life is an amazing thing.

  327. This sharing is a real wake up call SLE. One that I truly appreciate. I now understand the energy that led me to put myself at the bottom of the pile (of life) a giving up, or that I do not matter! How can I make a difference? You know all the put downs that would flow from my thoughts so easily. Since attending the teachings of Universal Medicine and presentations with Serge Benhayon by choosing to take this on board and bringing that into my everyday an inner realisation that YES I do make a big difference. Looking back I now really appreciate all that I have experienced and that it was just a delay until I was ready to now take back responsibility for all my choices in life and commit in a very different self loving way. To reflect this to another and another and another – you get the picture.

  328. A beautiful and powerful blog SLE. – As you say ‘We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.
I often feel I have chosen to keep myself small in order to not take responsibility for the way I have lived life and not fully engage with life and to keep myself in comfort. Once we connect to our potential we gain sight of the bigger picture and can begin the process of claiming back our power and making a contribution to life that truly serves. If we all hold back on claiming our potential nothing will change – and as we learn along the way we are so much greater and grander than we were willing to believe. We find we no longer have the need to believe as we begin to feel ourselves filling with love and joy.

  329. Gosh how much I can relate to that! I thought I hate people. I found them stupid. Tried to find the best way to go through life with a few good friends who I called ‘different’.
And now, after being inspired by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine, I am aware of how much I love people, I am back in society, back to live. I am alive again.
Hi Humanity – I am back! Let’s make a good, a divine job and work together. We are one.

  330. Thank you SLE for sharing your amazing and inspiring turnaround. Serge Benhayon is definitely reflecting to us all the importance and responsibility of true commitment to life and that we are all part of it and responsible for it. Bringing real presence to ourselves is the greatest gift reflected to us and being and honouring the love we all are. What a beautiful transformation in your life, joyful and inspirational.

  331. ‘I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside’ – This is a powerful statement. A lot of people spend their entire lives shutting themselves away from society because of how hurt they are by the state that humanity are in, but what you’ve written is amazing about how if you really want to make a change, you have to fully commit to life and be open to making that change yourself. There are a lot of professions and industries riddled with corruption and abuse, but until someone goes INTO that industry and stands against it, it will only continue.

    1. Awesome comment Susie, I agree. We cannot contribute to society if we are not choosing to live in it. Your last sentence is so true. We have a choice to stand up against corruption and abuse or stand by and say nothing. It only takes one person to stand up and express the truth in certain situations to bring about true change.

    2. Susie, that quote jumped out at me too, that if we want change we need to be part of it. And I how tangible you make it, for every corrupt industry, people are needed to go in there and call it out – well spoken and true. That’s the power we all have to stand up, to speak up and to take part. We are more powerful than we know and even more so together but it takes each of us to start – everyone has a part to play. So let’s get on with it.

      1. Gorgeous Monica, and very true. The hierarchy of status and ‘success’ that runs society in an absolute lie – we all have power to stand up, make a difference and have a say, and one of the greatest evils in this world is the perception and belief forced upon us that a title, money and letters after our name is what brings us power…. And that if you don’t have one of these things you may as well be mute.

    3. Correct Susie, we can either resist with reaction and quit an industry or job, or perhaps, and in particular when considering corruption or abuse, look at it another way and see that — our biggest reaction is in fact covering our greatest service and value.

      1. Ooh that our biggest reaction might be covering our greatest service – that’s true Zofia, otherwise why would we react. Thanks for this, it’s allowed me to see reaction in a different light, as a way to consider that I feel what is not right here and maybe rather than react if I can just be with it and see what is playing out, something might change. The only thing we can change is us and how we react and if we learn to see beyond our reactions, we then can see exactly what is going on around us and the possibility of a different way.

  332. ” Through his loving reflection I realised the harm I was causing to myself and the harm I was causing to society by not being fully committed to life.” Isn’t this an amazing realisation and reflection to have, so often we get caught up and think life just happens to ourselves. The more I realise everything I am and go through happens to everyone else, whatever I choose, committing to life or not – either way I have an effect on that. A huge wake up call for me was that I used to spend a lot of time in my room – in doing this I was no different and adding to this huge and harming craze on the other side of this world, where teenagers in Japan shut themselves in their room for days on end, never coming out, or interacting with anyone face to face, their parents leaving food at their door. ( I never got that bad – but I would hide away). The truth is there is no difference, I was adding to this craze. Needless to say I don’t do that anymore. But it is the same with every choice in life, no matter how big or small, what I choose it affects everybody else.

    1. Brilliant! This part is very powerful. It really highlights our responsibilities for ourselves and society. We are not living in individual bubbles we are all part of the one huge sphere where we are all connected and every single choice we make affects ourselves and others too. Awesome comment and blog.

  333. It is so tempting to try to run away from life and escape. For you it was travelling and living in a cave, but we all distract and numb ourselves in different ways to some degree. Life takes a very different turn when we start to take responsibility and decide to commit. It took Serge Benhayon to show me this, and also Simone Benhayon who is an amazing example of someone who commits to life fully.

  334. It is so tempting to run away from life and try to escape. For you it was travelling and living in a cave, but we all try to escape to some degree by numbing ourselves and becoming distracted. Life takes a very different turn when we start taking full responsibility and face life head on. It took Serge Benhayon to show me this, and also Simone Benhayon who is an amazing example of someone who commits to life fully.

    1. Yes I agree Rebecca, we all have our forms of running away from life, our true responsibility and commitment. Serge Benhayon has had the same effect on many people’s lives, showing them that the real answer lies in complete commitment, something that Simone Benhayon lives to the full. All the Benhayon family offer a strong example of what it means to raise a family, work full time, volunteer their spare and live to their full potential. Serge has enabled so many people to truly address the reasons why we wanted to escape, so that we too can embrace life and all its trials and tribulations with a willing and open heart.

  335. Wow this is an amazing story SLE, you are living such a very different life now in all ways, what an incredible turnaround; the presentations of Universal Medicine are so powerful and yet so very simple and if we choose to be inspired by them can allow us to really change ways of being that are unloving and allow us to then be able to also support others.

