Esoteric Yoga: Union with Me and God… at last

By Fiona McGovern, Isle of Arran, Scotland

LOOKING FOR UNION

I am often asked if I do yoga and my answer has been, “yes I do, but no, not in the way I used to practise and teach it”.

Yoga claims to be uncompetitive, and a way to find union.

I practised yoga for over 30 years and taught it for 20 years: I worked with some of the leading teachers from around the world and read widely on the subject.

Yes, yoga does mean union, but I never found an explanation of what that union was… just something wishy-washy, like connecting to your ‘higher self’ – and that was left to your own interpretation. It always felt like an unattainable state. It was like a carrot in front of me that kept me hooked; forever enticing me to get to an elusive destination outside of me and far away – always requiring more study, another posture and more courses – which I dutifully did. A Course in Miracles

by Anne Malatt, Australia

Some years ago I met a man, Serge Benhayon, who inspired me. I had a healing session with him and began attending Universal Medicine courses. These courses have been a course in miracles.

WHY ARE THEY MIRACLES?

I am now my true weight, having carried over 20 kg in excess weight for years. Continue reading “A Course in Miracles”

Is the Way Of The Livingness the First Religion to Honour the Menstruation Cycle?

by Vanessa Hawthorne, London, UK

RELIGION, PERIODS, POWER.

In Catholicism women are not allowed on the altar because they are unclean – because they bleed.

In Judaism you are not to touch anyone when you are bleeding: a quick search on google revealed this quote:

”A menstruating woman defiles everyone and everything she touches”. Hackles up.

I was talking with a young girl recently, who is being brought up as a Muslim; we spoke about being Muslim and what sense she made of their traditions. When I asked how a woman’s period was viewed, she wasn’t sure but knew that a woman could not pray while she is bleeding as her prayers would not be accepted by Muhammad; she can only pray when she is clean.

Not long ago I watched a movie ‘Agora’ – about Hypatia, a renowned astronomer, lecturer in philosophy and a woman who made a ginormous contribution to the development of mathematics during Roman Egypt. In a scene where the Christian priest is reading from what they were implying was the bible and therefore the word of God, that women should be silent, modestly dressed and not really seen – my hackles went up. In this speech he was condemning Hypatia to her death by saying she was a witch. I got angry at this point.

And I was struck by the theme that was staring me in the face: Continue reading “Is the Way Of The Livingness the First Religion to Honour the Menstruation Cycle?”

Will the Real Son of God Stand Up?

by Joel L, Western Australia

It is a clean crisp dawn on the Mount of Olives, birds fly overhead and the sun rises on the old city of Jerusalem. There is a hum of activity in the distance as news crew and onlookers gather for the arrival of ‘the messiah’, one of the most anticipated events in human history.

Thankfully God had given humanity plenty of notice as the specially formed committee took many years to work out the seating arrangements and make sure clergy of all faiths had been invited and sat in the right order. Continue reading “Will the Real Son of God Stand Up?”

Esoteric Yoga Classes: An Amplifier for Within

by Lee Green, Business Manager, Perth

I stood this morning in the shower, gently washing myself, feeling my feet supporting me as I stood in balance… totally balanced and steady with me. As I felt my feet, my fingertips were feeling all that they touched and gently washed. My hair and my scalp were right underneath them as they massaged my head. This simple feeling of me, being with me as I do something, has been brought about over time by the steady commitment to be with me always. I have supported myself to develop this connection through the regular study of esoteric yoga. Continue reading “Esoteric Yoga Classes: An Amplifier for Within”

I Am That I Am

by Paul Moses, Newrybar

I am that, I am… I slowly awake once more, I await another day.

Outside is dark and windy and I can feel the cold air of the beginning of winter on my face. Thoughts start to invade my space, bringing an anxiousness of what lies ahead; I know this all too well. In this knowing comes a surrender, an awareness – not to the invasive thoughts but to a stillness. Continue reading “I Am That I Am”
