What the Word Religion Means to Me

by Rosie Bason, Mullumbimby, NSW

I don’t know about you, but for me, up until recently, whenever I heard the word religion I wasn’t really comfortable with it.

I grew up with no religion as such, although my mother was brought up in a catholic family, so that way of living was still brought to me on many levels.

Having grown up sailing around the world I had the opportunity to experience first hand a lot of different types of religions and having learnt to speak a few different languages, I can see that when you do not have the correct translation or definition of a word, then you can really get the wrong idea about something. Ageless Wisdom: The Key to The Mystery of The Forgotten Fool

by Annette Baker. Sydney, Australia.

The Key to The Mystery of ‘The Forgotten Fool’.

These words came to me one day when I was about 17 – I was sitting at a train station, waiting for a train. The words came seemingly out of nowhere; they came only once and very clearly. I heard them and I have never forgotten them.

The words had no significance to me at the time, though I knew they were important. They had no reference to any book I was reading, nor any movie or programme I had seen. These words were a message for me – that I knew, about what, I didn’t. Continue reading “Ageless Wisdom: The Key to The Mystery of The Forgotten Fool”

A True Religion

by Dean Pirera

The Way of the Livingness is a deeply honouring religion that has no churches, no followers, no priests and  no-one who is of more value or importance than another – because it knows and presents that every single person is the equal Son of God returning to their natural and Divine way of being. It emphasises the word returning because it knows we are all already Divine and pure by essence – just disconnected from it and now making our way back again. In this religion, there are no ‘born sinners’, no ‘chosen people’, just everyone the same and equal in a one brotherhood. Continue reading “A True Religion”

New Deal

by Joel L, Western Australia

These pages are filled with some amazing stories, all with a common theme: people talking about a new found sense of self that appears to have stemmed from taking a deeper level of responsibility for, and commitment to, themselves. The term given for this way of living has been called the ‘Way of the Livingness’.

I am also a student of the Way of the Livingness and can say that the ‘me’ I am re-discovering is, without a question, the real me. In fact, it is that part of me I have wanted to connect to for most of my life. The simplest part about the Way of the Livingness is that it didn’t ask me to follow a set diet or regime. All it asked was for me to pay attention to the choices I was making and the effect they had on me. Over time, I noticed it made a difference when I slept, what I ate and how I exercised; in fact there was very little that I did, that did not make a difference to how I felt. Being the One

by Joel L

In the world there are many stories about ‘the one’ who will come to save us – humanity, that is.

I grew up in a religion that believes in a ‘one’ who will have all the answers, show us (humanity) the way and save only those who believe. This is not a new concept and the main variation on this theme is whether ‘the one’ has been before, or not. In my instance, the religion I grew up in has been waiting for ‘the one’ for 5772 years. Is UniMed A Religion And Am I Religious? Yes – And Yes!

by Victoria Lister, Brisbane, Australia

I’ve never thought of myself as a religious person, yet in a recent post on my experience of cyber-bullying, and in another on the media ambush of a Universal Medicine event at which I was present on 12 October, 2012, I found myself defending the five fundamental freedoms all Australians are entitled to, specifically the rights to freedom of association and religion.

This would imply Universal Medicine is a religion and I, as an attendee of Universal Medicine workshops, courses and other events, am a part of this religion and might even be a religious person. Continue reading “Is UniMed A Religion And Am I Religious? Yes – And Yes!”