  336. What you have also shown SLE is that we need to start with that commitment to ourselves first, had you not chosen to commit to you, take more care and love of yourself in many ways, then it would not be possibly to commit to society and life. I have often heard people say loving yourself is selfish, and put other people first to the detriment of their own health, this is far from the truth, as how can you truly function and be part of society if you do not take care of yourself?

    1. I agree with you gylrae, I was certainly brought up to believe if I put myself first that I was being very selfish. But it so makes sense to me now, that I cannot help another until I have first dealt with myself, and certainly cannot love another until I truly love and know myself. Yes first commitment has to be to one’s self.

  337. ‘Now I allow myself to see and feel what is happening around me in society, but no longer feel hopeless and small within this.’ Committing to life rather than running away and hiding (whether it be in a cave or in any home/distraction used as an escape from reality) is huge and it is so inspiring to see how you have totally transformed your life SLE to one of taking responsibility for yourself and reflecting this to others which is so needed in society today where so many have given up in many different guises.

  338. What I have also come to realise is that living outside of one’s self trying to do do good, fix or save things leads to exhaustion which in turn is a great way to avoid committing to life, and also is a very cunning way to not deal with our own stuff, either way we keep going round and round doing the same thing, and nothing truly happens apart from burying ourselves deeper in the mess we and the world are in. It takes a stop, reality check and truth to be presented – thanks to Serge Benhayon to see there is another way to live. One that does make sense, asks us to take responsibility for our lives and how we live and with that comes true change without the need to fix other peoples lives.

  339. SLE, thank you for sharing this. We do all have a responsibility to play our part and live with as much integrity possible. The world is not okay, people are not okay the way it is today. We all make a difference and our reflections are massive, if we only knew…

    1. So true Katinka. We all have a responsibility to play our part and live our lives with truth, love and integrity. This then offers a reflection to all, of how life can be, and then we all grow through this.

    2. I agree, we all make a difference and to understand and see our emmanation in the world and what changes this brings is enormous. And this because of having made certain changes in our lifes which are supportive to our health and wellbeing, and as such have changed the energy we used to live in. To see everything out of the knowing that everything is energy and everything is because of energy changes the way we look at things and as a consequence we choose to be with things or persons.

  340. Awesome blog SLE, I can so relate to this, I ran away and didn’t want to commit to life in full, something I am working on each day. I can still at times get caught in looking outside my self for the answers, when the reality is “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…” It’s not about what I do, but how I live.

    1. I too did the big runaway thing for a while and then hid at the bottom of a bottle for many years in the illusion that I was having fun, foolishly using rock stars as my roll models as they seemed to be able to do whatever they liked with no consequences. Then enter the coolest guy I have eve come across, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke or take drugs just had this beautiful calm loving presents and everything he said was well worth a listen and a ponder on. I soon learnt that there is a consequence to everything we do and am still learning it on a daily basis. Thanks Serge for helping me start to see truth and thanks SLE for sharing your story.

  341. I can relate to giving up on life and at times not wanting to leave my house, and the more I retreated the more depressed I got. Since meeting Serge Benhayon all the questions about life and the way we are and why, have been answered, as I always felt deep down that there had to be more to life than what I was experiencing. Committing to work has been a huge healing for me and continues to be everyday. Thank you for sharing.

  342. A Powerful writing SLE. The changes you have brought to your way of living are gorgeous to read about. What a complete turnaround you have brought to your life simply by being so inspired by one very humble and deeply loving man, Serge Benhayon, the founder of Universal Medicine. You do not feel insignificant in any way now and what a blessing you bring to the world to have made these huge changes.
“We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole”.

  343. Hi SLE, From reading your experience, it reiterates the importance of committing to life in full. Like you , I lived for a long time as a victim to whatever hand I was dealt, thinking that’s just how it goes. But after also being inspired by Universal Medicine on a direct and indirect level, I have come to understand that tolerating life is in itself abusive. And that I stand here as a powerful, vibrant woman who does not need abuse to keep her small, who does not need others to give her an excuse to hold back, who isn’t a victim but a fully responsible part of humanity that has a choice to live in full. I was the creator of my own mess in every sense of the word, but now I see the potential for love first, and just how much I and the world is craving this.

  344. To allow yourself to feel what is happening in society and not to submit to the hopelessness and devastating emotions is very inspiring.
What a transformational journey you have had SLE.
Thank you for sharing your story and experiences.

  345. To read the depth and extent of the changes you have made to your life SLE shows the incredible power of love, truth and the Way of the Livingness. As someone who has been inspired by Serge Benhayon it is clear your life is far richer now than ever before – but this only occurred as you made loving and committed choices for yourself. Therefore as Serge Benhayon inspired you so to is your story an inspiration for others.

  346. Thank you SLE for sharing your experience of running away from reality but finding that there is no escape from yourself. The inspiration of Serge Benhayon and all those who have made a choice through being part of Universal Medicine to bring a commitment to themselves and how they live are showing that there is a way to live with love and compassion without being overwhelmed by the mess they see all around them and not adding to the mess.

  347. There are many different ways to avoid the loving, connected commitment that SLE writes about. I know that I have tried what looked like commitment, having worked very hard, yet this was not, as life was very narrow, work focused, and exhausting because my commitment did not in any way involve love for myself or others.

  348. Very beautiful to read SLE. This line: “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for.” is so true. It is a mass illusion indeed to think that we do not have an influence. If I go out and would see all people living like you lived before, as in going around the world and not committing, distracting themselves and giving up, it gives me the feeling that that is ok and also an excuse to do that too. Just this reflection alone is so powerful! The same with your choice to be responsible and commit to life, this inspires me deeply to do the same, thank you.

    1. Yes I liked that remark too about being a mass illusion that we are too small and insignificant. Everyone’s reflection can inspire another to connect to their true essence and this is how it will all unfold over time. There is a real force wanting us to stick with the mass illusion of feeling small. It’s awesome to see people breaking down those ideals and beliefs.

  349. I love your turn around SLE – what a transformation and blinking miracle to come back from the cave women to the gorgeous powerful women you are today. A million congratulations to you for taking responsibility and claiming how just important you are. This is indeed inspiration for us all 😍

  350. I was different because I made what I called at that time conscious dissuasions on looking after myself but at the same time I was placing myself outside the community I lived in.

