Of Gods… and Un-Gods

…“Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.” (1)…

1962… somewhere in England… and school assembly draws to a close… With these stout comforting words echoing in our heads, our day begins in the knowledge that Out There somewhere, a rather stern but gentle and supremely benevolent man, (whose appearance resembles a Victorian Patriarch complete with flowing white beard), watches over us with care, concern and ineffable love while we trudge off to double maths on a dreary, grey, drizzly Thursday morning. Re-united with God

God was never mentioned when I was growing up; not because my parents were anti-God, it’s just that they weren’t ‘believers.’ They were fairly unusual in that they got married in a registry office, again not because they could categorically say that there wasn’t a God but because they couldn’t categorically say that there was. The Esoteric – the Grace of God on Earth

What is the esoteric? Perhaps the easiest way to grasp what the esoteric looks like is simply to engage with a baby and feel the connection, the warmth, openness and equality of affection that is expressed unequivocally to all by the infant, while observing how this childlike expression of these qualities elicits from everyone a deep regard for the delicateness of the infant, a sense of joy in relating to her/him and a melting, warm feeling in the chest – in fact, a gentle surrender to the self-same qualities within oneself. The Magnificence of GOD and The Mock Lock

I went on a walk with my friend early this morning, in an area unknown to me. She led the way to a lake and surrounding fenced park and walked towards a padlocked, rather narrow and very ordinary tall gate, which looked more like a rusty old doorway into someone’s backyard than the entry to a public park. The Beholding Love of Symbolism
