Dear Me: A Letter to My Relationship with Me

Dear Me,

We’ve had an up and down relationship over the years, but I’ve recently reached a point in my life where I really felt like re-connecting with you.

I know that mostly I’ve tried hard to ignore you, drowning you out with a million distractions. Every time you turned up I freaked out and ran the other way. And when you started talking to me through my body – well! That was the last straw! I wanted nothing more to do with you. I shut you down and that was that – you left me in peace, with the numbness that I was seeking so that I didn’t have to even look in your direction. You were asking me to commit to being with you, and to be who I was, and I wasn’t ready to give up the life I’d created. I’ve always known you were there, waiting for me to connect to you, but I liked to take my time, flirting with many versions of you that weren’t really it. Each time they disappointed me. We are Here Together, so Why are we so Separated?

Most of us go through life with varying relationships with family members, friends, colleagues or neighbours. And most likely we all have, or had, at least one best friend, be it mother, father, a playmate, school friend or lover. With them we feel at ease; we trust them with our deepest thoughts and feelings; we reveal much more to them than to anybody else.

I had two such friends in my life. As a small child I had a ‘best friend’ that I spent my pre-school years with. We were exploring ourselves and life together with uninhibited curiosity and joy. Continue reading “We are Here Together, so Why are we so Separated?”

At War With Ourselves

“We can never deal with the problems of the world if we don’t deal with our own personal problems first.” Serge Benhayon (1)

Have you ever looked out at life and felt overwhelmed or saddened by the conflict around us? There is war on the news, conflict and unrest on the streets, conflict and tension in workplaces, and there can be tension and unsettlement in our homes and our personal relationships. And for all this conflict and tension we can get so used to it being around in every walk of life that we consider it as ‘normal’, and just the way it is. Yet deep down inside us we know that this isn’t our natural state. Continue reading “At War With Ourselves”

From Family Madness to a Miracle Re-union

Back in 2013 I spent a 4-day holiday with my sisters and their families in a 100sqm apartment in the middle of the city of Barcelona with five adults, three teenagers and one child.

We had the most amazing time together, preparing all meals by ourselves, including the grocery shopping, catering to all the different dietary needs, going to bed when the city just wakes up and rising when the city goes to sleep – including the teenagers, who were very cooperative and in flow with the family and took responsibility and cooked their own healthy meals, according to their own needs, which impressed me deeply. Trusting What I Feel

Thanks to the support of Universal Medicine, the teachings presented by Serge Benhayon and the various esoteric modalities, I have begun to trust more deeply what I feel, and be less caught up in needing life and my daily tasks to be a certain way. Hooray!

This was clearly demonstrated to me on a morning walk today. Continue reading “Trusting What I Feel”

Esoteric Healing Modalities – what have they got to do with the Board Room?

Over the last 13 years I have attended Universal Medicine events and workshops, and I have attended courses and trained in Esoteric Massage®, Esoteric Chakra-puncture® and Sacred Esoteric Healing®. I’ve also undertaken the required practice hours, studied anatomy and physiology and nutrition, and gained accreditation from the Esoteric Practitioners Association (EPA)* for these modalities.

This may seem quite reasonable, and it is. Except that I work as a leader, manager, and coach in the public sector in the UK running my own management consultancy company, and I am also an Associate of two UK universities. So why would I use the time and resource to study these modalities? After all, it would be very unlikely that I’d be undertaking esoteric massage at a corporate board workshop, or during a University Lecture. And for the field of work I am in, I have studied extensively including a PhD, as well as a number of vocational qualifications and two other degrees.