  351. What an awesome blog to read SLE about how you have transformed your life as a result of committing to life due to the teachings of Universal Medicine. Each and every one of us can and do make huge difference to those around us when we are living in a loving way. The ripples effects are huge, just think about one man Serge Benhayon started re-creating ripples of love and look at how many people have been inspired to do the same.

    1. Serge Benhayon was the first drop of rain on the pond that sent a ripple out and what has returned is a gentle rain falling cascading endless ripples that will eventually touch everyone.

      1. Beautifully said sjmatsonuk – it only takes one person, in this case Serge Benhayon to send a ripple out and everyone will eventually be touched by it, often because of how stuck we are with our ideals and beliefs and the protection we have put up because of our hurts we need more then just one ripple to get through our barriers! Serge is an endless supply of ripples as now are many others.

  352. Wow, I really love this SLE. There is no cave in the world that we can escape to that will free us from our responsibilities in this world, or liberate us from being a part of it.
Even in closing our eyes to avoid the mess, we still know it is there. You have shown what it is to choose true freedom – opening your eyes in full and choosing to stand as you.

    1. Beautiful Kylie, perfect definition of what it is to choose true freedom – ‘opening your eyes in full and choosing to stand as you’. love it!

  353. SLE there is much power in your words and your shared experience. I too have been overwhelmed when I look out at humanity and the level of suffering that is there, but I now know that this overwhelm is a trick and that I am here to be the love that I am, and this is how I play my part in helping humanity to heal themselves.

  354. It is easy to find examples of how much in a mess humanity is in and easy to then make the conclusion that there’s nothing I can do about it. And that’s true, there is nothing I can do to make people commit to society, but rather wait for such people to decide for themselves to. There is only so much galavanting around the world one can do before misery or given-upness seems to set in. Your story SLE shows it is very possible to make such a choice and love that decision. You are an inspiration to millions who live life like you used to, and once commitment is chosen, I can’t imagine how amazing the world will then feel.

  355. Wow, what a turnaround SLE. Thankyou for sharing how your life used to be compared with now. Realising we have to change things from the inside, otherwise we are by-standers, either pontificating from on high or in giving up mode. Serge Benhayon has inspired so many of us to make new choices for our lives.

  356. I love your article SLE it so openly describes the choices you made and why, very similar to the choices I made for many years, knowing there was something more but not knowing how to access it, so instead choosing to opt out altogether. Like yourself I was blessed to meet Serge Benhayon and I can only agree when you say, “This was a magical turning point in my life where I was given a very honest but loving reflection on how I had been living and how there was so much more to life than the daily struggle I was finding myself in.” From being disengaged in life and making unloving choices, to being fully committed to myself, others, and life, and claiming my place in the world, I have made unbelievable changes in myself, and my life, and am now living a fulfilling and committed life in society, this would have been totally impossible for me nothing ago, and for many others I have witnessed also turning their lives around, without the dedication, true reflection, and deep love and support of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine.

  357. Your transformation is nothing short of a miracle SLE. Your life was one that people might champion as ‘free’, liberated from materialism and socially accepted norms. But is it free if all it leaves you free to choose is self neglect and abuse?
What if the greatest freedom a human being can experience is commitment to themselves and to life? Then the most mundane of jobs takes on a richness unsurpassed by the apparent liberation of the impulsive travels that never deliver us home.

    1. Spoken like a true philosopher Rachel, observing life, making sense of it and then offering a true way forward. Thank you.

  358. I can associate with that urge to ‘save the world’ and have gotten very discouraged by the awful state of things worldwide in the past. I love how you came to realise that the most powerful way to change the world is to work on your connection with yourself and deal with your hurts and issues, which then has an amazing ripple effect on other people around you through inspiration. SLE, this blog you wrote is a perfect example, how it sparks an amazing conversation through the comments that are made and can change how other people who have given up on life view their lives in a different way after reading your story.

  359. Wow SLE your story would make a great movie, how truly inspirational to be able to turn your life around as you have. So many could relate to wanting to run from life, being hurt by it, so much so living in a cave is preferable to living within society. Now reading that you no longer choose to do this and instead have committed back to life to make a difference, choosing to make a stand, to initiate change from within is deeply inspiring. The more who do this empower others to see they can also make that choice and instead of running true change is possible.

  360. What a beautiful turn-a-round SLE and testimony of Serge Benhayon. Your story from running away from life to full commitment to life is one of the thousands of similar stories globally where Universal Medicine has had a positive impact on the health and well being of a person. This shows how Universal Medicine is having a huge impact on public health, as the wellbeing of one person affects us all.

  361. We may feel that we are running away from life during those times that we hide away in whatever cave we may create, but life is always waiting for us when we poke our head out and usually in a much more challenging form than before. To be inspired to turn your life around, to begin to truly live in the world and to share your experience is the best and most real testimonial to the life changing wisdom presented by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. The world is a much richer place now that you have committed to be in it in full.

  362. Wow what an amazing turnaround SLE from the way you were choosing to live to what you are choosing to live today. I can relate to you living in a cave, although I never did, I still hid away by the way in which I chose to live. It is worth appreciating, the way you, I and many others have chosen a more responsible and loving way of living through the teachings and inspiring role models of Universal Medicine. We all have so much to offer by the commitment to being IN the world and reflecting there is another way of living.

  363. Thank you SLE for sharing your story so beautifully. So many parts struck a cord within me and I’m sure many others would feel the same. It reminds me of the story of The Prodigal Son.

  364. Opting in, instead of opting out of life, awesome SLE, and your line here so wisely a pertinent one to deeply reflect on when we make choices to live the life that we do: ” ….I realised the harm I was causing to myself and the harm I was causing to society by not being fully committed to life” – responsibility at its highest level, nothing is never NOT affected by our individual choices.

  365. Oh the great escape! There’s plenty of ways to throw the baby out with the bath water, so-to-speak about life in general. Mine was to find Never Never Land and be Peter Pan aboard yachts that travelled all over the world. Regardless, I can feel the commitment to life the author of this blog now has and the joy in doing so.

  366. Your story is very familiar to my own story. I was in the pattern of moving every 6 months and I was never able to feel comfortable or content within myself, running away every chance I could. I also am finding it amazing to be supported by Universal Medicine and I am just about to embark on a new chapter of my life changing jobs and following a different career path.. this would never have been possible without the support from UM courses and workshops.

