The Esoteric – our Divine and True Origins

There is so much about the Esoteric that many either don’t understand or recoil from when they hear this word mentioned. This is mainly due to this word having been bastardised and misused for centuries now, probably due to the fact that the church wanted to control the masses or stop any movement that would allow others to discover truth or a deeper connection to God.

In this blog I want to debunk the many myths and lies around the word Esoteric and share with you what the Esoteric has brought to my life.

The word Esoteric has been said to mean mysterious, secret, hidden, complicated or only known by a few people. These are just some of the misleading words the official Dictionaries use to describe the Esoteric.

In my life I have found the opposite to be true; it has only been through the Esoteric that I have come to understand so much about life, relationships, love, God and the Oneness we are all truly from.

We all know the true meaning of the word Esoteric but we have been bombarded with false pictures and images that obscure the beauty of the meaning of this word; you only have to look up at the night sky to feel there is a deeper connection and a universal intelligence that goes way beyond what we can feel or touch in our everyday lives. The Esoteric is not secret, hidden or mysterious in any way, shape or form. It is inclusive of everyone and treats everyone as equal.

The word Esoteric can be best described by the word ‘inner-most’ – that we are all innately from – a fiery form of love which most of us separated from as a form of protection in order to survive, feeling unable to hold onto this connection to Love in a world that seems to not welcome or support this to be lived.

I know for me I ended up feeling miserable and disconnected from myself and others and feeling like nothing in the world made sense to me at all. You only have to watch a baby or a small child play engaged for hours in their toys to feel the deep connection and the acceptance they have of this awareness and connection to Love. We all have this within us but somewhere along the way we felt the only way to be in the world was to leave this behind, or only show this on occasion.

The Esoteric makes a lot of sense and it’s very practical and simple: it encompasses everyone equally and asks nothing of us, especially in the ‘doing’ sense, but only that we live the love that we already naturally are. The Esoteric cannot be explained intellectually: many try this but people see through the knowledge because deep inside we all know the truth of the Esoteric whether we choose to live this or not.

To fully understand the Esoteric is to live it in full. It is only when one commits to walk this true path do others get the reflection of what the Esoteric truly is. This is not to be perfect in any way, only to live our lives with integrity and a deeper connection to living and sharing this love with others.

For me, the Esoteric changed my life because of the powerful reflection I received from Serge Benhayon’s commitment to living the Esoteric Way, The Way of The Livingness, consistently – showing how natural and normal it is to actually live this way. Whenever Serge presents you can deeply feel the Esoteric in his words, movements and his expression spoken from his Livingness, and when we are open to hearing this, it can make such a profound shift in our bodies and awareness. This is why speaking unlived knowledge about the Esoteric doesn’t resound with others, as it is in the Livingness of the Esoteric, our innermost, that others get to feel and to remember their deep connection to it and how this inspires and ignites others to also live this truth.

Throughout history there have always been those who have sought to suppress the expression and livingness of the Esoteric as it brings up much by way of reflection and shakes the very foundations of their seemingly comfortable lifestyles. With many choosing to remain ‘victims’ of their hurts and of life, they are all too willing to blame others when things go wrong rather than take responsibility for their own actions.

The Esoteric asks us to be fully responsible, as it knows that we are in brotherhood and sees all as equal sons of God. However, even though these attempts to suppress can come with a seemingly great force including the energy of supremacy, security and comfort, this kind of detractor energy can in the end never really touch us because in its true origin and divinity, the Esoteric is our very essence.

  1. People refer to their origins as in family’s origins or countries or places where they originally come from and although these facts play a certain role in what we feel familiar with and the personality we have developed, it is not our true origin and thus keeps us in separation without the one ultimate and only true origin we all share and can find within – the esoteric.

  2. “The Esoteric makes a lot of sense and it’s very practical and simple: ….. only that we live the love that we already naturally are.” And that love that we are is within the inner-most of every one of us.

  3. It is because the Esoteric asks us to be fully responsible that it is rejected and complicated by those who prefer to hold onto their hurts. I understand that it is a huge ask to become more aware and responsible when we have no nothing else for so long.

  4. So beautiful so true and real, the esoteric is a joy to know and live from with a responsibility and commitment to. “it has only been through the Esoteric that I have come to understand so much about life, relationships, love, God and the Oneness we are all truly from.”

