What’s in a Saying?

This morning I realised the impact that certain common sayings have had in affecting my choices throughout my life. We tend to think that a saying or proverb is used by a loved one with fondness, as an ‘endearing’ turn of phrase, but are they really supporting us?

As a young girl, one saying I can remember clearly being told to me regularly by my Gran was, “Cold hands, warm heart.” I remember her having very cold hands so it was reassuring to me that she had a warm heart. Continue reading “What’s in a Saying?”

My First Impression of Serge Benhayon

My first impression of Serge Benhayon has never changed since I met him about ten years ago. I felt the great love and care he had for me and everyone around him, equally so.

At that time, I was really struggling in life. I had almost given up on therapy – I’d tried Primal Scream Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and general counselling. I remember a psychiatrist assessing me at one point and asking why was I being assessed: was it to determine if I was crazy or not? At one point I even had my own Community Psychiatric Nurse assigned to me. I didn’t know what other avenues to pursue to overcome a general feeling of daily depression and futility. Thinking about Thinking

Reading a blog about a friend’s experience of cooking something she thought to be original, only to find the exact same dish was simultaneously being ‘discovered’ by a colleague, got me thinking about thinking and the origin of ideas and information.

The example of a ‘new’ recipe being thought of, ‘discovered’ and created by two foodies at the same time, invites the notion that maybe we tune into ideas rather than create them, with more than one of us sometimes catching onto or receiving the same thought. Exposing Ideals and Beliefs: Discovering Deep Tenderness

When I look back at the ideals and beliefs I have grown up with, I have to shake my head; it is just not true that males are strong, brave and seem to be a lot less tender-hearted than females. Some may not show it, but men are naturally and deeply tender, which is what I recently discovered during an esoteric bodywork session.

I falsely believed that to be successful means working really hard and doing whatever needs to be done, regardless of my physicality and how tired I, or anyone else, might be. I would always push through to get everything finished. Continue reading “Exposing Ideals and Beliefs: Discovering Deep Tenderness”

Shining Like a Diamond

Since I was sixteen years old, diamonds have deeply fascinated me. Not because of their material value, but because of their unique physical properties and sparkle.

I have learned a lot about jewellery and gems since then – about the history, craftsmanship and art of jewellery and gem cutting. I discovered many amazing details over the years, but nothing has ever fascinated me more than the sparkle of a diamond. Continue reading “Shining Like a Diamond”

What Does Universal Medicine Mean?

Many look at the name Universal Medicine and wonder why this particular choice of words was made to describe the complementary healing business founded by Serge Benhayon in the township of Goonellabah, NSW, Australia, in 1999.

The Universe, as we may know, is the constellation of planets and stars our Earth is a part of. As many have discovered, the Universe we belong to is but one of several that exist. It can be hard to fathom that there is so much more out there beyond this planet of ours.

Medicine is something we may identify that is needed for our bodies in order to heal them from some sort of illness or disease. Illness or disease are states that are not in line with what is ‘healthy’ or our most natural and harmonious way of being. There are varying perspectives on what should be classified as medicine, and what is able to bring true healing. Continue reading “What Does Universal Medicine Mean?”