  367. I have realised through attending the courses at Universal Medicine and having regular Esoteric Healing sessions, that I too was not committed to life which showed up in lots of different ways. I can relate to the endless travel around the world, always searching for answers outside of myself. Even down to the work I did and the reason I chose that line of work had a strong flavour of not committing to life. Through Universal Medicine I am still seeing more and more area’s of my life where I can bring a deeper level of commitment to myself first of al and to various areas of my life.

  368. Feeling the overwhelm of all the suffering in the world can seem to much, but as you write SLE, it is not about saving the world, it is simply about being all we can be and that does make a huge difference. Being all I can be is a work in progress, thanks the presentations of Serge Benhayon, I got started, who knows what might be going on by now for me, if not for understanding the truth of who we are.

    1. Mark and SLE I too have felt overwhelmed at the amount of suffering in the world and my inability to do anything about it. I now have a clear understanding that by sorting myself out I am, in fact helping to sort everyone else out. It is not possible to do anything of true value for anyone else unless we are doing it from an energy that is true. If I am a mass of open wounds and I go limping into a charity to offer support then all I offer is more of the falsity of life. Illusion meets illusion and so the cycle continues.

  369. One message I got very clearly from reading your blog SLE is the true power of a loving reflection. It is so inspiring to read how so many people recommit to themselves, each other and the world we live in… all with our own unique story to tell. We then become the loving reflections for others. It really does take all of us. It is a mass illusion, as you say that we are too small or insignificant to make a difference as everything we do affects all of us. Serge Benhayon is truly inspiring in all he reflects.

  370. You’ve really expressed just how important it is to appreciate what a difference we do make as individuals. It’s wonderful to read this and acknowledge how, prior to Universal Medicine, I had retreated from the world as much as I possibly could and now I can really feel how important my presence is wherever, whatever I’m doing in my day. The more connected I am with myself and to my loving way the more I know how I am does have an effect. I may not be able to pin point the chain of cause and effect but I do know if I live lovingly I am reducing the ill in the world, and if I am not, I am adding to it.

When I see suffering in other parts of the world I no longer have a sense of powerlessness because I know the quality of how I live does make a difference. I know if I ever want to say otherwise I am trying to make an excuse to not remain accountable for my choices being unloving.

  371. I can identify with feeling overwhelmed by society’s problems, and helpless and hopeless. What I learned from Serge Benhayon was to ‘observe but not absorb’ – to feel in full what is happening, but to not everyone’s issues on as my own. This has been invaluable as I no longer feel responsible for everyone else, but make sure I am responsible for everything I do, say and think. We are not powerless but really powerful.

  372. If we continue to hide away and not take responsibility for ourselves things will never change. “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside…” Change can be uncomfortable at times but what comes from it is a greater expansion and unwavering support from the love we all hold within.

  373. Thank you SLE for sharing your inspiring return to you. I love what you say about how realising that if we want things to change we have to choose to be part of that of the change and commit to life, this life that we are all are part of together. And with this we lead the way by showing that only by truly being ourselves is the way true change for us all begins.

  374. Thanks for sharing SLE, I have also have my version of a cave, and coming out into the light of day has been the most awesome, challenging, and ultimately freeing experience. Inspired and held by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine, instead of retreating, I now step into and towards life.

    1. What Serge Benhayon presents and the level of love he holds and shares is very powerful and a reflection of our own potential. It is a truth we know and feel hence why it is able to support us to change our lives around from the depths we have strayed to. I speak from personal experience and relate to completely changing the way of my life around. Thanks to Serge never holding love lived back.

  375. “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole” – this is so true and we often forget it has just as much impact in the opposite vector if we don’t claim ourselves and remain in ignorance and/or apathy.

  376. Wow! To see where you have come from to where you are now are Worlds apart. I can really feel the power in your words where you said you realised that you needed to take responsibility and grow up – to face the world from the inside out and not hide from it. I can feel your courage in taking charge to create a more supportive and sustainable life but also your true tenderness, sensitivity to all the things around you. Despite desperately wanting to run away you plucked up the courage and now live IN life instead of sitting on the side lines – there is much to appreciate here!

  377. I never went as far as living in a cave, I liked my comfortable bed too much, but I certainly ran away from humanity and anything that I deemed too difficult in life. I had never really heard the words ‘committing to life’ before Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine and it has taken me a while to understand what it really means and how much not committing has affected my life now.

    1. Alison, we can make a cave out of a castle. My cave was my depression. I was out and about in the world, supposedly. Well people could see me anyway, and I seemed to be doing things and working hard…
…however, I was actually bound up in misery and my commitment was to ticking boxes, not to living a full rich life.
      Universal Medicine changed that forever.

      1. I like that Dr Rachel Mascord…so true ‘making a cave out of a castle I certainly did that, mine was similar ticking boxes but there was an overhanging misery and sadness and emptiness that felt like a cave even though it looked like a castle.

      2. Rachel we can make a cave out of anything, as I was in a cave of comfort and couldn’t feel anything as I was so deep down in the cave. Thank God for Serge Benhayon for not living in a cave.

  378. We are so powerful with what we can each bring and yet we think we are too small to make a difference. We often stand back from life and watch it happen instead of being a part of it. I over heard a customer the other day in the cafe I work at expressing concern over a country that was in trouble and in the news recently, she then remarked, ‘but it’s all so far away and it is such a big problem’ and so the conversation fizzled out. We forget that even with one voice we can make a difference when it comes deeply felt from our heart.

  379. Wanting to hide away from the ‘enemy’ as forever devoting myself to nurturing and taking care of saving animals, certainly kept me busy enough so I did not need to face a heartless cold society. Reality came soon enough through raising young teenagers, it became clear that life was about lessons to learn and grow from as we take responsibility for our choices. It wasn’t until I met Serge Benhayon did I come to realise the full extent of how much love was there to share and commit in full to life and humanity.

  380. Feeling the equality with everyone else, there is deep understanding and humility that we are all the same deep down. We are not special, but the reflection we can bring in choosing to be in life, is a deep healing for ourselves as well as for the whole world. Only by living what we know to be true, can there be found a different way.