  5. Living in connection with the ‘inner most’ is our most natural way of being. When we lose touch with our essence all of life becomes chaotic, both inside our bodies and in our world.

  6. I agree there hasn’t been anything else other than the Esoteric that has supported me to have relationships with others, God and the Universe that we are a part of, and to feel and understand how they are all the same, that they are no more or no less, just the same vibration of Love that we are a part of.

  7. “The Esoteric cannot be explained intellectually..” – because it is not academic, yet it is fully intelligent of the intellectual through its principles of The Livingness.

  8. Anna, I love this; ‘this kind of detractor energy can in the end never really touch us because in its true origin and divinity, the Esoteric is our very essence.’ I had this experience yesterday of simply being myself and being shouted at and insulted for expressing what felt true. The beautiful thing was that I stayed gentle and true to me and didn’t react or get upset because what I was expressing was true for me.

  9. “Throughout history there have always been those who have sought to suppress the expression and livingness of the Esoteric” and there are glaring examples of societies such as the Cathars and also individuals who were witch-hunted and the many others that were tortured for proclaiming the Esoteric. So history has shown that when we stand up for what is the truth and wish to share the Esoteric we can get crucified.

  10. It is so important to feel that the Esoteric is not an intellectual ideal which one can obtain through studying the Ageless Wisdom alone, rather than a way of living in connection to our innermost.

  11. “To fully understand the Esoteric is to live it in full.” To truly know and understand something is to live it.

  12. Our divine and true origins are Godly and nothing less. I too love listening to Serge Benhayon (and others) speak about our ancient lineage. It ignites something in me like nothing else can. It ignites the Angel, my soul and purpose.

  13. This makes no sense to me
“The word Esoteric has been said to mean mysterious, secret, hidden, complicated or only known by a few people.”
Those that want to know are given everything, so maybe there are some people who don’t want to know and so use all the above words to hide behind the fact that we do all know, because we all come from the same origin if we go back far enough, we were breathed forth by the grace of God and we will all return back to God. That is a fact and we can deny this of course which is why people want to make out that the word Esoteric means, mysterious, secret, hidden, complicated, it’s not, and that is an indisputable fact.

  14. To fully understand the Esoteric is to live it in full – yes and the more we live it, the more we are given to share, with reflections being more powerful than words… others get a true reflection of a true way of living which they can choose for themselves when they are ready.

  15. When I first heard Serge Benhayon speak, I listened, my body settled because everything he spoke about, I already knew, but was just not living it yet. The Esoteric and The Way of the Livingness has been an amazing support to change so much in my life, letting go of many unloving habits and choosing to self-nurture and truly nourish my body and my life which has resulted in expressing and sharing more of myself.

  16. I love how you how described Esoteric .. so simple and clear as it is in truth ‘The word Esoteric can be best described by the word ‘inner-most’ – that we are all innately from – a fiery form of love which most of us separated from as a form of protection in order to survive, feeling unable to hold onto this connection to Love in a world that seems to not welcome or support this to be lived.’ I feel the Esoteric is the baseline or foundation for life, we have a marker of where to begin from and then, from this there is a deepening which other words then describe, however currently we are far from living even this simple foundation. This is not hard to see from just everyday occurrences of how we are going to work, how we are at work, at schools and how we are at home and in all of our relationships. For me Universal Medicine has not only taught me the truth of the word Esoteric and what this means, but also reminded me so much about the truth in energy, energetic integrity and why we are here in the first place.

  17. The esoteric is only esoteric when it is lived, otherwise it is at best one´s intention to develop the esoteric, which is part of the natural process of re-connection and activation, or it is just ‘esoteric talk’ without any substance and thus becomes spiritual and therefore takes us even further away from our true and divine origins.

  18. Societies model says ‘How can we best keep the majority away from knowing the power, warmth, wisdom and divinity that they inherently are from birth…? By making the Esoteric mysterious, exclusive and unattainable will make a good start.’

    1. Even just mysterious will do it. Make it sound like it’s something that is not for all, that there it is for an elitist group, and you touch on a hurt that will turn people off straight away.

  19. The word Esoteric belongs to people, it is ours as a humanity to understand. Why then does a dictionary get to determine what this word means? A word that does not belong to it, to pages and ink. It belongs to us, it is ours to live and to learn by.