  381. I too have felt overwhelmed by what seemed to be the enormity of what is happening in the world, and that overwhelm is felt in retrospect, because of feeling, yet not expressing what has been felt. Do we not at times avoid expressing, in fear of what may come up, the judgment of ourselves for reacting or not having it together, and therefore, choose to withdraw from the world only to find that the tension felt from not expressing is deeply abusive to ourselves and to others too?

  382. There is such power in your sharing SLE, as the power of changing anything is absolutely to first be a part of it, instead of avoiding it. Commiting back to life is amazing in realizing that we are all a part of each other, and there is no need to protect ourselves from the world when we simply express in truth and with love.

  383. It’s funny how we forget we are all an equal part of society with something unique to contribute which does matter, as children we instinctively knew this. Rediscovering this later an adults particularly if we have run from it, as I did, is empowering and expanding encouraging us to embrace so much more that we could have imagined. Great story SLE.

  384. This is so true SLE, thank you for sharing what can only be described as a miraculous change of heart. “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” We are extremely important and we have an enormous impact on the world we live in, so much so that we really would rather not know about it, because then it means taking responsibility for ourselves and not blaming other people for our woes. Serge Benhayon very firmly puts that back on our radar, that we have power and hence a huge responsibility to ourselves and one another and that playing small does not diminish this in anyway at all. The transformation you have brought about in your life in just four years is astounding and a true example of the power of Universal Medicine, when the truth of the teachings are truly felt, heard and embodied.

  385. BAM! Truth laid out for all to see. Punchy, honest, real and engaging – love it. Such simple, strong and straightforward sharing of how you went from being very un-engaged in life and making choices that were not loving (nor from who you truly are) to taking responsibility and growing up and to now fully engaging in life. You are super awesome SLE – another living miracle as inspired by Serge Benhayon. He is a game-changer – and we are a life-changers when we choose to get on board and commit to life.

    1. Agreed sarahflenley we are game changers and we need to accept ourselves as living miracles. I have the deepest respect and love for Serge Benhayon for initiating the life change within me and all the students.

  386. One of the gifts that have unfolded through what Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine has offered, is the opportunity to be truly present in meeting others. Who I am is expanding everyday and not contracting as had been in the past. You have brought yet another ‘Blessing’ to my day by sharing the experiences you have had and the choices you are now making SLE. Thank you for joining the world and making the commitment you are.

  387. I have found the experience of committing to life again to be at times rather uncomfortable, because I have had to see all the potential that I walked away from in the first place.

    1. Hear hear Shami. I’m sure there are many people who can relate to this, including myself. Imagine if we chose self responsibility earlier in life? But the opportunity we have to teach the young now is ready and available so, yep, we wasted a little bit of time there, but it’s no doubt all part of the plan.

    2. I agree Shami that facing all that could have been possible is definitely very uncomfortable but the magic that happens when you commit to life in full is absolutely worth any discomfort.

      1. It certainly is Ingrid! It can take some time to acknowledge the fact that you’ve delayed living life in full – and can certainly be a bit of an uncomfortable process but all that comes with committing to yourself, life, and all those around you without reservation is definitely worth any initial discomfort!

    3. Yes so true Shami, and its a very uncomfortable thing to feel just how much potential we have abandoned, because we gave up on ourselves. Learning to feel the anguish and still love oneself is a growing art, because the real resolution is to keep on committing regardless of our defeats and failures, in the knowing that all these defeats and failures are simply lessons we can learn from.

    4. A great sharing Shami and something that this brings up for me is how complicated I have had life and how I have made it hard. And kept telling myself that life has to be hard. Which is very far from the truth and the reality is life can be very very simple and starts with how I am with myself and others.

    5. That’s so beautiful Shami – and so revealing. Once we can understand how we have turned our back on potential we can begin to re-connect and embrace our potential once again.

    6. There was a time I also felt uncomfortable and – embarrassed – but then I realised I did all these things in order to enjoy my life and felt they were a necessary part. When I realised that it is actually easier to enjoy life when we are in life and committed to it I found it perfectly ok not to have realised earlier – almost nobody else seemed to have realised either.

  388. As I read some of the comments after your blog I just felt to add that we often acknowledge the ripple effect, the image of a drop in the water and watching the outward ripple as it expands the effect that one drop had in one moment. We can see this as a positive effect or a negative effect but there is always an effect, both physically and energetically. We have the opportunity, in every moment, to live with an awareness of this and building a way of living that ensures the ripple is not one that adds to the harm, lovelessness and disregard that has become so ‘normal’.

  389. “Each and every single one of us is so important” and so very precious. It really is time to stop fighting ourselves and others, a battle doing so much harm. We are all divine precious beings. I really appreciate all you have shared here SLE and how powerful a loving reflection can be, what we can all be.

  390. An amazing transformation SLE. I agree with you that its easy to feel we are too small to change things so ‘why bother’, but by doing this we underestimate the affect that the reflection of our light and livingness can have on those around us.

  391. This is an awesome blog on commitment. Being committed to life and being our true selves that is one of Love, Joy and Harmony is the greatest gift we can give to others as this opens their heart to feeling the same quality within themselves. If this is possible then this way of being could have a ripple effect, healing the world? Very inspiring SLE.

  392. I agree SLE. I’ve always seen the way the world is as too hard. But you’ve made a Great point- that even though we are one person, we have a huge ability to bring about change in the world. Through changing how we are with the world. People tend to learn through observation. Often observing the same thing over and over from all the people they meet… What if they see simething different for a change? Something that is harmonious and super supportive ? Its not seen very often and is certainly different to the norm… Inspiration goes a long way.

  393. The work of Serge Benhayon has also helped me to come to see all other others as my brothers, rather than picking and choosing who I will accept and who I will shun. Old patterns of judgement still arise from time to time but they are steadily diminishing as I return to a more loving way of being.

  394. That is very much how I felt growing up SLE, I didn’t go into a real cave but I think I created one where I could hide from what I saw was mans inhumanity to man. We were all so horrible to each other and as a child I couldn’t see how to grow up and not want to change that and ‘save everyone’. I realise now you can’t save anyone let alone everyone but you can show by embracing all of you, that there is another way. We save ourselves, engage in the world and be the change we want to see.

  395. SLE I have never lived in a real cave but hiding I did never dared to feel how much I love people so ran away from society. Since I am inspired by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine I know we all are responsible for what we call society. As you have written; ‘We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.’

  396. To come to where you have now, from sleeping in a cave and completely disengaged with society, is a miracle. I can certainly reflect on where I had myself in a metaphorical cave to escape from the world and avoid responsibility.

  397. Thinking we are too small and insignificant to change anything is a way of avoiding responsibility. It is as you say a ‘mass illusion’ because our reflection of the way we live counts for a lot…probably more than we know. We are either contributing to the misery and struggle of life or we are contributing to life based on love and connection which can inspire so many, as you have done.

  398. Awesome sharing SLE – I too have found my life turn around with the support of Universal Medicine. Like you I was at a point where I just wanted out – I did not want to be a part of society, I did not really want to work nor be around in any city nor town and I thought that the best ideas was to buy a farm or some land out in the boonies and live off talk water and grow my own food and essentially isolate myself from society. What I was seeing and feeling in society did not equate with what I knew to be a real way of living and I was reacting to that. However, with the help of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine, I too have begun to understand that to truly make a change in our world, I had to begin with myself and to accept and love myself more. In the process, I also began to commit to life rather than run away from it (my way of running away had been to immerse myself in studies and keep going from one degree to the next). And in this unfoldment, I have found myself developing a far greater understanding of what is going on in the world and the role that I play and the power that I hold in reflecting what is true and hence supporting the well needed changes around us. Thank you SLE for reminding us all of how commitment to life and an understanding of people and ourselves can allow for so much more of a love of life to unfold.

  399. How far so many people have come, from caves and addictions to committing to life, your sharing SLE is just now one of many who have turned their life around. Whats outstanding to me, is that although Serge Benhayon is a fantastic speaker, what comes across powerfully in meeting him is the actual way that he lives. In this way he illustrates we are constantly presenting to others. So why not present the glory of Love?

  400. If I had found your cave I would have been there with you! I did gather food though in my time of turning away from society. I sprouted seeds and gathered edible weeds and flowers and prided myself on never cooking or having to go to a supermarket, yet there were some things that I did need to slip in for. I thank God for Serge Benhayon and all he presents everyday as this has changed my life also, from one of having completely given up and not being able to commit, to now taking responsibility and claiming my part in society.

  401. I can relate to all of what you have shared here .. apart from I have not lived in a cave!! After I took one year out to go traveling from work this turned out to in the end be a long downward hill spiral of disregard and complete lack of self worth and self love. I viewed society, mostly the government as the enemy and just kept running from job to job and place to place in my bid to be free. Throughout this time I met many other people that felt a similar way and blamed the world, society, the government for what was wrong and the mess we were/are in. Not during any point thoughtout this period did I or others think to look at our responsibility in all of this and how we were actually contributing to the mess by not fully committing to life. Writing this now I realise back then I saw commitment as a 9-5 job in a suit, but this is not what it is about. Commitment is about being willing to be present and here in full (both feet in) and taking responsibility for ALL of the choices we have made. I can now see and feel the difference with this and how empty life is without committing … although this is still very much work in progress for me.

  402. Being a mirror for each other is the greatest gift we can make to the world, accepting what we see in this mirror and lovingly observing and evolving this reflection is what we can gift ourselves with – and by that everyone as well.

  403. SLE what an incredible turn around you have made in your life. I feel many people can relate to this even though they may not ever lived in a cave in not wanting to be part of life. With the support of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine it’s amazing how we can turn our lives around.

  404. Thank you for taking the time to tell us your story, it’s so easy to step off on the wrong foot and go through life without ever realising that you stepped off on the wrong foot. Thank you Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine for your loving reflection and for showing us the way.

  405. You may have lived in a cave SLE and not committed to work or relationships, but your story is so very common in that many of us, including myself, were living in our own version of a cave, hiding away and not committing in full to life before coming to Universal Medicine.

  406. A seriously inspiring blog, showing that running away from life isn’t the way as it buries us further in our own abyss and that taking responsibility for our choices enables us gently to reconnect to what’s going on in the world without going into overwhelm at the sheer scale of it all.

  407. Honouring yourself and committing in full to life; realising the huge impact that each and every one of us can have for ourselves and for everyone else – these have indeed been huge shifts in how you view yourself and the world around you – from erstwhile hermit to full time beacon of light – wow! All this from the reflection of one who lives as beacon of light….

  408. I was very moved reading your story SLE, what an amazing turn around you have made, the world made richer too because you chose to rejoin it. The Universal Medicine approach being proven, yet again, to deliver.

    1. Absolutely Jeanette, what we don’t realise when we are so deeply caught up in the illusion, is that the World is MISSING OUT on our Divine brilliance – our true expression in the world. Just that alone gives others a reflection to now know there is more to us than just this planet, this body, 5th Avenue N.Y or Harrods in England. Thank you SLE for sharing yourself with us, I am deeply humbled by your words.

  409. Through Serge’s presentations I’ve come to understand the true meaning of Brotherhood, and the fact that as humans we are supported by the universe to evolve and return to our true way of being and purpose. The quality of Brotherhood is absolute equality and no-one gets left behind. It does however require that we each do our work, and by living with energetic integrity and committing to life we align with the pulse of the universe. This picture isn’t complete however until we all play our part. And I too am beginning to comprehend how “every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole”. Thank you SLE for sharing your experience in choosing another way, the true way, the path of personal responsibility, self love and love for humanity.

  410. Yes SLE, it is all up to us, all of humanity, to see and feel how we are living. It is how much we follow up our responsibility in life.. Important note: that it is beautiful to actually feel responsible I must say, and it comes with so more ease then going against my responsibility, which is often making my body ache, hard and I would feel very complex in my mind (head). Responsibility is so simple and loving, why would we not take it?

    1. ‘Responsibility is so simple and loving, why would we not take it?’ Thanks Danna for the reminder that we have to fight to avoid responsibility with harmful effects on our body but stepping up and taking my true responsibility allows for a flow in my life that is beautiful.

  411. What an amazing turnaround SLE. It is truly inspiring to read this, and many of the other blogs on this site, where people share their stories of the huge impact that Universal Medicine has had on their life. The stories that are shared all have a slightly different flavor but often the root cause is similar with lack of self love, not committing to life and not taking responsibility for our choices. Regardless of our background, Serge Benhayon offers a loving and practical reflection of how life can be when we live all that we are.

  412. I too used to feel overwhelmed by the wars, suffering and pain going on in the world, and then wondered how an earth I could make a difference. That feeling can sometime lead to us giving up, and even though I did not go and live in a cave, I can relate to not fully committing to life and wanting to just look after me and my own. I too have learnt from Serge Benhayon’s presentations that committing to life does not mean I have to save the world and put all the wrongs right. I just have to bring all of me to everything I do.

  413. SLE, this is very known to me: I had always seen humanity’s sufferings as too big to comprehend and would get lost in the overwhelming feeling that I needed to do something to help in some way. When this seemed impossible it was easy to give up and use something to distract myself.
Now sitting at an airport amongst lots of people your blog reminds me to stay with me and not be afraid to stay open to humanity. A great gift.
    Thank you.

  414. I can feel the Joy in the commitment to yourself and everything in life. This is inspiring as I can see myself working hard, commiting to many things which all feel very True, but while doing them I’ve told myself that I can’t be with me. Which I know – from my head – is not True, but too often I find myself not fully connecting to me. This pattern is strong, but the great thing now is that I do see and face it. That is the only way out. Out of the misery, back to the Preciousness that I am. Thank you for your article SLE.

  415. When I don´t take the time and the intention to appreciate myself I go down the road and feel as you say: We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole. To be able to see that even when I am not perfect I do have an impact is a choice to make from appreciation, never possible if i give up on myself.

  416. SLE I could not agree with you any more, I too have lived in a way that didn’t want to be apart of what society. Serge Benhayon has presented that lack of commitment results in lack of living to the full potential that we are capable of. It has been mind blowing the change in my life and making the commitment. With out it being a burden but actual something that I really do want to do. I am truly grateful Serge never holds back on what needs to be shared.

  417. I can relate to so much of your story. How I lived my life on the surface seemed ‘normal’ and did not have the drinking, abusive relationships or the cave, however I too had given up on the world big time, felt ineffectual in making any difference. In fact I had become very frustrated and blaming of everyone and everything. It was such a blessing to meet Serge Benhayon and start to regain my trust in myself, in humanity and in how every single choice and action makes a difference.

  418. It makes sense that if we change our choices our lives change. Almost everyone is waiting around for our lives and those around us to change without making any effort to be active in the parts of our lives we can affect and have a say in. Complaining and feeling powerless has never truly supported me in life. Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine have been amazing role models in reminding me and many others that we have this ability and choice always.

  419. SLE, you may have had your cave but I have hidden in my mind for so long, afraid to step outside and be seen. What’s the worse that can happen if I peep my toe out of the cave, am I going to get struck by lightening, no, but I may have to face my responsibilities, stop indulging in self-doubt, deal with my hurts and come out of my comfort. Small price to pay for returning to the love and awesome power that I know I innately am, and SLE it looks like you have begun to claim that for yourself already 😉

  420. As adults we seem to have this concept of what responsibility is but we don’t seem to often embrace in full what it means to be truly responsible. It is like a part of us is resisting any facet of true responsibility in our lives and this is simply what Universal Medicine through Serge Benhayon shows us, a living example of what it means to embrace true responsibility in-full and see it is actually very very glorious when we live this way.

  421. A powerful testament of the truth that ‘living in a cave’ does not get one anywhere or change anything and instead we can each change things if we are part of what is going on.

  422. You literally lived in a cave which is mind boggling – but I know I have used many different things and ways to not commit to life. Start with ourselves we are all connected one person making a change can impact on so many.

  423. SLE this is super powerful: “We often feel we are too small and insignificant to change anything and have our say, yet this is a mass illusion most of us have fallen for. We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole”. It stopped me to feel that there is no place for me or any of us to think we are small – and from that assumption hold back from the world what it is we bring, when we choose to reject that illusion.

  424. This is a brilliant blog, and such an amazing statement: “I realise now if I want to truly change things around me, I need to be a part of it and then in time change it from the inside”. If we sit back and wait for others to do something, things will never change.

    1. This comment, plus of course the blog, provokes the question of: what inspiration really is? If we come to understand that we ourselves, each and every person who comes to understand their Livingness as being important, is part thereof the healing for all, then who wouldn’t want to be more committed to life in general?

  425. Thank you for this wonderful testimony on how we can change our life and realize, how important and powerful we are, when we take our part to change the whole what we might have felt to retire from before, because we felt it as being too harmful. I have also experienced a turnaround from creating me a kind of ivory tower to live in, to feeling responsible for my life and the drop of water in the ocean I am. I constantly develop my life further on to bring the love to the world, I love the world to be. And a huge finding was, that the perception of feeling helpless became powerless, when I started to contribute. I hadn’t expected that while living in the ivory tower. So making the smallest step and breaking this consciousness is worth it.

  426. ‘The harm we cause to society by not committing to life’ – I have come to a new understanding of commitment to life lately – that it’s not about doing more, and exhausting myself through endless activity, but about being more of me in life. Also the responsibility I have to stop playing small and pretending I’m insignificant, because it serves nothing and no one and is completely self indulgent. Giving up and throwing our hands up in despair at the world’s problems is a far easier option than actually looking deeply at our own patterns, behaviours and relationships, and starting from there. It’s only by choosing the latter that we can start to make true changes in our own lives and relationships. If we choose the former then we just perpetuate the messiness.

    1. Absolutely Bryony I totally agree, commitment to life isn’t necessarily about doing more but about being more truly ourselves in everything that we do. And playing small and insignificant serves no one.

    2. ‘Giving up and throwing our hands up in despair at the world’s problems is a far easier option than actually looking deeply at our own patterns, behaviours and relationships, and starting from there.” this is so true Bryony, and SLE what an inspiring example you are of how we can step back in to life and choose to live committed and loving and learning.

  427. We all have an important part to play in the grand plan, and our contribution is huge although it might seem small or insignificant.

  428. What a great transformation you have chosen to make SLE. The loving reflections Serge Benhayon offers are a very powerful gift which clearly you accepted and taken responsibility and committed to life and your part in society.

  429. It never ceases to amaze me the many different ways we go about the same thing – avoiding ourselves, each other and the purpose of life. Thanks for sharing SLE.

    1. Same here. We are all so creative with ways of disengaging from ourselves and society, we barely even notice it. I know I didn’t until it was brought to my attention. If anything I probably thought I was doing society a service by staying away from it.

    2. So true Helen. You could share a life’s story about a highly responsible person who works long hours and takes on everybody else’s problems, and the result is the same – a person who does not know themselves, does not live with self regard, and who still holds society as the enemy even though they seem to comply. These stories are great because they eliminate judgement. When we don’t know ourselves, anything is possible.

      1. Reading this Rachel bought to mind a quote that I love by Francis Bacon on the subject, so I looked it up (the marvels of google) so as to not misquote it and am adding it here.
“it is a sad fate for a man to die too well known to everyone else and yet unknown to himself.”

  430. Great Sharing SLE. I too thought that society was the enemy, but was living with totally no responsibility. Once I came across the teachings of Universal Medicine and started to change my life, I began to live responsibly and care for myself, and hence care for others a lot more.

    1. I am learning harryjwhite that care for myself, and understanding that I hold the key to what I look for in society or my family etc. Connecting with and living more from this connection and honouring who I am takes away so much falseness and excuses. It is a work in progress though.

  431. I might not have a cave to hide in but I am going to reflect on the ways in which I choose to hide and not step up to the responsibility required of me.

    1. haha – and I too am going to explore this. I was intrigued to read that Jo actually did what I so often told myself would be the answer to my problems!! I just built invisible caves that I carried around with me wherever I went.

  432. Committing to life in the way you have described is amazing. From being comfortable in running away from life and hiding in a cave, literally, to the level of responsibility you share here is deeply inspiring.

    1. SLE and this blog is totally inspiring, what an incredible turn around in the way of life and level of responsibility. SLE you are a living miracle one of hundreds I have observed who have changed their lives for the better with the support of the living wisdoms of Universal Medicine.

  433. To fully commit to life is not a burden or a drag, it is empowering and sets us free. When we face life, we face ourselves and from that evolve each and every day.

    1. I would like to turn it around and say, when we face ourselves we begin to face life, then it becomes a commitment, not only to ourselves but to everyone, as we all evolve together.

    2. Committing to life can sound like a burden. I would hear the words and see it as something more to add to my already long list of things to do. In reality there is nothing more to do. For me it’s been about not seeing life as a drag, but an opportunity to connect with myself and others. Appreciating that I matter and we each have our own unique value in this world has been key to me making this change.

    3. I agree, Kate: committing to life is often seen as heavy burden – a serious responsibility that takes us away from our extended moments of distraction, entertainment and escapism. But committing to life can be a joyous reunion with self and with others,if we but allow it to unfold as such.

  434. Such a great story SLE and one of the things I value most about the approach taken by Universal Medicine, it is encouraging us to live BOTH in respect of the energetic world we inhabit and the day to day life we are very much part of.

    1. Beautifully put Joel, it was coming home for me to hear in Universal Medicine presentations, that we are so much more than just our physical bodies but our bodies are so important to be cared for and nurtured as they let us feel we are from so much more.

    2. It is truly amazing the level of commitment found in the students of the way of the livingness. They are committed to life and fully engaged while being aware of the bigger picture and the importance of all the choices that each of us make each and every day. Thank you for sharing your story SLE – what an inspiring turn around from running away from society to now being a successfully employed manager.

    3. Yes Joel, that is something I had never considered, what was my energetic responsibility. In fact I don’t think I was aware that there was a way to live that had this energetic awareness, and yet I know that I always felt there was more to life. There was a myriad of spiritual explanations and beautiful people to connect with but most of them were withdrawn or withdrawing from the world, as hurt as I was by the lack of love. To live knowing that everything we do has an effect on everyone brings a deep level of responsibility to the whole, that we cannot live in isolation. Respect for both the energetic and physical world, well pointed out.

    4. So agree Joel, Universal Medicine inspires so many to connect to the fact that we all have something to contribute to the world. I feel it brings back true responsibility and purpose in life and asks us to see ourselves for who we truly are.

    5. Great to note Joel. It is indeed in the balance between the 3 dimensional reality and the truth or our 5 dimensional existence that is where the magic and miracles happen. Without one the other can’t be experienced in full in this life.

  435. Awesome blog SLE. “We choose to be unaware of how each and every single one of us is so important and can, in effect, have a great impact on all those around us, and the world as a whole.” This is so true and the more we live life from this knowing and this power, the more we see just how amazing we are.

    1. This line stood out for me too Maree. I could not agree more. I have definitely been one to turn a blind eye and play dumb in terms of my contribution to society. In the past I would never have thought that I could be of any value whatsoever. I realise now, that that is the very reason humanity is where it is, we all lost our way. And as we start to find our way again, one by one we begin to make an impact that slowly but surely is spreading and touching all those we are in contact with.

  436. What an amazing testament to the power of choices! We can run forever but never can we distance our self from our bad choices. Serge Benhayon has shown that it is never too late to change past choices and return to who we have always been… just love.

    1. We can run and run, from jobs, houses, families, even countries, but the thing we are running from we take with us…The love we keep shut inside of us , afraid to let it out, and be seen for who we truly are.

    2. We can run but we can’t hide. Our choices will always catch up with us. Many of us try to run away by distracting ourselves from feeling what we feel in our hearts to be true, that we want to love and be loved, just for being ourselves. My life has changed too thanks to the Teaching of the Ageless Wisdom as presented by Serge Benhayon, as there can only ever be one truth and that truth is love, and once that love has been felt, even by one little speck, there may be some resistance, but there is definitely no going back as we are all forever evolving, back to the truth of who we are, as you say sjmatsonuk… just love.

    3. So true sjmatsonuk. Our choices, those that support us and those that do not, are always there, we can never hide from them, but it is never to late to make a different choice.

    4. The power in taking responsibility for our choices is nothing short of life changing – it’s not always easy because we don’t always want to look at and feel the consequences of our past choices, but it is definitely simple and clear and “never too late”!

    5. Love this, sjmatsonuk – we have a chance to change our old patterns, behaviours and choices thousands of times a day. It is never too late.
